Please read this whole review the two stars are not related to the work that was done! My friend and I went for gel manicures. It was late afternoon , we had a short waiting time maybe ten minutes then got seated together. We both work in the medical field and noticed right away that the pouch that held the tools they were going to use on her was sealed but the indicator strip showed that it was NOT sterilized. My tools were brought in open on a tray. So both our toolkits were at most sanitized... This is not what I'm used to from my regular salon. Both ladies worked swiftly yet thoroughly on our nails. My friends finger started bleeding a little when her cuticle was cut. Both our manicures came out nicely and it's been a few days now. My low rating is because of the poor hygiene we witnessed and because we had the impression that it was not so clean overall ( dusty etc) not the work that was done. read more

Went for pedicure and nails. Many differant pedicures to choose from. I had a deluxe pedi (30) and my husband had the $38 one. He got to choose a special scent of stuff they would use where I did not get too. He also got hot stones with his. They did a fantastic job. My nails look fantastic. They are a pink/white ombré. The gentleman at the front service table did them. I guess he was the owner. I am very satisfied with the services we received and we will be back. My nails were pricy but they do look fantastic! The salon was very clean and sanitary. In the pedicure tubs they used liners and each person had new supplies. They were busy for a Tuesday afternoon. Worth the wait. read more

Overall, the place itself is amazing. I prefer Katie over Eric. Eric is rough, he doesn't make sure he does your nails to the best of your ability, and he doesn't make sure you leave out with the best customer service. Katie is sweet, she talks to you, makes sure you get what you want, and takes her time. Took me a hour and 20 mins to get my nails done by Eric, only took 30-40 minutes with Katie. (My first time doing SNS) and KATIE is the one doing them and KATIE is the one I'll be asking for every time I come to D&N Nails!!! NANCY, did my pedicure when I first came in 4-5 weeks ago! She did a great job!!!! My polish never chipped, and my feet was soo soft when I left!! Unfortunately she wasn't the one doing my pedicure today, however, SON (that's his name) is doing a great job and I could have him do my pedicure again too!! When I asked for SNS nails the nail tech had no idea what I was talking about at first. When I explained what it was he acted like I was stupid for wanting to get SNS and insisted I get acrylics. He was rude the entire time, while he was prying off my original nail polish a piece flew off and hit the lady who was sitting beside me and he didn't even apologize. When I went to pay I accidentally typed in $.10 as the tip instead of $10.00. I would never tip such a low amount on purpose, but before I even had the chance to explain myself the man checking me out said in a very harsh tone, "you're only tipping me 10 cents?" I explained that I had made a mistake and asked if I could use my card a second time to tip him the 10 dollars. He made me feel very uncomfortable with the way he confronted me. He glared at me and called over who looked to be the owner of the store to help me. After I gave my tip I received no acknowledgment at all, just a second stern look from the man who did my nails. I tried to give the guy who did my nails a break since everybody makes mistakes sometimes, but after the 3rd time being cut, after telling him he was hurting my nails, I started to get upset. He laughed and asked me if I was going to cry from all the bleeding & grabbed my finger and pressed on it with his bare hands covered in dip powder that made it sting even worse. After washing my hands, he then tried to pluck a hangnail that I told him to leave alone, insisting that it bothered him and he had to get it for me. Then he overcharged me & laughed it off after the total was different when I had him redo the math on the calculator in front of me. Good thing I noticed before I paid. Me and two male friends were able to walk in for spa manicures. One of my guys wanted, no, needed(!) the massage chairs! The guys both got the jelly pedicures while I opted for the royal pedicure with the green tea for detox!! One of the guys loved the jelly and said it was like his feet was in oatmeal. With their jelly pedicures, they had a peppermint masque put on their legs with a hot stone massage after!! The royal pedicure had the sea salt foot soak, a sugar scrub, masque (all in the green tea!! They had other scents too!) followed with a hot stone massage! I was not expecting this kind of treatment in Augusta, GA! I'm from southern Cali and was hugely impressed with the service we received! Moved here from Atlanta and I've been searching for a salon to start going to for SNS and pedicures. Tried D&N today and loved my pedicure experience! My technician didn't like my polish choice for my toes and suggested nicer options that I went with- she was funny and great with checking in with me. She talked me into a jelly pedicure and I fell in love for serious. I will keep coming back for sure for these pedicures! My SNS manicure came out nicely but felt that there was like color options. I also like the way my technician checked in with me on length and shape. Felt that it was a tad rough but nothing to cry about, and some nails are a teensy bit uneven- nothing that is super distracting though. The immediately had chairs available for us and we sat down. There were a few other people in the shop so they started on one of us and told us that they would be with us as soon as possible. This was no problem and I really appreciated the kindness and them letting me know. The technicians were nice and did great work on my feet. They were not very chatty and provided a nice relaxing experience. We were also offered drinks while in our chair and that was nice as well. I had an appt at 5:30 for a fill, and when I got there, Vu took care of me. I had changed my mind and wanted a style change instead of a fill in. They weren't busy, so it wasnt a problem. One of my hands is slightly paralyzed which makes the process a bit harder at times. Vu made me feel completely comfortable, and did an amazing job. I have gotten my nails done at several places in several different cities, and never had anyone pay so much attention to detail or take so much pride in their work. My first visit was very nice! I had Yen and she gave me a very nice mani and pedi. She was super sweet and polite. My second visit was horrible...a guy named Vu gave me a mani and pedi. First of all he tried to trim my tiny toe nails with a clipper large enough to do an elephants toes and wondered why it was painful! It was so large he could not get it under the toenails to clip them. The leg massage was very minimal and forgettable. Moving on to the manicure....he walked to the sink and put some COLD water in a bowl to soak my nails...no cream or soap...just cold water. He cut and filed my nails and then told me to wash my hands...not even a hint of an arm and hand massage. Applied the clear polish I requested and I left. The polish peeled off in sheets.
