We went for a birthday party for one of my son's friends, and they did an excellent job. The party had probably 30+ children (with parents) and there were 3 team members, so a decent ratio of adults to children. Parking outside was a bit of a challenge - the facility is on a side street with industrial style buildings common in parts of edmond, but there was limited parking close to the door of the gym. The party was just under two hours and having been to hundreds of children's birthdays over the years, I liked their approach. They started with a demo in one area, and had all the kids line up and go through the activity. Then, onto 2-3 other demos, before it was open gym time. For the most part, my son found a lot to do and frequented his favorite activities. We did this for the next hour or so, then stopped for cake, singing, and pizza for 30 minutes or so. Then, they opened the gym back up for about 20 min of free play. The staff was warm and attentive - a younger adult man seemed to be the team lead assisted by a young teen boy, and a girl who could have been high school or early college age. A few children had some bumps and mishaps but no biggie. The girl who attended the party didn't speak professionally to my child as they inspected his shoes for icing or cake to renter the gym. He didn't understand how she wanted him to lift and then his feet for inspection (that is a little tricky!) and she got short with him in her tone of voice and body language. She frustratedly said, "NO - this way, you GOOF! THIS WAY." Yikes - a bit harsh and unnecessary. I was suuuuuper close to saying, "you don't need to speak to him that way - he's just 6 and trying to understand how to help you." - but I didn't. I figure it can't be the easiest job to be a children's birthday party attendant. She also repeatedly called the children, "kiddos." - it was just a bit odd. We would be interested in returning for another party, open gym or class - my son adored the experience. In fact, he has declared his next birthday will be there!

Our group had such a great time competing against each other and laughing at our wipeouts! We had a range of people from every day gym people to never seen a gym people and everyone had fun. They have the warped wall, the spider wall, salmon ladder, rings, ropes, balance obstacle... if you've seen it on America ninja warrior they probably have it! They have an open night on Friday nights were you can just play around if you don't rent it for a party!

This country club is by far the worst one I've been to. Ever. We had a large event here (about 200…read morepeople), and we ran into so many different issues! We usually host our event at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club but we decided to give this place shot. Really regretting that foolish decision. The staff was very rude and seemed like they all hated their job. The manager who was helping us was even ruder, believe it or not. The AC stopped working, basically the entire time we were there. The food was supposed to be served at 7:15 and it was served at 7:45. Ladies from their country club (wearing jeans at our black tie event) kept coming into our event and drinking on our tab. The event manager and employees were so unprofessional. I am not sure how they let that happen. The staff started picking up our items at 11:30pm even though our event was supposed to end at midnight. They took our drinks (including water), whether we were done or not. I am so disappointed! For such an expensive venue, I expected at least decent service. I would like to reiterate how rude the event manager was that "helping" us. I will make sure to get her name and add it to this post. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOSTING ANY EVENT HERE. Unless you want a terrible experience that's not worth the cost.

When you arrive, you are asked to sign a waiver and they walk you through the payment/membership options. Next, you get your cimb shoes and then they do a tour of the facility. Once that is finished, it's time for your wall climbing training. Sean was our trainer and he was very knowledgeable about climbing and the proper way to fall. He assisted us often and encouraged us to try different walls. My daughter and I completed 3 climbs, which we were very proud of ourselves for the first time. Our hands are sore, but we had a great time and this was a great workout.

There's even a fitness area upstairs but its limited to members only. I really dig the Blocworks aesthetic since the colors of the holds look balanced imo and are generally standardized grade-wise across both this gym and the OG Edmond location. The parking situation isn't really intuitive though, and you're supposed to park in the adjacent lot to the side of the building, and not directly across the gym front, though I had friends who parked there w/o issue too, though I'm not gonna risk it. There's ample paved parking as well as a dirt lot that's right in front of an apartment complex. If you're just getting started at this gym, or climbing in general, there's a steal of a 2-week offer at like $35? where you can climb an unlimited amount of days even with included shoe rental. So take advantage of this, I wish I did last year, oh well. They offer a lot of deals throughout the year too, so if you're unsure of the annual pricing, you can watch out for those discounts. So hype this sweet addition is adding to the OKC climbing community~
