I called Patrick and he came out and looked at it - caulked the window a little, redid the inside frame and said it was all taken care of. Several months later, I was having lots of bugs in the porch and mice getting in my house. I called Patrick again and he told me "to hire a handyman to come and do some caulking". Again a couple months later, we have a big rain storm and the window is leaking again. Now I am putting sticky pads out there to see where these bugs and mice are coming from. I had to call multiple times with no call backs and sent multiple texts but finally Patrick called and came again - I showed him the sticky pads and he caulked the inside of the porch, caulked the window on the outside and wanted to leave it for a couple months to make sure there were no leaks. So here we are today, I called Patrick twice to see when he could come back and redo the window. Well again there is no call back. I had a contractor come look at the windows. Well, he was not surprised that the window was leaking - there is no caulking on the windows and no caulking on the new siding and now there are gaps in the siding. When I had the porch done, I also asked him to install a motion light off my garage in the front. Three months after that was installed, it quit working. When he came to see the porch I pointed out the light. He told me to get a new light and he would install it when he came back to do the window. I got the light but Patrick never showed up. So, I had to pay someone else to install the light - which I already paid Patrick for and now I have to hire someone to finish the windows in the porch the correct way.

He's currently working on a custom fireplace surround and built-in bookcase in our formal living room, and I can't wait to share updated pictures soon. Greg is a smooth talker and made it seem like it would all be good. He said payment would be due upon completion although there was no mention of this in the "contract." Turns out "Remove vanity and install custom vanity" means ripping out the large existing vanity, sink, and huge mirror and then popping down the pedestal sink THAT I BOUGHT. Period. Red flag #2: When I asked Greg about the massive drywall damage, he said "Is it in the contract?" The agreement does say he does not cover drywall repair, but this was literally left in a demo state. On Day 2, while the entire floor was ripped up with the crawlspace exposed, Greg asked me for a check. I said I planned to pay him with a credit card and it would take me a few days to move money around to give him the equivalent of cash. Day 3 he walked off the job claiming non-payment. After I calmly explained that I could not be in non-payment because no payment was due, Greg came back the next day like nothing happened... All of the insulations under the half bath was wet so it had to go. Greg did not want anything to do with replacing it. I went out and bought insulation and installed it myself. Either Greg or his plumber, Drew, cracked the first sink basin during install. Luckily Home Depot replaced it with no questions and Drew came back and installed the new one. Drew was actually great. I did all of the leg work for the return, so don't expect Greg to actually stand by his work or take responsibility for mistakes. Greg made it clear he does not do hardwood floor repair and I was fine with that. Turns out, my hardwood flooring guy discovered that there was a strange strip of plywood sub floor installed to fill a gap that was not actually supported. We found out why when he pulled it up. See photos. Don't expect structural repairs to actually connect to other structural members. Don't expect your tile OR subfloor to be level or flat. Don't expect a professional job.

I contacted NHRC and Greg came out the next day for a consultation. He quoted me a price that I thought was very good for the entire bathroom remodel. Greg and his other worker were very efficient and even though we ran into a few issues (old plumbing and uneven walls), Greg was able to troubleshoot the issues and did a fantastic job with this renovation. As you can see from the photos, the bathroom turned out beautifully! I'm very happy with the results. Greg did such a great job. I will be contacting him for future renovations. I highly recommend NHRC and Greg's remodeling services!

They stated the job would take one day, which I thought was not possible, and they required payment up front, (red flag). Steve, the owner, assured us he would ensure we were completely satisfied in the end. We also asked Steve to verify once more that they could install new stair treads and the same flooring on the stairwell landing, he stated they could handle the job. We hired them to perform the work on the stairwell as well. The installers arrived late many of the days they were working in the house, they even left early on a few days and the response from Steve was that we just needed to be patient and not rush their work. The same installers performed the work on the stairs and after the work was complete we told Steve the work did not appear to be complete. The issues were: 1. The trim along the stairs was damaged in certain areas as a result of the install, damage which they did not fix. 2. The treads were nailed in crooked on each step. 3. The previous lip holes in the trim were not filled in, sanded, nor painted. 4. The top lip was replaced with a cracked and crooked transition piece. 5. The risers were damaged and not repaired during the installation of the treads, some had nails protruding from them. 6. The finish on the treads was damaged as a result of the installers attempting to use a brush to touch up a sprayed finish and using matte finish paint on a gloss finish surface. Steve advised us that his company simply installs the tread and we would have to hire a carpenter to handle the rest. We advised NONE of this was told to us prior to the install, nor was there any paperwork provided by him outlining any limitations in what they do and don't do, he agreed to perform the work we requested which ends with a finished product. Steve refused to admit the stair treads had nail holes in them, regardless of the fact he was looking right at them. He did agree to have someone come and make the repairs we discussed, I provided him a business card of a known carpenter. The same installers returned again to perform the finishing work on the stairs and once they were complete the stairs were damaged even further than before, at this point we just told him to stop to prevent further damage. We had a two professionals look at the job and advise us the work was done incorrectly, overall pitch of the stairs was now off at both top and bottom, this has now caused a safety hazard. The treads should have been glued as well, to prevent creaking. Overall they both stated the job did not appear to be finished. This company asks for payment up front, they fail to keep their schedule and provide no contract outlining the scope of the project and or any limitations in what they will do and not do. They do not ensure customer service and change the scope of their services along the way to benefit the bottom line.

I will say that he did go above and beyond to help me find the right hinges for a fair price, and he seemed like such a nice guy! He came back a few weeks later with his caulking man (George) and also to fix some uneven cabinet doors from when he installed the soft close hinges. We went through the house and I showed him and George the areas I wanted to be re-caulked: around the kitchen counters, a powder room sink, upstairs tub and bathroom, and laundry room sink. Surprisingly, they were done in less than 90 minutes! I was outside when they finished and were getting ready to leave. Probably my mistake, but I trusted that he did a good job since he talked up George's caulking work so much. I should have gone in and taken a look myself. He didn't ask me to take a look at the work before leaving (a habit that good contractors should have, in my opinion). When I took a closer look after they left, I was very disappointed. The caulking in the kitchen was messy looking-lumpy and edges were not smooth. There were areas that had dirt stuck in the caulking and there was caulk on my tile and cabinets. Then I noticed that he overlooked the powder room. I texted him and told him so and also commented on how the caulking job was not very neat. He replied that he didn't know about the powder room, that it "wasn't on his list". We then talked on the phone, and he was incredibly defensive and insisted that I didn't ask him to caulk the powder room. Ridiculous since George had gone in there with me and even pulled some of the old caulking off and left it on the sink! He just never went back to finish the job. Earl insisted that it wasn't on his "list", but his "list" is only in his mind. He doesn't write anything down! Anyways, he defended George, saying that his work was "perfect". I was taken aback by his defensiveness and unwillingness to admit any wrongdoing. He spoke in an annoyed and rude tone to me. If a customer is unhappy with your work then you apologize and try to see what you can do to fix it. You don't get defensive and rude and basically make him/her feel like they are wrong to complain. Sheesh. I'm very sorry it turned out this way, but I'm back to looking for a new handyman.
