Before the Covid pandemic; I went to CWG Footcare, located on Clyde Avenue, for a new pair of custom-made orthotics. During my follow-up appointment, Chuck Weeks did the fitting for my walking shoes. I tried on my shoes immediately after the orthotics had been inserted. There wasn't enough room for my feet, which were now being painfully squished by my shoes. Chuck told me that he couldn't thin down the orthotics, since this would cause damage to them. At home this pair of brand-new orthotics wouldn't fit properly into any other of my many running shoes. When I phoned Chuck Weeks, a short time later, his only suggestion was for me to buy new shoes for the orthotics that he had just made. In 2021, I tried using this pair of orthotics in my hiking boots. For the first part of my walk on level ground they were fine. During the latter part of this walk my feet started hurting terribly injuring the big toes. It did enough damage that my toenails stopped growing for almost year. Most recently, I placed Chuck Weeks orthotics in my very spacious Sorel winter boots. After using them for only a few times, I once again injured both of my feet. I paid over $500.00 for this pair of ill-fitting orthotics. When I originally complained to Chuck Weeks about this pair of orthotics, his only solution was to offer me a second pair for an additional $350.00. I wasted more than $500.00 on ill-fitting orthotics, which had to be thrown into the garbage. I have been wearing custom orthotics for almost 30-years and have never had any problems with their comfort before now. There are many better foot care businesses in Ottawa that do quality work and treat their customers respectfully. Therefore, I can't recommend this "foot care" store to anyone. You have now been warned about CWG Footcare. I would have given a rating of zero stars, but that isn't possible when leaving a review. read more
