After D&R Press was highly recommended to me by a co-worker several years ago, I have trusted Dave and Daryl with a variety of sign needs. From sending a portfolio of sample materials to promptly sending beautiful and detailed proofs and prototypes of my projects, D&R Press has made creating custom signs a straightforward, transparent, and timely endeavor. For our most recent project, I simply sent them photos of a sign I wanted to emulate and provided my own dimensions and desired alterations, and they sent multiple prototypes and options based on their extensive (decades of) experience and expertise. I was very impressed that only from a couple photos they knew exactly the materials and manufacturing methods required to replicate the sign. #59 of 2017 Needed to get illustrations printed to display at the convention show. I needed a professional job. I needed a shop specializing in graphic design that understood the production process on our end without knowing our industry. When I walked in here I was overwhelmed with the old retro elements like a mimeograph, type set machines, beaten and worn solid wood furniture from the turn of the century. I felt I was more in a museum than a print shop. I got the warm fuzzies, and that's good. David was able to help us to 100% satisfaction. He understood our concerns and needs. He also explained we could use another type of paper he carries to improve our product quality. And the price was very competitive to what I've paid. When I saw the final product I was very pleased. So glad to find someone knowledgable, customer friendly and could take care of our rush job in the 2hour time limit. What ever your printing project is don't mess around. I specifically was searching sublimation prints on hoodies for personal merchandise and was led to believe this company could provide such services. It could be considered my mistake for not verifying if they do or do not use the sublimation process before paying their invoice. The product I received was not what I was looking to complete, nor what I asked for and in fact was looking to avoid entirely (heat press printing). I believe because of their extended knowledge of printing processes beyond my own they figured I wouldn't be able to tell the difference and went ahead in overcharging me for a process cheaper than the one I was seeking. read more

Probably the best quality of this business is that you can be as involved or uninvolved in the design and print process as you like, and the product will be measured to fit your budget, style, purposes, and timeline. If you want to do the design, layout, color pallet, etc., the staff here will invite you to work right along with them step by step. If you are here because you need someone with expertise to put something phenomenal together for you, D&R has excellent graphic design and press professionals who will gather intel about your desired final product and create a blueprint for you that they'll tweak until you feel it's phenomenal. I used this company for all of the paper products involved in my wedding: save-the-date cards, invitations, programs, signs, guestbook cards, thank-you cards, and wedding announcements. In my case, these were really piece-y, unconventional print materials, and D&R knocked the whole project out of the park. Ultimately, this is a very honest business with excellent turnaround time, quality of product, and customer service. D&R press designed and printed our wedding invitations (Invitation, RSVP, and envelopes). They had a wide range of paper options and design options, but we decided to create our own design with Justine (one of the designers). Justine worked with us through many different mock ups until we found the one that we LOVED! We are located in Wheeling IL so we appreciated the opportunity to design and communicate with the D&R team over the phone and via email so we didn't have to stop by the office at every step. WOW! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company! I have had two jobs completed by D & R. The first was a book- an art book- that was scanned, printed and hard cover bound a few years ago. The results were amazing and professional. The book turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I was concerned about the artwork losing quality and definition by being scanned in and it actually looked better scanned than in person! The other project was a recent holiday gift that of course, I waited until the last minute to get printed. Daryl and the team came through and not only got it done on time, but a few days early. I have used D&R for two different projects now for work. The first was a graduation program and the second was a more complex project. I needed small pocket phone cards created that were laminated. We had done these in-house previously but I'm so glad we went with D&R this year! The staff was very PATIENT as I think we made edits about five times after the first proof was given to us. Every time, the staff made the correction and sent another proof (it was a mistake on our end each time, not theirs). Our document also came out blurry and the staff was able to enhance the font so it looked perfect for a small extra fee. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. read more

D & R Press really helped me out today! I needed to scan a document and email it to someone pronto - and my printer was not working! I'm new to the area and had no idea where to go to get this done. I remembered seeing D & R's storefront, as they are located near my condo on W Grand Ave. I figured it was a rather odd request, but thought maybe for a fee they'd do it. Well, I walked in and told Ray my situation. I think I must have seemed a little frazzled, because he told me, "Sure we can do this. Go ahead and have a seat." I was in and out of there in no time at all, and Ray didn't even charge me! Most places would have come up with SOMETHING they could have charged me. It was SO kind of them! After knowing the quality and people at D&R Press, I didn't think twice on where I would get my nieces Quinceañera invitations printed...there was no viable option coming close to D&R. ONCE AGAIN, they delivered and I'm super stoked with the results. They are every bit as attentive and detail oriented as they were the first time and had amazing response times. It would take them a day and sometimes just a couple of hours to respond. That's a HUGE help when you're tight on time. After I placed my order, it only took 3-4 days before they were ready for pick up!! This time around I got to work with Dave, which I'm pretty sure I drove nuts with all the quote requests and changes. But, he remained every bit the courteous professional. After seeing that my original request was slightly out of my budget, they were quick to ask what my budget was so that my original plan could possibly be tweaked in order to fit in my budget. How AWESOME is that?!?! I was relieved to work around some minor changes so that I didn't have to change my design much. You will NEVER find that kind of help ordering invitations or other printed material online! I got the joy of working with Justine again, the art director, once again, coming through and adding the special touches that just created the prettiest Quinceañera invitations a little girl could ask for. She jumps right in and gets on board with your vision. There isn't anything I asked that she wasn't able to do. Theres just no substitution for the one on one and personal design time they give their customers. You're not another order in their queue, you're their valued customer and they really DO care that your vision of an invite or printed material is created to look it's best. They charged a lot of money for work that is not adequate. I have some of the work that they did for me that I hate but will use them because of all the money I spent with them. A lot of it, I already threw away. They would have charged even more to redo it. I am hoping to go through the work that they did ASAP and then take it to someone else to redo. Waste of money. I brought some documents there for some simple corrections. In moving the pages, they end up with a document full of typos that I end up passing out that way to people. my daughter was married this past November and it was a military wedding - so we had to have her now husband get through all the military paperwork to get the leave signed and a wedding date set. This did not leave us with much time to get the invitations printed and sent. We went to D&R on a recommendation and worked with David on picking out what was wanted and the wording so once the date was set we could get them printed quickly. David knows his business and was able to assist us with all our questions and set us in the right direction on what was needed. She picked beautiful invitations and we waited. It was five days before my daughters wedding and we did not have favors for the tables. This particular morning I woke up with an idea to get special candy bars and have them wrapped with a fancy label. I found a vendor for the bars but now I needed the labels. After searching for a business that would be in my budget I was led to D& R Press. Darryl answered the phone and heard the urgency in my voice. He immediately started working on it.
