I started with Rapid Resolve and Yelp gave me the option of sending my request out to other vendors as well. Sure, why not I figured. Honestly I didn't even need or communicate with anyone else. Rapid Resolve got back to me super quick with a quote ($250 base rate) and I scheduled the pick up for today. I sent my request out earlier this week with a specific date I needed pickup as my new couch is also coming today. The other quotes coming back either declined the pick up or were the same price, for those curious. The communication from the first message to the pick up was pure perfection. It was quick, friendly, helpful and just amazing. I tend to stress over things like this and having a very fast answer really gave me no time to worry. And the communication throughout the whole process was this way. They confirmed my appointment. They sent a reminder. They even sent a text when they were 5 minutes out this morning. They were on time, they were quick, they were friendly... this was the easiest process EVER and I am so grateful. I was able to pay with a credit card which was awesome. I intended to pay with cash but I didn't have a chance to get to the bank, so I wanted to make sure I could still tip so having the option to use a credit card was appreciated. (I did also ask, currently they do not take Venmo). Also, I live in an apartment which is not always easy for items like this. Space is limited. They were very respectful of my space and items on my porch and in my home. Paid, tipped, offered them both a bottle of water and that was it. Even though this was a small project for Louie- for me enlisting any contractor is mind wrecking given my past horrible experiences. That is why I do most things myself now - but moving tons of dirt is definitely out of my wheelhouse! Other guys I talked to about the project were either an hour late to show up even after calling to remind them, bad communicators, or just didn't seem trustworthy in their mannerisms. The last guy I had in my yard to remove sod and level to grade I had to call back a third time to finish and actually worked in the mud with his crew to get things halfway acceptable all the while disparaging him like a child in front of his guys pointing out all the incompetence and terrible work. Louie from Affordable Demo was different. He was a professional all throughout my time around him. He was able to fit me in during the holiday season between his larger projects, he showed up on time (!!) to view the project, and was an A+ communicator throughout. His team of guys were also nice and respectable and left my property cleaner then it was when they arrived.
