I've been a patient/client of Advanced Psychiatry Associates for almost 13 years, so believe me, I've seen both the good and the bad over the years. My regular provider is Soo Kang, but recently I wasn't able to see her and had a phone appointment with another provider, Warphen. As part of the normal process, his assistant called beforehand to get everything organized and prepared so the appointment would go smoothly. That assistant--or, as I prefer to call him, his "TRUSTY SIDEKICK" was Shelby. Shelby was absolutely outstanding! This young man didn't know me from Adam. I wasn't his regular patient, and this was basically a substitute appointment, but he never once treated me like I was a squeeze-in, an inconvenience, or somebody he could give a rat's ass about helping. He treated me with respect from beginning to end. He was prompt, professional, efficient, courteous, and never condescending, rude, or arrogant. But the thing that impressed me most was simple: Shelby did what he said he was going to do! The Bible says, "Let your Yes mean Yes and your No mean No." So if Almighty God says it, who are we to question it? Stand aside Citizens.... Shelby is on a mission from God and he's doing the Lord's work! Doing what you say you are going to do is supposed to be normal, but unfortunately these days it isn't. Too often somebody tells you they're going to take care of ten things, you hang up, and maybe one gets done. Then you have to put on your big-boy pants, call them back, remind them to do the job they're being paid to do, and still handle all of your own responsibilities on top of it. Not Shelby. He followed up. He emailed me. He faxed the correct people. He called when he said he would. He even gave me his direct business line so I could reach him if necessary. He was, quite frankly, a breath of fresh air in a world filled with farts. Shelby, I hope you see this: wonderful job, young man. You are greatly appreciated! To his supervisors: this man needs a raise. Don't get rid of him. Give him a promotion, a cushy desk, special parking spot, an extra belly scratch on Friday afternoon--whatever you folks do to make a great employee's job a little happier, make it so. People are very quick to complain when someone screws up, especially on forums like this. I believe when somebody does an exceptional job, that ought to be shouted from the rooftops too. I hate this office so much. I've been seeing them nearly 4 yrs. Soo Kang is too busy to see monthly even though she's been my doctor for yrs. She does moth but blow smoke up my arse and tells me to exercise. I finally am able to get in with an actual Psych as apprised to a PA and twice now she hadn't shown for our telehealth appts. Then she boasts that's she's gonna change my life yet she's lying saying that she send my meds while still on the call with me when she in fact did not. I had to call back just to get one of the three sent in. It's now the following day, I've emailed her, I've called the office 4 times, spoken to her medical asst, get hung up on when I ask to speak to a mgr/supervisor and now I start off another day babysitting another doctor who just treats her patients as another number. They have the people answering the phones asking for reviews which is ridiculous. You judge a doctors office off the doctors, not the people who answer the phones. They also delete bad reviews because this is the second one I've written. read more

I had one conversation with Advanced Psychiatry Associates and it was bad enough that I told them immediately I wouldn't be continuing with their services. Since then, they've ignored my clear "do not contact me" request and kept texting me to drum up business. For a psychiatric clinic, this is completely unacceptable. Any mental‑health provider that ignores boundaries and keeps pushing for money after being told to stop is not a provider I would ever trust. If this is how they treat people before they're even patients, I can't imagine how they treat people once they're in the door. Avoid this place. read more

He is the utmost in professionalism., and has an amazing bedside manner with a listening ear, who remembers all the details and gives the best advice and wisdom. If I could leave zero stars, I would. My experience with Advanced Psychiatry Associates involved serious issues with billing transparency, communication, and continuity of care. I repeatedly requested that all communication be done by email due to a documented need for reduced cognitive overload ( excessive msrketing texting/ emails) Even after opting out through the technical tools available.. This was ignored, and I continued to receive repeated calls, texts, and automated messages, often multiple times in a row and outside normal hours. Even after explicit explicitly requesting in writing that I only received calls between twelve p m and five p m Billing has been especially concerning. I have not received consistent monthly statements, and when I asked directly, I was told they "don't send bills." Despite that, I received multiple "FINAL NOTICE BEFORE LEGAL ACTION" texts threatening collections. And phone calls as well. Harassing me to make a payment even though I $900 in payments within last 6 months. I have requested itemized statements several times and have not been provided with a complete record. There are also discrepancies between appointment records and charges. I am currently verifying claims through my insurance because the amounts and dates do not clearly match the services I actually received. For example, I might have a fifteen minute medication refill.But it appears it might be being billed.Also for psychotherapy. Same issue with video calls that are scheduled that instead turn into phone calls. And I wonder about this because I believe the billing is different. They can bill more if it's a video call. That's scheduled versus a phone call .. i'm not sure On the care side, I experienced a significant issue where a prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy and not corrected for several months despite repeated follow-up. During that time, I did not have access to needed medication. In another instance, I had a telehealth appointment with a provider I had not previously seen, who immediately challenged my medication regimen without a proper review. The call ended abruptly, and within minutes a welfare check was initiated at my home. This was extremely distressing and felt like a disproportionate response to a disagreement during a medical conversation. Appointments have also been inconsistently handled. I have received threats that appointments would be canceled, but without clear confirmation. In some cases, appointments did not occur as expected, creating confusion about whether they were canceled or counted as no-shows. After reviewing other patient feedback, I am not the only one reporting: Lack of billing transparency Delayed or missing statements Aggressive collection messaging Poor communication and follow-up This experience felt less like coordinated medical care and more like a fragmented system where billing and communication are not aligned with patient needs. I too have also been cut off from cirvado with no warning However Dr motl was an excellent p t s d doctor who's now retired?And he gave me excellent care.Visits lasted about forty five minutes and he helped me significantly. Seems like I'm not the only one. If I could leave zero stars, I would. My experience with Advanced Psychiatry Associates from 2021-2022 was shocking. My card was on file, and I had already paid for all services. Fast forward to today (11/11/2025): I received a text threatening collections, without ever receiving a single bill or notice. I checked their logs against my actual appointment dates -- they don't match. My credit card statements, however, perfectly match my appointments. It seems like their tactic is to wait until it's harder to verify charges, then claim you owe money. Communication with billing and administration is impossible. This is completely unacceptable -- avoid this company at all costs. Complaints exist on the BBB as well, which confirms my instincts. Had a horrible experience with my first provider, billing will wait for you to rack on $100+ to call you about a copay and are completely unprofessional with their calls. Will charge you for an appointment for a 10 min adhd online assessment i was able to find a similar one online for free.. never told i was going to be charged as regular appt for an online survey. Frank is the manager and is really nice and gave it a second chance solely because of him . Unfortunately that is not enough. PATIENT BEWARE!! AVOID AT ALL COST! I had one telehealth visit with this practice, but the problems started before I was even seen. Before my appointment, I was already being texted marketing messages advertising Spravato and TMS for depression, even though I had not yet met a provider and was seeking care for anxiety -- not depression. These messages came because I had given my phone number to schedule care, and I never gave consent for my patient information to be used for marketing. After my visit, things escalated. Within days, I began receiving threatening billing and collection texts and phone calls, including a message titled "FINAL NOTICE BEFORE LEGAL ACTION," despite never receiving a mailed bill, itemized statement, or insurance EOB. I was even told I had "refused to pay" something I was never given the opportunity to review. The demands came by text message, from multiple phone numbers, with links to a sketchy payment portal and threats of collections, credit reporting, and legal action less than two weeks after my appointment. This raises serious concerns under consumer protection and debt-collection laws. Their own intake paperwork says bills are mailed and collections don't begin for 90 days. None of that was followed. Between the aggressive billing, the privacy issues, and the pre-appointment pharmaceutical marketing, this felt far more like a sales and collections operation than a medical practice. Made an appointment for one of my children three months ago. Nothing was known It was a telehealth appointment that was supposed to be at 3:00 PM. By 3:30 PM no one had showed up online, so I decided to call the office. They then informed me the doctor was running about an hour behind. It is now 5:15 PM and I have not heard from anybody in the office. I called again, and they transferred me to the doctor with her line went straight to voicemail. I find this very unprofessional. 100% scam. I had an assessment appointment that they asked me questions, but never provided any assistance. The questioner seemed uninterested and when I asked questions he told me they would set up an appointment. I asked what this was and he told me it was only a questionnaire. Ge attempted to set an appointment, but the next was months out. AND same as a prior Yelp reviewer, weeks later they told me I owed $138. Zero services provided. In addition, both the assessment call and the billing caller did not speak very good English I could only understand 70% of what was said and I had to ask them to repeat themselves. DO NOT use them. You will get zero medical service, but pay for it. They're running a scheme where they charge you, but provide NO help. Unfortunately, Yelp does not have a zero star option. read more

I had a really horrible experience here. I had an evaluation with Jeanette in 2022, and she was wonderful. She was attentive and kind, but she left the practice after I had only had a few appointments with her. I was transferred to Eucharia, and she was often late to start appointments and didn't really listen well, but I stuck it out. On my last appointment, she was almost 10 minutes late to start my appointment, and once she logged on, she started pulling up my medical records, including an EKG Jeanette had ordered almost a year previously. She started reading random things on the EKG as if she didn't understand them. I'm in healthcare, so I had to try to explain over the phone how to read it. I had already reviewed the results when I had the test done and also had it sent to my PCP, and the results were normal, so there was no reason to be having a lengthy conversation about it. Me trying to explain this year old EKG and her continuing to be confused took up what was left of my appointment. Then she looked at the date and realized the test was a year old and started shouting at me asking why I hadn't gotten another one in the past year. I explained that no one had asked me to or ordered one for me and that I'd be happy to get one. She kept shouting and said I already should have gotten it (again, this is the first time she brought it up) and that she wasn't going to fill my prescription until I did it. This was the day before I was leaving on a 2 week trip, so there was no possible way for me to get the EKG, which I was just now hearing about, until I got back. I started trying to explain this to her, and she continued shouting at me that we were past my scheduled time and that I was making her late for her next appointment. Even though the reason we were past my time is because she started the appointment late and then couldn't interpret my test results. So, I was just suddenly without medication with no warning. I called my PCP and just got my medication filled through her and never came back to Advanced Psychiatry. Then one week ago, I got an aggressive text saying that I owed $120 back from 2022 and I was being turned over to collections. I had never received a bill, and my credit card had been on file with them the whole time, so the tone and timing of this message seemed really suspicious. I was concerned it was a scam from someone who had stolen my contact information and was trying to scare me into giving them my credit card number. But when I called, they confirmed that, yes, they had never billed me from 2022, and yes, they just have a really aggressive person in their billing department who decided to threaten me with turning me over to collection upon first contact about a 3 year old bill they had never mentioned. My interactions with this place were way more stressful than they needed to be. I suggest avoiding them if possible. read more

My experience with Caroline Cella was so extremely disappointing and unprofessional. For months, every time I asked her to assess me for ADHD, she would brush it off with vague promises like "we'll look at it next session," clearly just to silence me. After dragging this on for far too long, she finally told me that if I wanted her to assess me, I'd need to schedule a formal intake with her. I did as i was told, but the very next day her assistant canceled my appointment. He cycled through excuse after excuse before finally admitting that she didn't want to do it. I was told by her assistant to find someone else, who almost immediately diagnosed me with a high level of ADHD. If I had relied only on Caroline, I would still be untreated. She also fought me on getting medication to help me with my sleep, insisting it wouldn't help and refusing to prescribe "for no reason." When she finally relented, it made a major difference in my sleep and overall quality of life, proving she had been wrong the entire time. I left every interaction with her feeling dismissed, invalidated, and disregarded. I would strongly caution anyone considering her for psychiatric care. read more

If I could give a zero stars, I would. I spent 2 months going through their process of getting an ADHD assessment and evaluation to get treatment from my psychiatrist. They are very disorganized, it took 3 appointments just to get the ADHD computer test. They never went over my results with me. I asked them to send my results to my psych and they did not sent the complete file. I got connected to the office manager Becky to move my records over, she is currently now ignoring my psych office and my emails and calls. She was sent an email saying that they had my approval to talk to them about my records and get my results and recommendations for treatment. I have now had my care delayed for 2+ months because of this clinic and their lack of organization or customer care. I am now having to restart the process elsewhere to actually get care.
