She's always gone above and beyond, in some cases spending her personal time researching difficult symptoms, and helping us meet each animal's medicinal and nutritional needs in a way that supports their long term health. She saved the lives of two of my cats (litter mates) who had struvite crystals, and compassionately helped us let go of two cats whose illnesses were beyond treatment. Most recently, she drove 45 minutes, accompanied by a vet tech, to my home, to gently euthanize my almost 15 year old Australian Shepherd, when his size, and severe arthritis made it impossible to get him into my car. Thanks to Dr. Fracica, his last moments were spent in the home he loved, peaceful, and without stress. I can not recommend her highly enough. She truly loves animals, and it shows in every encounter she has with them. As for the other reviews I've read here, it's difficult to understand criticism from people who haven't followed the recommended treatment plan, or can't put themselves in the place of another client whose pet needs immediate emergency care. Personally, I would appreciate that these cases are triaged based on immediate need, because the next time, it could be MY pet. Seriously, don't hesitate to trust your pet's care to Dr. Fracica. She's the best there is.

Max died in an incredibly traumatic and likely painful way -- and it haunts us. Eagles Peak in Robesonia performed surgery on Max to treat a bleeding splenic mass. Dr. Mike reassured me that the splenectomy could potentially extend his life significantly. I had hesitations, but after those reassurances, I agreed. I dropped Max off for surgery the next morning. We were told the surgery was successful. Max was brought out to us shortly after 11:30 AM, visibly bleeding from his incision. When asked about the bleeding, the staff said some drainage was normal. Max was so weak he had to be carried to the car. Within 15 minutes of getting home, Max was nonresponsive. Blood poured from his surgical site and covered the car. He was bleeding internally so heavily that the blood forced its way through the incision. We rushed him to an emergency vet, but he had lost too much blood. He had to be euthanized within an hour of being discharged. We were never told that 24/7 monitoring is standard after a splenectomy. We weren't offered transfer to a facility that could provide that. The emergency vet expressed concern that Max had been sent home so soon. Had we known what was typical for a case like this, we never would've taken him home. We've had no follow-up call, no expression of sympathy, and no answers. We were left to clean blood out of the car while trying to explain to our son why our dog died in pain. If you're looking for a vet that truly communicates all options and offers clear, compassionate guidance -- we urge you to consider that experience may vary. We are devastated and regret the outcome deeply.

Oh how we wish we had know about Dr Heather before. She is a combination of a goddess and an angel, with the education and experience to make her the epitome of what a vet should be. Her clinic squeezed us in during a very busy time, because we were frantic, yet we were treated with incredible compassion and respect. All of the staff there channel this kind of professionalism, which shows what good leadership and management do. They can do x-rays in house and immediate blood work, which is important in critical situations, and sometimes it is hard to know how fast things can become critical. (Make sure your own vet can do this!) Dr. Heather is the kind of person who will take in disabled and needy animals into her own home and give them a chance when no one else would. She has a background of shelter and rescue work. The clinic stayed open hours later to help us find a way to take our kitty home. When nothing worked, they helped us to make the right decision to let her go and cried with us at this unexpected tragedy. Maybe you heard the sobbing and wailing from your house. Feline leukemia is a terrible thing. :-(

Prior to leaving, I inquired about the cost, and the attendants informed me that the total would be $95. I agreed, understanding that my dog was indeed a bit overgrown, although I anticipated a slightly higher fee. After two hours, I returned to collect my Yorkshire Terrier. At that point, Carolyn the owner assisted me this time and started to suggested that I consider neutering my dog, explaining that his overgrown condition required more extensive work than she had initially expected. She then informed me that the charge would now be $115 instead of the previously quoted $95. I expressed my concern, stating that had I been notified of the price change, I could have made an informed decision about whether to proceed. I had brought $100 with me, which included a $5 tip, and informed her that I would prefer to settle for that amount, after which we could part ways amicably. However, she aggressively refused to return my dog, which led me to contact the authorities. She provocatively remarked that I could call the police, as she was familiar with them. When the police arrived, I explained the situation to them, and they went inside to speak with her. They later returned to confirm that I had signed a paper regarding my appointment, which was irrelevant since I had attended without any missed appointments. They advised me to pay her in order to retrieve my dog. Upon re-entering the premises, Carolyns continued to insult me, claiming that the grooming costs were significantly higher than what I was prepared to pay, despite it being the price I was initially quoted. I left in frustration, especially after she insinuated that I should contact ICE immigration authorities. In response, I defended myself, making it clear that I am a U.S. citizen. I wish to highlight this experience as a warning for immigrants who may seek grooming services at Carolyns pretty pups. The treatment I received was not only rude but also discriminatory and exploitative. I will not return to her establishment, nor will I recommend her services to anyone; I intend to leave reviews wherever possible to share my experience.
