I have had to use this pharmacy due to a certain backordered medication. They are one of the only pharmacies in Houston that have it in stock. That being said, I have always had a negative experience just picking up my med. The cashier is always rude. It doesn't matter which one helps me. It could be a pharmacist or pharmacy tech and it's still bad service. I've called CVS' toll free number to complain but nobody cares. Not one thing has changed. Thank goodness I only have to fill 1 med there. If I had to fill all my regular meds there, it would be even worse. As a company, you need to do better CVS. read more

This CVS is in a super convenient location, and for that reason alone, I've stopped by more times than I can count. Whether it's picking up prescriptions, grabbing a quick snack, or running an errand, it's great to have a pharmacy right in the neighborhood. That said, the experience is often tainted by the constant presence of panhandlers right outside the entrance. I'm a bleeding heart, I always want to help, but there's a time and place, and today wasn't it. I came in with the flu, just trying to get my prescription, and was approached several times before I even got through the door. I've started going to other CVS locations farther away just to avoid being approached. It's disappointing, because this store is so convenient, but at some point, you just want to run a simple errand. I also really hope the city can step up and do more to take care of those in need. I popped in to CVS to grab a few things for my vacation. Five of the eight items were locked up behind glass and key. i had to search the store for an employee to assist me. to only get one of the items between lock and glass. I refused to buy all that I needed because it's such a hassle. How uncomfortable they are making the customers feel. Especially in a day when we like to read labels. Who wants to shop with someone watching every move they make and opening their cases T our whim while we decide what we want to purchase. This is absurd. There's got to be a better way to manage shoplifting. Do these measures really make a difference to CVS's bottom line ? The net after the expense of the glass cases, the installation cost, and the lost customers because 1) customers don't want to ask, or 2) they don't want to go searching for someone, or 3) they simply want to be left alone so they can shop leisurely. CVS is a terrible company I recently took a survey and was to receive a Health and Wellness kit. I took the survey and was charged $11 for shipping and handling. I received another email to take another survey and they wanted $9.95 for shipping and handling. I called the corporate office the first rep said to call the insurance co. and hung up on me. I called the insurance co. and she said it is for CVS and not insurance co. She connected me to CVS corporate office where I am told it is a scam and not CVS problem. They don't care that their name and logo are being used in a scam and do not feel that they should warn their customers that this scam is going on. Like the rep said not their problem. I asked if he shouldn't warn people all he said is it is not CVS. Be very careful when dealing with this company. read more

As the Walgreens pharmacy on Old Spanish Trail has closed, I tried to transfer my prescriptions to the CVS pharmacy across the street at 3811 OST. I walked into that CVS a month ago, and they had me fill out a paper form. One month later, my prescriptions are not transferred. So today I went online and tried to follow the process of transferring prescriptions from there. Which did not work, all I seem to get are "404 errors" or blank screens. I tried both Chrome and Firefox, same results. I can login to my account (created last month), but no prescriptions show up, and when I click on transfer I get either 404 (Chrome) or a non-responsive blank page (Firefox). Next, I tried calling the 800 number for CVS. And I wasted several minutes of my time with a non-English speaker whom I could not understand. ON EDIT: I should also mention that I tried to send email to customer service through their web site, and that also failed. read more

CVS? More like POS. These guys give a new meaning to going "lights out" for their customers. The customer service at this CVS is some of the worst at any pharmacy I've ever been to anywhere in the world. I'm sorry to say it but they really need to get their act together when it comes to treating their customers. Not sure which CVS the other reviewers are going to, perhaps it has gone way downhill sort of like music in general. They tend to close really early (before closing time, way before) and often will shut off their lights while people are actually in the store. I've only been here about 3 times within the last hour of being open, and that's happened to me twice. It's happened to Barbie also when she wasn't with me. cvs advertise that they have covid tests but don't say they are not refundable. I had covid and asked a friend to pick up a 2 pac, he instead picked up 2 tests packs nearly $60. CVS has started a system where you can only leave a voicemail and not actually talk to anyone. So, when they wont even talk to you new Rx and you are about to run out of meds, because they did not send my entire profile to the new Rx. You have no choice but to take time out of your day to get someone else to actually do their job. It will be a cold day in hell before I EVER use another CVS. Drugstore itself is clean, organized, and well-stocked. The pharmacist and pharmacy technicians are professional and helpful - only problem is the wait times at the drive through can be pretty horrible. I've waited 20+ minutes before in the drive through. This is probably due to being short staffed, so hopefully this problem can be fixed soon. Easy to take COVID tests here, at the clinic or with take-home tests. Easy to get your flu shot. This is the worst pharmacy in the history of man. 1) they will not pick up the phone. Don't bother calling. We have lived by this pharmacy for two years and they have never once picked up the phone. 2) they do not fill your prescription when it is sent by the doctor. They wait for you to get there and you have to explain to them what you are picking up. It is always a hassle. Then they tell you that they will text you when you're prescription is ready and they never will. Then you will go back and they will tell you the same thing. More waiting. 3) Each car is at the window for atleast 10-15 mins. We have waited in line for an hour more than once. That with only 3-4 cars ahead of us. In conclusion just go to another pharmacy. Took almost an hour to get a PCR covid test. First of all, if you're only allowing covid testing in the first drive thru line, you should have a sign stating that. The pharmacist handed the covid test bag and just told me to place the bag in the drop bin when done and left. No walk through of what to do. Highly advise scheduling an appointment elsewhere unless you want to wait a long time with no direction. read more

Lemme warn some folks: This is not a parking lot for Cyclone Anaya, Ferrago or The Fish patrons. You will get towed. Consider yourself warned! If you do happen to frequent this CVS as a customer as I do--for a late night beer run or just out of sheer boredom--then you'll leave happy ... well, kinda. It's almost comical to witness people *running* to CVS come that midnight/1am mark. Even the staff from the nearby eateries are sprinting to the make the State's last call. The lines can get long, so don't wait til it's too late. You also may find a person outside claiming to have missed the Metro: "Look ma'am. Here's my ticket. I just need ten dollars to get back home." Not sure it they're telling the truth--your call--but, I prefer to just buy them a bottled water. The upsides to this CVS is that the pharmacy always has my goods ready to go when they say they'll be ready for pick up, and all of the CVS staff are friendly ... even the check out folk who are in just as much of a hurry to get you out the door as you are. Note that they don't give ATM/debit cash back at the register! But for the Wamu/Chase Bank clients, inside awaits your ATM. And don't forget to use your CVS card for added savings! read more

You will wait in line here. Regardless of what time it is. I don't know what it is, but they always seem to force one. In general I like living across the street from this place though as you can typically get the little things in life right away instead of waiting for your next trip out into the world. Not to mention they fill the void for late night beer. I don't care much for their Pharmacy techs. They always talk down to you and I could do without their attitudes, as 90% of the time they aren't telling us anything we don't already realize. Just not real helpful... Get over yourselves.. BEWARE! Don't waste your time using the pharmacy here on W. Grey. Techs are incompetent ( or on crack) & have screwed up my simple prescription 2 out of 3 times coming here. Apparently service has gone down hill since a couple of years ago of good yelp reviews which brought me here initially. I call in advance, or used automated system, punch in RX # and for some reason they still get the quantity/ dosage wrong. In another instance, the tech Mis-read the prescription?! Long story short they lost a very expensive and very important time conscious prescription of mine, and refused to take responsibility for it. I hounded and hounded with receipts and tracking numbers, but they would not assume responsibilty until after i got the cvs specialty pharmacy involved. Magically my time sensitive prescription was found after looking like i asked them to in the first place. This irresponsible hiccup interrupted my daily dosage and put me at serious risk. I work in the Heights frequently. I'm on a tight schedule and stopped by to use the bathroom and get some Gatorade. I was told the bathrooms were all out of order. Again. They have been "out of order" for almost a year now. I'm not buying it. I use CVS for all my prescriptions and other health needs. Not anymore.
