Taking your car to a main dealers is usually very expensive and labour can be between (150-250) an hour. My car had been booked in twice by Williams to be fixed but cancelled by the dealers because first they couldn't get me a courtesy car at the same time as my car was due to go in. The second due to floods in Dec 2015 they told me that other people cars were priority because mine was drivable. My car went into be fixed on 25 Jan they gave me a courtesy car which was a Peugeot 208 no CD player or even a tape player. I guess modern cars don't come with these (maybe an added option) I had to pick my car up today 4 days later. The body work looked amazing and they had cleaned my car from top to bottom. The service of the garage let them down, under estimating the damage and they don't always answer the phone. I am very pleased with the body work but the service let them down. They also never had paperwork ready for me, I had to ask them for a break down of costs before i left and a certificate to say that it had been done by them. A pleasant experience the cost came to over £1,300. The majority £900 of this was labour costs which to be honest of the service has been better I wouldn't have mind the cost so much. Shame really.

As such, with the involvement of the Police and my insurer, I have fortunately been in the position to get the work fixed at zero cost to myself... Step-in Lancashire Motor Bodies, saviour of the hour and supplier of some of the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. True, I didn't have to shop around as they are the preferred repairer of my insurer, but I have to say that I was a little sceptical on first researching them as there were only a couple of aged reviews on the web (not on Yelp, obviously!) and these weren't exactly glowing. Well, my experience was different. On finding them, tucked away as they are in Salford, but only 30 seconds off Bury New Road, you could be mislead by the exterior of the business premises, as it isn't exactly glamorous, but then again, it is a car bodywork repairer! However, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They lead me through the whole process with my insurer, collected my car and delivered a courtesy car which was mine free of charge, phoned me regularly with updates on the work and again when it was finished. They even returned my car, resplendent with new front wing, fully valeted inside and out. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and think they are well worth every one of the 5 stars I'm giving them. I hope you don't require their services, but if you do, they'll look after you (and your car!).

Being in the city centre its quite convient if you drop off your car in the morning, go to the shops or check out a movie and then your car is ready. I think if you have an MOT / service they also wash the car for you (dont quote me on that one!) Cons: Since its not the largest garage in the world they sometimes dont have what you want in stock. I needed some continental tyres for my car and they had to order them in. (Admittedly it didnt take long at all for them to get them in).

There are things in life you need and thats to know a Plumber, Electrician & a Mechanic, especially a mechanic you can trust. I dropped off my little honda jazz off today with Paul. Hes a one man mechanic who is also a big fan of social media (live by the sword die by the sword) & radio star (The Car Guru on Oldham's 96.2 The Revolution). Paul made me feel very much at easy today when dropping my car off. A Very friendly bloke who explains stuff in english & doesn't confuse you with mechanical jargon. He is also "Female Friendly" approved. As a driver i'm now glad i have found somewhere where i feel i won't be ripped off.
