So, appt is actually for 10:45 AM Arrived and sat until 11:25 AM Taken to X-ray area at 11:25 AM. Sat in X-ray wait area until 11:35 AM Had X-rays taken and completed at 11:50 AM Sent back out to main wait area Sent to exam.t room #2 to meet with surgeon at 12:00 PM. Met with surgeon Lalonde and resident until 12:10 PM Sent back to main desk to get follow-up appt. at 12:15 PM Person at desk could not operate booking system and other person at lunch. Option to wait until 12:30 PM when she returns or call back later. Left and called back later. This is crappy time-wasting Canadian medicine.

Months of self important missives leading up to surgery to remind me how serious this is. Mandatory visit to view the "track" which must be walked end to end before discharge after surgery. The "track" is the floor your room is on!!! I passed on this. Sweltering room not rectified with a table fan from the 1930's complete with balls of lint. Better bathrooms in homeless shelters. Scolded by nurses. Broken blood pressure cuffs. This is a fleabag hotel where the guest is on no one's radar. It is a moneymaking assembly line for cardio surgeons atop the pyramid. I still bear the protruding stitch catching on every top I wear; ouch! Apparently everyone but me knows it as his "signature."

I challenge the clinic, including Dr. Chan, who was scheduled to attend to me, to preserve and produce any CCTV footage so the events can be reviewed in full. As someone living with medical conditions, I left feeling that I was not treated with dignity or compassion. I believe I experienced discrimination, and I intend to pursue the appropriate avenues to have this matter reviewed. This experience has completely eroded my trust in this clinic. I was also reminded of a previous incident involving my younger brother, who has a physical disability, where our family felt he was not treated appropriately. Based on these experiences, we will be seeking care elsewhere. What was requested was my OHIP card and I presented a copy on my phone as that is what I have always presented even on the first day I registered at this clinic. This Bio-Test lab does not do X-rays or Ultrasounds. They only do serology and they accept urine…read moresamples. It's a smaller lab. The wait here can be epic as it has very few staff. They are in the basement of a medical building and it's a bunker down there. There is no free WiFi and my data signal is very weak in there. They are exclusively walk-in and don't take any appointments. Staff are nice and competent, and they seem to work hard, so this review is not so much a reflection of the staff, but more the location and the business model. This is not my preferred lab, but I do end up here sometimes due to circumstances. There is a paid parking lot for the medical building. There's also free street parking if you are willing to walk a bit. However, be mindful of the time limits because free street parking for one hour will likely not cut it here.

As she took only about 5 min. for the overall visit and did not even look on the top of my head with her magnifying glasses and as it was at some place rather dangerous on my body, I decided to have a second opinion. So I went to this second dermatologist, and as he sent his report to Dr Fahim, she decided to cancel an appointment that she had given me 6 months down the road to check on the healing of the operation. When they left me a message to confirm my appointment (5.5 months later), I called them back and then the secretary said that she had left a message to talk to me as Dr Fahim did not want to see me anymore because I had now another dermatologist. I explained to the secretary that I had gone to see the second one to have a confirmation that my spot was really cancerous and that I had not changed dermatologist. But she repeated that Dr Fahim did not want me as a patient anymore. So my advice is for anyone who thinks of seeing this doctor, do not go as she may in one of her bad temper decide to flush you as a patient if she feels like it. I thought that she had a very unprofessional conduct. My husband also was so upset that he will stop seeing her and go to that second dermatologist who took his time to give you a proper exam, not like Dr Fahim who do not take more that 5 min. to look over all your body and check for spots.
