I've been here for almost a year now and enjoy it very much. They just started renovations a few months ago, and I transferred into a 2-bedroom. It's very fancy, and pricing is fair. It's a really great community, and they're always throwing events. Many amenities to offer, such as an indoor and outdoor pool and a pet park. One of the managers there, Toni, I believe is her name, always answers my questions and is very polite. Highly recommended. read more

I've lived here for 3 years, and I absolutely love it here. I'm 65 years old, so I'll be here until it's time to see the big guy. I just love the maintenance here. Top notch. One of their maintenance guys, Jeromy, is so friendly and such a hard worker. Since it's pet-friendly, I was able to get a little kitten, and I'm just so thankful for that. I just rented a 2x2 Upgrade and it reeks of mold, meth, and cigarette/marijuana smoke from another tenant in the building. This in one of the upgrades, i.e. newly renovated. The roof leaks and I'm on the first floor. The paint is drippy and in the new carpet and on the LVP. The hinges for the doors are not screwed in right and doors won't close. The windows and outside doors were filthy and have no weather stripping. Neither the heat nor air worked upon move it. The high-speed internet cables were cut both within the walls and outside. The LVP has large gaps and is so dirty it makes your feet black while walking barefooted. There is no hot water to the dishwasher, and it takes 5 minutes for the kitchen tap to run hot. The doors on the new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry do not line up. The tracks for the sliding closet doors in one bedroom are falling down therefore you can either have it closed or open and leave them that way. The taps to the washer spewed water all over the room when initially turned on. One of the maintenance guys came in to shim a door that fell off the hinges and threw bits of wood all over the bed. I did find one of the last pieces in the middle of the night when I had to remove a 3-inch splinter from my thigh. Tetanus anyone? So, rating? 3 stars. If they want the prices they are asking, they should really slow down and get their money's worth from their contractors. read more

I lived here for a year and 7 months. If it wasn't for my friend buying a house, I'd still be living there. I had an upgraded single, so I can't speak on the other apartments. But I loved living here. Maintenance orders got filled very quickly and I only had to call maintenance twice in almost 2 years. Normally, I would have given a higher rating. But recent changes, have not been favorable. The location can't be beat ! In the heart of St. Matthews, but just off the busiest roads. Great shopping nearby, good school district, 2 wonderful parks, within walking distance, in a matter of a few minutes, located very close to Baptist hospital. When you enter the office, Mitchell is often the first one you see. Very friendly, always upbeat and always a delight. Represents the property well. And if you don't see him, it's likely Tony, the leasing manager. She can answer any question you have. Very knowledgeable, whether you're an existing resident or a new one. Bianca, out assistant manager, plays a more administrative role but will stop what she's doing to help. But since the arrival of our new GM, Emily, they can only do their jobs within limitations. Furthermore, so many changes, for the worse, have occurred and most have been, questionable, to say the least. I have been warned by other residents to not post an unfavorable review, as someone else in the past did and was asked to leave. I do have to mention our grounds keeper, Andy, he is such a hard worker, always pleasant and the best groundskeeper we have ever had. Since Matt has taken over the maintenance department , we finally have a fully staffed department. You can see Matt here well after 8 pm every night, and usually much later. The laundry facilities are constantly down. 1 in particular. And has been down since December. Many people have asked when it will be fixed and are always told 1-2 weeks. Waiting on a part. This came strictly from Emily. Not sure how long we are expected to believe this. And rules change, frequently, to suit them, so it seems, with no follow up. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy living here. I have the best neighbors, and am generally happy. Just seems that management, needs to be better supervised a bit better. read more

Don't waste your money. I lived here with a roommate from 2018-2019. We had issues from the start, the apartment wasn't ready for us to move into until a week later, then it wasn't ready the day of and we didn't get the keys until early evening. Then nothing in the apartment was updated like we were told it would be. It was a mess but because it wasnt ready sooner our lease had ended at the previous complex (moved because they raised their prices) and didnt have anywhere to go and they wouldnt give the deposit back so we stayed. Still had minor issues but we dealt with it. Spring comes and the ac breaks. They tell us it will take 10 days for a new one to come in and set up some type of window unit. Almost a month later it was replaced. They didn't care we had dogs and the window unit barely kept it at 80, they didn't care our electricity bill almost doubled due to them. Then the end of the lease comes. I was 7 months pregnant and moved out 6 months prior the office knew this because I advised them. I asked them to please call me when they schedule the walk through with my roommate so i could be there and sign the final paperwork. I never heard back. My roommate told me the morning of they were coming and I had to work so I called again and told them to let me know and send me the final paperwork for me to sign since I was primary on the lease and to forward the check to my address. I never heard back. Three months later I hear from my ex roommate they mailed her MY deposit check. I've called numerous times requesting to speak to management, requesting copies of the final paperwork I never signed and wanting to know if my roommate has cashed that check since they sent it to her with no response. Now I have to obtain an attorney to go after them to get the paperwork and find out if they forged my signature or allowed my roommate to forge my signature and go after them both. It is just absolutely insane. I've never had issues like this anywhere I've lived and the lack of professionalism with the main office lady is crazy. Not to mention the gym isn't great, the grounds aren't the best, it's just not worth your money. read more

Please do not rent here. My Mother spoke with a woman in the rental office for 3 months before we were to move in and the apt sounded wonderful. We did not have a car so could not drive over to see the apt and also the pandemic was going on and we were nervous about being around people. My Mother is 92 and I'm 73. Mother first had contact with this woman from Cypress Pointe in April. She led my Mother on and on and on how wonderful this apt was. She told us when it was going to be painted and when the new carpet was going to be installed. Also she told my Mother that the elderly woman who lived in this apt had lived there for about 20 years and had taken such good care of the apt. We told this woman that we would be looking at the apt on June 17, 3 days before we would officially be moving in. The woman from the rental office told us that she would inspect the apt and make sure everything was fixed and clean and ready to move in. She also told us that she would have the maintenance man check to make sure everything was fixed. In the mean time, we had paid the deposit and the pro rate rent and signed the lease. My sister drove us there and the minute I walked in the apt, I knew it was not the same apt that the woman from the rental office had spoken about. For the first thing, the front door was broken and and did not seem to close very well. The kitchen was a mess. The linoleum on the kitchen floor had holes in it and also the kitchen counter was split in two places. The cabinets looked so old inside and out, I think they were the original cabinets from 30 years ago. The front bathroom looked unusable and the back bathroom shower was covered with mold. My sister began to take pictures and I called the woman from the rental office and spoke with her, telling her everything that was wrong. She said to write everything down and I asked her did she do a walk thru as she told my Mother. She said she meant to but never got around to it. I told her we wanted everything fixed before we could move in. 3 days later, our movers moved our furniture in and could barely breathe because of a horrible smell that almost took your breath away. My Mother could not stay there because of the smell so my sister took her home with her. There was a sign taped on the wall in the dining room which said we could not move in for 4 days. Also the same sign was on the front bathroom. I had to let the movers go ahead and move the furniture into the apt, and I went to my sisters also. The next day I called Cypress pointe and told them we could not move in there and we wanted all our money back. It took awhile but we did get our money back but had to move our furniture into a much smaller apt in another apt complex that we are not happy with. So it has turned out to be very upsetting for my Mother and for me. read more

Overall living at Cypress Pointe was a pleasant experience. Great office staff, whenever I had an issue it was resolved expeditiously. Relatively close to parks, gyms and good restaurants. Most of what I needed was no more than a 10 min drive at the most. Reasonably priced considering the area and amenities. read more

I will preface this by saying that maintenance was always quick to fix issues that were sure to arise given the old appliances on the property. I stayed through a massive flood on the complex that totaled cars and ruined the entire first floor and I even stayed through car break ins. The property manager, Karen, is the absolute worst. I have lived here for two years now and the front office has been completely miserable to deal with. Our rent has been raised two years in a row way below all comparable units on the premises. The entire point of this increase is predatory rental practices to try to screw over loyal tenants. You can either go to a more expensive unit within the complex for free, pay a ridiculous transfer fee and then move across the parking lot to an identical unit that is still at market price, or you can stay in your current unit for the over market value. They are hoping that you are too lazy to move. After 2 years of never having a late payment, my rent was slated to go up to $905. This was strange to me since every comparable unit on the premises was under $800. I called Karen, office manager, to tell her that this was surely a mistake and I would be very angry when I turned in my notice and then saw my unit posted for way less. She assured me that this is the price for me to renew. My lease is set to expire on October 1st and now that same $905 unit is miraculously listed for $722. That is an extra $183 more a month or $2196 more over a year, just for being a loyal tenant. If you are certain you only want to live here for one year then this might be a decent place to consider, but if there is the slightest chance you might stay longer than that I would stay far, far away. read more

This place is absolutely terrible! I would not ever advise anyone to live here. We had nothing but issues while living here for 4 months to the point we had to break our lease early and threaten legal action. Everything in the unit was falling apart, rusty dishwashers and sinks, mold in the vents, constant leaks from the A/C units and toilets. The office manager Angela, oh boy she is something else. She accused us of tearing the apartment up, she got an attitude with us, acted immature at times, and then tried to hold our deposit from us claiming there was significant damage to the unit. After disputing the claims and threatening again to take legal action they allowed us to view the so-called damage to the unit which was not there, again after another argument we decided to meet in the middle. I would never advise anyone to even consider looking at this place as to live and really hopes the owners of the property investigate and reconsider some of their staff. I will say that the maintenance people were always courtesy and did there best to address issues but seems as if they were limited in what they were able to do because of management! Again, reconsider before ever renting a unit from this establishment. read more

I just moved from Cypress Pointe after living there a total of 12 years, ALWAYS paying my rent on time and never causing any trouble to my neighbors, etc.!! Granted I had to break my lease as I bought a condo but the new "regime" that manages Cypress didn't cut me ANY slack!! Since the new property manager came about a year ago, several WONDERFUL maintenance guys have quit or been run off by Karen, people have been moving out in droves, MANY units flooded after a bad rain in July 2015 (isn't stopping management from re-renting those units once they are dealt with and cleaned up by professionals!!) and I have heard that management is renting to ANYONE with the money to pay their rent - no credit checks, no background checks, nothing!! The whole tenor of Cypress Pointe has gone downhill since Karen took over - crime has gone up, rents have risen, the general "essence" of the place has changed and NOT in a good way! I loved living here until the new manager took over. Now I am so relieved to be gone!!! Pass on Cypress Pointe - not worth the downward spiral it is on! read more

I am currently in a lease and the community and location are great however the maintenance is non existent! It's so disappointing that NOTHING is maintained here. I pay over 1000 a month and I have several critters living in the ceiling, when I asked that is be fixed they stuffed news paper in gutters where the animals were entering, I have HUGE water spots on my wall and ceiling, and it leaks every time it rains, and my bedroom closet door is not attached so it just sits in the way in my room, the main shower had a couple tiles fall off and it was so molded that the wall started to fall in, a couple windows don't open, the list goes on and on. A lock on my back door wasn't working and my house was broke into and things were taken before they would finally come and fix the lock. It's so disappointing that this place has such terrible customer service. You would never in a million years guess that there are such problems with the complex, other than being out dated, they look pretty decent at first. I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

After living at Cypress Pointe as a perfect resident, when I moved out my security deposit was not returned because there was an area I missed when cleaning the oven and dry wall was messed up in the kitchen. Ok, about the oven--my bad, but I still don't think it's fair because my apartment was immaculate and the oven was clean with just a missed area. But the drywall!! Maintenance was recently working on the water line to the ice maker and they had to have been the ones to go through the drywall! Why would I, a middle age woman, cut through drywall?! moving here would be the worst mistake you will ever make in your life! i have only lived here for 3 months and so far the air conditioning has gone out at least 5 times. each time happened to be in the hottest weeks of the summer. the first time it broke we were without air for 7 days when it was over 90 degrees outside. The maintenance guys finally fix it and a few weeks later it breaks again. It was leaking freon and every time they came to fix it they would just add more freon and not find the problem. therefore it went unfixed until the 5th time when we literally had to raise hell to get the office staff to even acknowledge there was a problem. It is the 5th time this summer, we reported the problem over a week ago and it has still not been fixed. They keep making excuses as to why it cant go in at a certain time. or they make an appointment (which we rearranged our schedules for) just to have them make an excuse not to install the new piece. Also in the three months we have been here the deadbolt fell out of the door (yeah, real safe place, huh?). the refrigerator crisper is stuck, the door doesnt seal so everything sweats and then water leaks all over the kitchen floor. the pluming sucks. you cant rinse dishes or run water in the kitchen or bathroom sinks for more than a minute without the drains getting stopped up. The fire alarm got a short and went off at 5am two days in a row. the ceiling fans wobble. the screen on the sliding door falls off the tracks (this is at any apartment, i see them laying across peoples porches all the time). another big problem is the staff here. they seem so nice and friendly when you first visit, then as soon as you move in, they are the rudest people ever. they are never willing to do anything. (I went in over a month in advance to tell them we were moving in a day early, they said ok, we show up on move in day and they didnt have the apartment ready becuase they were too lazy to change the date on one paper.) they lie about everything. they tell you something will be here tomorrow, its over a week before its in. they say something will be fixed at this time. its not fixed for over a week, then when it is fixed it breaks again. you go in to the office to ask a question they will ALL be on lunch break in the club house and just look at you and say oh they just live here like you dont mean anything at all. and they just sit there unwilling to help. storms come through and knock parts of the fence down and the fence just lays in the grass for forever (its been about two weeks so far). its an accident waiting to happen. the railing on the stairs is also an accident waiting to happen. They are pretty much all rusted completely through and if someone falls, im sure it will just go right down with the person. Trust me. i have only lived here three months and i wish that i would have made the wise decision to pay the couple extra hundred dollars and live across the street.
