Went in for Gel X fill. was not met with any type of greeting of the day instead " do you have an appointment". I said no and she said she would call the receptionist. The receptionist came out and started flipping through the schedule book and I said, before that can you confirm that you do Gel X nails, another tech confirmed they do but only certain techs do them. I came in to try Stillwater Nail Spa after reading all the rave reviews, unfortunately I left disappointed. I came for a soak off and a basic manicure with no polish. An e-file was used to take off my old gel, and I think it damaged my nails even though I requested a soak off. My nail tech heavily buffed my nails and now they are super dry, brittle, and thin. the manicure itself was very poorly done. The cleaning up of the cuticle was horrible. I had left over dust from the gel polish and left over when I left the salon.Two tools were used on me that did not come from the sterilizer packet, this was the final straw for me. Pleasant over all experience but in terms of the actual nail polish that was applied the job was below average (even among the few times that I do get my nails done). Pros: - nice nail ladies - very nice atmosphere - was clean and smelled very nice Cons: - the edges of the polish that was applied was not even - I do a more even edge when I do my own nails at home - there were bubbles in one of my nails And the blond reception lady who handled the front desk was kind of strange. I have to give this place a glowing review, because I never would have found it if not for the recommendation of a friend! I'm new to the area and rely on Yelp and other review venues, and the lack of a presence here meant that I never would have found my new favorite nail salon. How are they different from other local nail salons? 1. No built in basins. This is brilliant, because in spite of whatever plastic bag you think is keeping you safe, the majority of the crud you are trying to avoid is in the jets NOT covered by the baggie. This makes for a much more hygienic soak. 2. House made bath bombs with the aromatherapy pedi. Glorious! 3. Zoya nail polish. It's 5-free, and a more natural alternative to the brands you see in most salons. 4. They offer lovely Teavana tea or water during your treatment 5. Friendly service! 6. Individual nail tools (file, buffer, etc.) that you get to take home. Knowing that I am getting a fresh set is more important to me then getting to take them home. After visiting numerous nail salons(seems like there is one in every strip of storefronts) and going to the same ones for a few times, I have found the best one! Even though it was clean before COVID-19, it is even cleaner now and further precautions are taken, like requiring customers to wear masks, sanitizer is handy and it is by appointment only. She went in and they gave her grief and said no way she had it done 5 days ago. I didn't even bother going to ask them to fix mine since they gave my friend so much trouble. Everyone is polite and professional. It is clean, and they have a great selection of services. Manicures, pedicures, massage, waxing, you can get a chair massage while you have your nails done! I did a manicure and gel nails. My nails look beautiful. The manicurist took her time to make sure may nails were even and helped advise me on colors. I was not rushed in any way. I walked in on a Thursday morning, and was able to be seen right away, but they quickly got busy.. I was told that usually it is hard to walk in and that they recommend making appointments. I could see why by the time I left. Wellness nails was a bit more than what I had been paying- but the quality of work and service was worth the extra money. Absolutely the best place for an all natural body relaxation and nail healthy experience. Get your mind, body, and spirit rejuvenated all in one visit. From the time you enter, the staff waits on you and tends to your needs. You are asked to pick out your nail colors (if you want color), your herbal additions for your pedicure, and then offered a cup of hot tea or bottle of water. Your pedicure is given with a sugar scrub, a mud mask, and callus cream on your feet.... and then a lotion and essential oil rub down. I had the paraffin too, which was absolutely amazing. Your feet are coated in the paraffin, wrapped up, and then snuggled into heat booties for about 30 minutes. The first thing I want to say about this place is that it's freaking awesome!  This establishment smelled amazing and not like any "normal" nail salon!  My friend and I visited and she is very sensitive to chemical smells and usually has to pregame a salon visit with migraine medication, but not this time!  She was so happy, and so was I!  Well since this was our first time visiting we tried the aroma pedicures (which they gave us at 20% off since it was our first times).  They have different herbal blends on a chalk board that you can choose from or you can choose your own mixture. I chose "Energy" which is a eucalyptus and mint blend. For the pedicures, the recliners you sit in are ridiculously comfortable and you have a pillow in case you need it (I did as I'm a bit short).  The pedicure itself was great. Maria did mine and was quiet most of the time, but we did chat a bit and she was lovely (I showed her pictures of my dogs ). So the aroma pedicure...  Splurge on this if you're able to!  I don't even know what happens with "normal" pedicures here, and I probably never will.  We first picked the colors we wanted (there is a wall to the right as soon as you come in with what seems like 100+ colors to choose from). We were seated and our foot baths were brought out. They are buckets with one time use liners. There aren't any water jets (because of the liner), but I also know that I won't get a foot infection from this place, so I'm down. The water was very warm, but not too hot, and had the eucalyptus and mint herbal mix I requested, it smelled amazing. Then they added a fizzy bath bomb to the mix!  My feet soaked for a few minutes and then Maria started to work her magic. With the aroma pedicure I got a leg and foot sugar scrub (probably my favorite part to be honest) and a mask on my legs that were then wrapped. While my legs were wrapped Maria started to work on my nails. She trimmed and evened them out and worked on my cuticles. She also scrubbed the bottom of my feet, getting rid of any dead skin.  Before putting the polish on my nails, Maria rinsed the mask off my legs and gave my legs and feet a 10 minute massage (there was a timer involved) with mint essential oils (you have a few to select from, but I stayed in my theme). It felt phenomenal as well.  Afterwards, Maria used the polish I chose and gave me the buffer and file she used on  my feet and nails.  My friend and I sat in the recliners while we waited for our nails to dry (Maria checked the polish once but it still wasn't completely dry). We did seem to wait a good while, but I prefer this instead of being rushed out with wet nail polish.  Checking out was a breeze, they accept cash and card. I paid with cash and my friend with card, and I heard her remarking about how you can tip from your card as well (I think there are automatic percentage tips or you can type in your own by way of tablet). Also, there is a "punch card" for this place! Am I getting yogurt or something? This is even more awesome! Overall, I'd say visit this place if you're trying to find a nail salon. Sure, it's a little more pricey than others in the area, but you're paying for natural ingredients and a friendly staff. I could have stayed there all day, it smelled so lovely! I know I just wrote a small novel, but I am THAT excited about the place. They will definitely be getting my business in the future! read more
