Sure enough, as soon as the transaction appeared on my bank account, the amount charged was higher than the total printed on my receipt. I had not selected or authorized an additional gratuity. That completely changed my impression of the experience. Good food, clean restaurant, great bartender--but after that, I absolutely would not return.
