I am a practicing attorney licensed in the State of California with an esteemed reputation in the field and a proven history of success in my cases. I am very disappointed in Advanced Psychiatry Associates and have suffered emotionally and financially because of their negligence. I have been at this facility for about 2 years or more. My primary psychiatrist is very attentive and empathetic, and this complaint is not aimed at him. I have regular appointments at this facility every 30 days. Approximately 85% of the time the provider I see does not order the correct medications (either incorrect strength, count, or failure a order a medication). I have to fight to get their mistakes and omissions corrected which also burdens me financially. Every time I have had the pharmacy fax the facility they fail to respond to the pharmacy. When they fail to order a medication, I call the facility and usually wait on hold for an average of 30 minutes before someone answers. When I request that the provider correct their mistakes, they refuse and force me to make another appointment with another provider (my primary psychiatrist only works part-time, and he is usually booked well in advance) to get the medication ordered. They fail to respond to refill requests from the pharmacy for refills, even for routine non-controlled medications that I have been taking for years. As I recall, they have never responded to any requests made by my pharmacy. Every time I need a refill, I call them and they again force another appointment on me, usually with another provider, just to refill the medicine. The manager I spoke to excused this practice claiming that they are not allowed to give refills for more than 90 days without an appointment but as I recall with other facilities this is not true. When I have had appointments with three providers, not my primary, who have made snide comments to me about the regime my primary doctor has had me on for years (which have worked well), made condescending remarks to me about taking controlled substances, shamed me for "being on too many meds," told me that "it's not good to take the controlled substances," and asked me if I drink alcohol or use street drugs (there is nothing in my chart which would indicate I have ever had a problem with alcohol or street drugs). On February 9, 2024, I saw Dr. Kevin Hayes, MD. I explained to him that I never got a refill of me depression medication so I had to stop taking it suddenly and that lead to feeling very low. I explained to him how difficult the facility makes it to get refills and I gave up trying because I did not want to be shamed by their providers again. He told me he would not give me a prescription for my ADD and when I asked why he said "because you're not feeling well and that's not good for you" which makes no logical sense. In other words, because I'm suffering from depression, he is refusing to treat my ADD. If anything, that would cause additional harm because not only would I still feel unmotivated from depression, I would not be able to focus which would impair my ability to work in my profession as an attorney. I take a very small dose of Xanax as needed because I suffer from PTSD from multiple horrific traumas since 2018. He also told me he would only give me 15 Xanax per month and when I asked why he said "I do not want you getting addicted to it." I reminded him I've been getting 30 per month for years and I use them very sparingly, but he still insisted. Again, this makes no logical sense to reduce my treatment for the anxiety that results from PTSD when I am already feeling severe depression from the discontinuation of my depression meds because I did not have the wherewithal to fight for the refill and get belittled by another provider. read more

AWFUL. The most important person in my life suffers from severe panic disorder. Daily panic attacks, obsessive and intrusive thoughts regarding physical health, and actual manifested symptoms very similar to a heart attack. This man drives himself to the emergency room on a weekly basis and sits in the parking lot debating with himself back and forth on whether or not he should go in due to his symptoms. I found Folsom Psychiatry Associates through his insurance and picked it because it was close. I wish I had read these reviews before making his appointment. The intake was appalling. An uneducated dumpster woman named Jessica Hayward went through a paper form checklist bluntly asking very personal questions with no clinical coordination. "HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SEXUALLY MOLESTED?" Hey. Um. That's not how you approach trauma questions in an intake. Thank God my love does not have a trauma background. I can't imagine the poor people who DO have a trauma background who are faced with that very crass approach. Get some clinical training, or supervision, or something. YOU'RE TERRIBLE. She is the last one listed on their website and does not even have a bachelor's degree behind her name. I would say that they should pick a better person to be the first impression, but it was such an accurate representation of the kind of care he got that I can't even fault them. 15 minute conversation with a nurse practitioner named Sara Reed for medication management. This man has such severe panic that he cannot breathe, has daily attacks mimicking heart attack symptoms and sometimes cannot leave the house. He walked out of there with Hydroxyzine and Lexapro. When he tried to advocate for himself for short term anxiety medications to assist him through the transition into therapy - he was told that they don't prescribe anti-anxiety medications besides Hydroxyzine (which is essentially nothing more than an anti-histamine) except in extreme cases. I'm sorry, Sara. What do you consider extreme?? And how do you feel qualified to make that call after a 15 minute discussion. BILLING. Oh my god the billing. First of all - try to get ANYONE on the phone. I called prior to sending my love and asked specific questions - 1. do you bill for mental health outpatient services, or psychiatric services? There are different billing codes for different services and everyone's policy is different with different coverage for various billing codes so I wanted to ensure my loved one was getting the best coverage and care. They told me they bill for Mental Health Outpatient services. They don't. They told me he would not be receiving a bill. He did. My favorite part of the bill was a $200 cancelation fee for an appointment that THEY MISTAKENLY DOUBLE BOOKED HIM FOR. I attempted to clear up this confusion with multiple front desk staff BEFORE the appointment - and thought everything was fine until we received the COLLECTIONS notice. No bill was sent. No contact was made with us. No attempt to rectify the situation despite my many phone calls. Just straight to collections. Awful practice. JUST AWFUL. Bottom line is this: Seeking out mental health and psychiatric services is very scary and overwhelming. Providers should be patient, compassionate, and client centered. Folsom Psychiatry is NONE OF THESE THINGS. Do not send anyone you care about here unless all you're looking for in treatment is a hefty bill for services you didn't get. read more

I'm an elderly financial, mental and emotional abuse by Orange County California who is running cover on the theft of my court ordered home and real estate business. They've Ibeen dragging me to court for years with destroyed tampered with withheld evidence and falsified reports. I've been repeatedly assaulted. I have photos and doctors reports my cars are continually vandalized. I have a letter from the perps I'm being stalked by private detectives. My bank accounts and devices have been hacked repeatedly. Your doctor is required report elder abuse, especially when your blood pressure is in the danger zone and he isn't doing it. He calls them misfortunes when my assault reports insurance bills and falsified police report reports exhibits exceed the alphabet and I've implicated the DA, judge every single lawyer that's been on my case who refuses to present my copious evidence, drop these bogus charges and arrest the true criminals who put my assets in their trust that are still in my LLC. I am not allowed to return to my home that I have a court order to and a business that I built that's l built and have notarized documents to. I am living in a garage and being evicted yet again at nearly 70 years old when I've been a lifelong homeowner and successful entrepreneur, an innocent law, abiding citizen,! This office hangs up on me when I call because I want to submit my evidence after almost going on five years now, trying to submit all of my evidence to the court, and I'm not allowed ONE hearing and my doctor is allowing me to be viciously abused by corrupt government officials and calling it a misfortune when I beg and cried them to please help me. I've been out here for seven years moving and moving and moving ensuring break ins I believe are also instigated by Orange County California who is covering it up and prosecuting me for their crimes. They've alleged before I am suddenly "incompetent" when I've made millions they ignorantly attempted to steal with my late partner's son. They're angry I've systematically implicated everyone with their felony evidence crimes these are federal felony offenses. My bank account accounts have been systematically hacked all my devices. And even with all of my evidence of the vicious assault injuries they still turn a blind eye when required to report to the federal authorities of the most extreme elder abuse I've ever heard or seen of in my life, I'm extremely intelligent, highly educated and am being tortured to death as this practice is condoning and also covering it up. I've been pleased with the care I have received. There's been some bumps during the expansion of the practice over the past few years or so. Originally it was Dr.Solimon, his wife and a few office staff in a small section of what was Originally "Folsom Psychitry". No counselors, med technicians, phlebotomist, appointment schedulers. Looking at things from the other perspective has helped me to be better at taking responsibility for how I deal with other people. We patients are there because well, it is a mental health facility. We're there to get help for those reasons. Those employees deal with people who need more assistance with mental health than the "average person" or at least we're willing to admit it. Some maybe not and have to be. However, we're working on getting better. I'm pretty sure that if anyone ever digs to the center of the earth or ends up on the axis the world isn't revolving around anyone of us as individuals. I can't say that I'm at all pleased with the service I have received when phoning in and that automated phone "press this number for" because it doesn't give an option to push a button to leave a message for a person. Instead you're required to send an email to: name @ADVANACEDPSYCHIATRYASSOCIATES.COM SERIOUSLY!!!!!???? I could have left a voicemail with my name, number and could you please call me back at your earliest convenience thank you! In the time it took to type that out. Fulsome psychiatry, let me down. I have been a patient since 2020. And it's been the best thing that has happened to me. But ever since they got a call-center. I have had nothing but problems. In my last visit,,there was a problem with the pharmacy that didn't receive my refill prescription. Three weeks trying to get it. Coming to find out that they never emailed my physician. To make things worse, they confirmed my next visit the day before. Then they called after 330pm same day to say that there was a insurance problems and they had to cancel it. I ask, why didn't your billing department let me know before. Instead of les then 24HR. I ask to speak to Manager, was told not available. I started to have a panic attack. There was no one to talk to. So,I told them to keep my appointment n I'm going to try my best to see what's going on. Well nx day came and around 2hr before my visit. I get a call that the insurance problem was not resolved. Ask to talk to the main person in billing at call center. Was told it wouldn't change anything. I asked after so many years of being a patient. can you give me a courtesy appointment or can you bill me. Was told no , So I paid out of pocket. I write this not to harm the company or out of anger. I write it so it don't happen to anyone else. That doesn't have the resources to pay for a visit. And imagine a patient having a real nervous break down could be really dangerous. Mental health is a serious problems and The call center should really get educat·ed on mental health services. read more

There are so many good points that I like and appericate about Advanced Psychiatry Associates. Even with all the COVID restrictions, they have been able to get me started as a new patient to their practice and paired with both a permanent Nurse practitioner to handle my medication needs and with a therapist. The first therapist they paired me with did not "fit well" for me, and they had no promblem, no questions asked, in setting me up with a new one that I absolutely LOVE. I think the best thing aboutAdvanced Psychiatry Associates is that you can get BOTH your PSYCHIATRIC and THERPY needs met inside the same practice. I find that invaluable. Another thing I like about this practice is the currect testing abilities that allow them to determine which medications work best for YOU specifically. No more having to "try" medications until you find the right one. Such a relief. The front desk staff is very helpful also. You can contact them either by phone or CHAT from their website. On 1/04/2024 Angela Iwuala neglected the fact that I have severe side effects from current medication, which is Aderall, and refused to change me to a different stimulant. In to my face, she, at first, agreed to prescribe me something else , when I told her the side affects I was suffering from. Then, without properly ending our conversation, she waved at me as if she was on the rush , even though we still had 20 minutes left from the 30 minute follow up appointment. Then, she hang up the phone and ultimately, I received a text message with a prescription Information. When I opened it, I saw that she prescribed me a 14 count of Aderall with lower dosage. The side effects I am having from Aderall are severe diarrhea, painful heartburn and stomach cramping due to an inflammation of the stomach lining. I was diagnosed with a chronic gastritis. Angela, was totally aware of that and she knowingly, neglected my health and put my health at risk. Angela Iuwala does not have your best interest in heart. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. My STAT referral for my husband was specific for agitation and dementia. Appt was made for several weeks out (which was neither here nor there) After picking my husband up from his memory care facility and driving all of the way out there, the doctor comes in and says, "oh sorry I don't treat dementia" and was sent home. ...what!!!?? I tried to call the 877 number listed online once I got home to make a complaint when a man answered and it sounded like his name was "Matt Glover" or "Mack Gluver". THIS MAN WOULD NOT PUT IN MY MESSAGE FOR MANAGEMENT TO CONTACT ME UNLESS HE WAS TOLD THE WHOLE STORY. I told him I didn't want to share with him the complaint and wanted to speak with only management. He told me the message would not go through (despite knowing all my contact information) unless he was told "the juicy details". I'm so angered it makes me sick that there is no phone number directly to management and that we have to get around office staff like THAT. read more

Quick, responsive, efficient staff. All providers and staff have run the daily operations effortlessly. All providers and staff members are attentive and it is a very comprehensive treatment facility at the main office. It was the amazing trio dream team I had of: Dr. P, Ms. St. Louise , Mr. Logan Clark, and now the newest member of this dream team includes Mr. Morgan Mory. I may be short on words since I am working on something that only this dream team made happen with their relentless and constant and sense of urgency I never expected from any provider or office. The office appears to be a far more organized along with settled down from the expansion that created the majority of my "hick-ups", there was only a few; however, no less frustrating for myself/clients and staff who have to deal with the "fall out" so to speak. Listen, the primary function of Folsom Psychiatric is Care Providers! These providers are mindful, they LISTEN! Listening is the single most important skill/attribute or principle there is in a clinical mental health environment; and in LIFE! These people are rock stars with listening and "unpacking" then providing reasonable suggestions that are attainable; they are real people communicating on a REAL LEVEL! The clinicians ARE NOT in "EGO" with a disposition of "Superiority" presenting their own "delusions of grandeur" that I have encounter so many times in the past. I'm not typically one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to after all of the wonderful and helpful care that I've received from advanced psych. I've seen various nurse practitioners over the approximate 3 years that I've been seeing them, but about a year ago I finally found my permanent nurse practitioner, Julia. I've struggled with my mental health for over a decade, and have been on probably every medication known to man. Working with Julia has been nothing short of the greatest relief I've felt, and FINALLY having my mental heath and anxiety under control. Julia far exceeds any and all expectations, delivers the kindest and most compassionate care, and truly listens to patients and their struggles. She works with patients, instead of doing the old 5 minute conversation of "well, here's some meds. See you in a month." She truly demonstrates consistent humility and empathy for patients, and is a true GEM of an NP at advanced psych. read more

I wish I could write this from my real name, but I didn't want it popping up on my name search... Rest-assured, I highly recommend this place. My therapist introduced me to them, and she's one of the real ones. These psychiatrists and staff members listen with concern, and honestly, sometimes it actually feels like they care not because it's their job, but because they're passionate about helping people (that's rare to find). I feel loved and so welcome here and looking forward to a long-term relationship - It's been over 4 months so far. I've had some pretty bad depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD... And I've been so scared to try out medicine, but I tried everything else in the book - prayer, meditation, you name it. Those things are great, but they work better if you've got some mental trauma to take care of. Everything works better. A painful past is no joke.
