The instructor complained about another student, complained about bad reviews, and talked politics throughout my child's first lesson. He wasn't wearing a mask and didn't require the students to wear them. When I called to complain bc I have a severely immunocompromised family member, he grudgingly said he could wear one, but would not require others in the car to wear them. I told him we could not take that risk and asked for a refund for the remaining five lessons. He refused, saying that he wasn't refusing service. Stay away! He showed up at my child's school - claimed he had an appointment for a lesson. We knew nothing about it - he says he made it directly with my child, and he didn't tell me! She had no permission to leave school, he wanted her to go anyway. Thankfully she was smart enough not to go. He claims he made the appointment with her during an earlier driving lesson - while she was driving! I had enough - unsafe instructor. I asked to transfer our records to another school and he refused! Shaking me down for a $54 cancellation penalty fee. He said check your contract...what contract? We hired him over the phone. Unfortunately, we have had a very negative experience with this driving school. We signed up for the online portion paired with behind the wheel before the onset of COVID-19. We were ready to begin behind the wheel and asked what safety precautions would be taken to protect student drivers. Neal said he could wipe down the steering wheel, but did not require or encourage the use of masks. When I asked for a partial refund, he refused stating, "CW is NOT denying you any services that you purchased, it's your decision to change driving schools. CW reserves the right to do NO refund." However, I disagree. He is denying me what I purchased - which is a SAFE driving environment for my student driver. Marathon County the CDC, and the WEDC have all issued safety rules for businesses, which he is sadly not following. While this is our most pressing complaint (that ultimately forced us to change schools) we have had others. We had another safety concern involving privacy. Neal needed us to sign a form. Since I work during the day, I was not able to come during regular business hours. Instead of mailing the form to me, he asked that I come after hours, and he would leave the paperwork in the hallway of the office building for me to sign. When completed I was supposed to slip it under the door. Who leaves paperwork with private information in the hallway of a public building unattended? Furthermore, the online content is lacking as well. While it covers the required content, it is poorly designed, uninviting and glitchy. Originally I thought this was just the online instruction provided to all schools by the state. I have learned however that driving schools have several online training programs to choose from, and there are obviously better ones out there. I hope this review inspires Neal to make some changes, especially in regards to keeping his students and himself safe during this time of COVID-19. read more

Thanks to Mr. Neal Gavinski , I have come such a long way since my first driving lesson and In 2weeks or so will receive my license, lol i give him a lot of credit for being so patient with me!! I highly recommend Neal at CW Driving School. He was an amazing instructor and mentor to my son. He exceeded my expectations working with my crazy schedule. He definitely goes over and above the call of duty...and my son just passed his test on the first try due to Neal's knowledge and teaching skills.
