The waiting room has a giant play area for kids at one corner of the building. There are lots of seats and a television monitor. The office is next to subway. We found lots of parking in the strip mall. The desk staff was patient and polite. The dentist was easy going and kind. He put me at ease and showed me the X-rays. Technology has improved a lot since having to bite down on cardboard decades ago. I felt included in the conversation and had a list of specialists to call for the next step. Prior to him visiting the new dentist, he asked them for a copy of his X-ray and they lied to him and stated they don't keep them. What dentist doesn't keep copies of patient's X-rays? They were very kind when it was necessary for my mom to have dental work done. She is a senior citizen and they treated her as if she could have been one of their parents. They treated her with respect and dignity. The dentist was very personable, she talks to her patients and seems willing to explain with details how she can solve whatever issues that comes up. The whole staff was very helpful. My only complaint is that I traveled, found parking and found out that there was a very high copayment. If they had communicated this information before we arrived there would not have been a need to reschedule. That's the only reason I didn't give them five stars. Parking can be challenging and a bit confusing in the area because of the signage. The neighborhood is changing , on one side of the street you can find a corner store that's been around forever and in less than a block a Starbucks. High rise apartments and liquor stores are sharing the same block. I hate dentist by nature but this office is okay.

So I paid the out of pocket of $350 and did the cleaning. Two months later they said the insurance actually won't cover it and I owe another $550. Typically there is more transparency if you're taking a gamble with the insurance company and you may have to pay more. The insurance company denied the claim because there was no evidence of the cleaning needed....so why was it presented to me as critical? It's beyond frustrating to put your trust in a new medical professional and then feel like you're oversold for them to make a profit from either the insurance company or the patient individually.
