The therapy was life-changing, along with all of the antivities. It opened my eyes to what healthy relationships of all kinds are built upon, the ways I have to take care of myself before anyone else. I don't know how to put it all into words, but I'm so thankful for all the people who worked there when I was there at the end of 2021 who saved my life and helped me save myself.

When I asked why he was ignoring me, he had yelled "Can't you see that I am working on something?!" After that, they threw my belongings into black trash bags and threw it at me while I was on the porch. Jacob, the other director, made fun of me for being homeless, and apparently not having air conditioning where I am (although Akua has no air conditioning even in 102 degree heat), as I am waiting for my Uber to pick me up. They are so insanely mean to people here. The other residents watched everything happen, and got to see the true colors of Rudy and Jacob. They do NOT want to help anybody here. Please, if you are struggling with your mental health, go somewhere else so you are able to get the care you deserve.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My experience with…read moreAdvanced Psychiatry Associates involved serious issues with billing transparency, communication, and continuity of care. I repeatedly requested that all communication be done by email due to a documented need for reduced cognitive overload ( excessive msrketing texting/ emails) Even after opting out through the technical tools available.. This was ignored, and I continued to receive repeated calls, texts, and automated messages, often multiple times in a row and outside normal hours. Even after explicit explicitly requesting in writing that I only received calls between twelve p m and five p m Billing has been especially concerning. I have not received consistent monthly statements, and when I asked directly, I was told they "don't send bills." Despite that, I received multiple "FINAL NOTICE BEFORE LEGAL ACTION" texts threatening collections. And phone calls as well. Harassing me to make a payment even though I $900 in payments within last 6 months. I have requested itemized statements several times and have not been provided with a complete record. There are also discrepancies between appointment records and charges. I am currently verifying claims through my insurance because the amounts and dates do not clearly match the services I actually received. For example, I might have a fifteen minute medication refill. But it appears it might be being billed. Also for psychotherapy. Same issue with video calls that are scheduled that instead turn into phone calls. And I wonder about this because I believe the billing is different. They can bill more if it's a video call. That's scheduled versus a phone call .. i'm not sure On the care side, I experienced a significant issue where a prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy and not corrected for several months despite repeated follow-up. During that time, I did not have access to needed medication. In another instance, I had a telehealth appointment with a provider I had not previously seen, who immediately challenged my medication regimen without a proper review. The call ended abruptly, and within minutes a welfare check was initiated at my home. This was extremely distressing and felt like a disproportionate response to a disagreement during a medical conversation. Appointments have also been inconsistently handled. I have received threats that appointments would be canceled, but without clear confirmation. In some cases, appointments did not occur as expected, creating confusion about whether they were canceled or counted as no-shows. After reviewing other patient feedback, I am not the only one reporting: Lack of billing transparency Delayed or missing statements Aggressive collection messaging Poor communication and follow-up This experience felt less like coordinated medical care and more like a fragmented system where billing and communication are not aligned with patient needs. I too have also been cut off from cirvado with no warning However Dr motl was an excellent p t s d doctor who's now retired? And he gave me excellent care.Visits lasted about forty five minutes and he helped me significantly. Becky cha in records test consistently been responsive, and does a good job.In my opinion I strongly recommend verifying all billing and communication practices before engaging with this office.

I tried to see Dr McCarthy again because I need her to sign off on my disability paperwork to get more money from them. She refused because I had a bill. I tried to explain I need to see her so I can pay it. Then! I almost died due to an infection and was hospitalized for weeks. I was maybe an hour away from dying. I was septic. And my stomach was involved my appendix burst and my gall bladder was messed up and I needed advice on surgery or not. Again I was hospitalized and out of it and recovering for months still with extreme pain and stomach issues following my hospitalization. I was not getting the disability income so I could pay her but I was trying to just get healthy again with someone I had seen for years and years and I always paid my bills previously. They mailed to the wrong address and I was in no shape to be able to figure out what they wanted. Finally they told me via text I was no longer a client without any warning. Do not go here. Tabitha is extremely rude the office worker. They don't care about your health at all just your money. She said oh it's "only 200 dollars" rudely when that meant if I eat or not that week. They don't care about you there. Unless you're rich. And pay ahead of time. If it's "only 200 dollars" why not try and help me when I'm literally fighting for my life instead of demand that money first?? What about first do no harm? Their denial of service after so many years of being a patient is absolutely ridiculous when I was close to death. I miss their old office workers they were so much better at communication and following up than Tabitha. Someone as rude as her should not work around patients who are sick and need empathy.

Once, when she prescribed the wrong meds, I had to check into a hotel, and she didn't get back to me for three days! We make excuses for her because she seems kind and attentive. But really, she is dangerous. She had prescribed double the dose of clonazepam, Xanax, and Paxil that was necessary. She said not to worry about the high dose of Paxil, because it was such a great drug, she even named her cat Paxil! She prescribed conflicting drugs that made me incredibly ill. She is much older now, and has had several medical emergencies. but her practices were always in question, and because I needed my medication and her advice, I trusted her. She has never used technology. Be very careful. She is a pill mill and meets with big Pharma representatives constantly. She greets her patients with "hey, you!" Because she doesn't remember our names! Isn't the doctor supposed to do no harm? In the long run, such an abusive, unprofessional experience. She sees most patients every 90 days for pill, refills and many times, while waiting her office, patients dropped in, just for their quick exchange of passing a check for a script. She seems to be very interested in collecting $300, and will write any script you want as long as she gets that check. Just really a very sad case. She should absolutely not be practicing any sort of medicine.

I told him what my job was telling me was acceptable, how I needed some extra breaks in between being screamed at by customers and that since I was grieving and had a new family crisis and death I needed some more time off work in addition to postpartum depression and anxiety. He got upset with me when I missed an appointment. His adhd, sleep deprived patient who was already fighting for her life missed an appointment and he immediately defaulted to being frustrated with me the next time I saw him. And then he told me "I will tell your job that you need these extra breaks and that once a month you need to call out for a mental health day no problem" SO I DID JUST THAT. I called out and I waited on the accommodations to come through my companies leave and accommodations department. But that never happened. Instead I get a phone call WEEKS later from Dr. Cheema. Where he apologizes for LYING TO ME and says he will only agree to the breaks. Getting me in trouble with my job for no good reason. I've had 5 deaths in the past few years on top of 2 births that both came with postpartum issues. He knew I was struggling and gaining an excessive amount of weight. My heart rate was an issue, and I was being monitored with the meds he prescribed. On top of this he had the audacity to call me out for missing an appointment ? When I would be waiting 30-45 minutes PAST my appointment time on a regular basis with no penalty or monetary benefit from him.... He wants to require payment if I miss it if I'm late but what about when HE IS LATE... nothing. After he admitted lying to me and he left me hanging high and dry in the middle of a crisis I sought help elsewhere. I found someone else who knew exactly what I needed and had no problem telling my job that I needed breaks and a day off from the abuse that came with the job. AND HERE WE ARE YEARS LATER... his wife Karen continues to call me asking me for money. "I'm not sure why you're not answering my calls" uhhh... maybe because your husband is a liar and predatory on people who truly need help? Let's chalk the money I "owe" you on services NOT RENDERED. Take the money I "owe" you as opportunity cost, y'all wasted my time numerous times. Read the other reviews on YELP. You're unorganized and I'm not paying another cent. Take my non payment as my late fee for all the times you made me sit in the waiting room WAY past when my appointment was. Respect is mutual and it's clear we both have none of that for each other. Time to move on. Don't call me again. I could have written this review years ago and should have. Your passive aggressive voicemail asking why I don't answer your calls just did it for me today. That's enough. Why didn't you answer my calls when I needed actual help? on top of that I owe what? $80 in late fees. Gtfoh. Leave me alone. "Sorry I lied to you" all I wanted was time to myself to recover. He told me I could have that and then backtracked trying to say because he didn't see me those days I called out that he couldn't cover them... huh??? This man saw me once a month and KNEW WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH. He TOLD ME he would get it covered and then LATER he told me "nvm" LEAVE ME ALONE. I'm not paying another dime to a liar or a thief of time. Figure it out yourself! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Do not get caught up in this man's bs. I got the help I truly needed elsewhere with no problem. Anyone considering this man should heed my warning and do the same! He should retire now, with any shred of dignity he has left. He's getting up there in age and probably should just walk away before more people start talking.
