Portofino is a lovely small town. It's world-famous and gets lots of visitors. Because of Covid-19…read morethere were less people here than usual, but still plenty. Because of its fame and location the prices are on the higher side. And that's also the case here at this restaurant. It's close to the shore, but not directly (where the restaurants are worse). But it's located on the charming small street "Via Roma". Staff was really friendly and caring. The set-up is very nice, typical Italian feeling, but not cheesy. There are interesting items on the menu, wine by the glass or bottles. Since I was driving we took one glass of white wine each. Very good. We ordered the curry-style Gnocchi, mussels gratinated with tomatoes and cheese and the baby squid stew. All dishes were very good indeed. Gnocchi curry style sounds like an abomination to italian food, but was a great match. The mussels were fresh and plenty - very well priced this one. The squid were fresh as well, perfectly cooked and tender. But for 20 Euro on the upper end of the price list. You know when you visit Portofino that you will pay for it. If you are aware of that, then you will enjoy this town and this restaurant. Food was great. We paid 60 Euros. Of course you will pay less for the same in a countryside mom'n'pop Trattoria. But we enjoyed it nonetheless.

Delicious and not expensive. Excellent salad options for vegetarians and of course plenty of fish on menu for pescatarians! Half litre of vino e solamemente 7 euros. Increibile! E buono. Very crowded on weekends in season, of course. Mista insalate e buono e anche i dolci. Il

Made a reservation for the evening and came here at 8.30pm. Somehow our reservation got lost, but they managed to find us a table anyway. Our Bulldog was welcome as well. Staff and owner were all very friendly and took care of us well. The place was full that night, but the meals came out quickly. Ordered a plate of cold meat and cheese and a plate of fried anchovies. The cheese and meat were of nice quality and good sized. Really nice were the anchovies. We liked the way they were prepared, had a similar dish in Calabria a few years ago. Love it. For the mains we ordered the fried seafood and a the Trofie Genovese. The fried seafood was good, but honestly we've had better before. The pasta on the other hand was very nice. Trofie are a nice kind of pasta, pretty heavy and filling. Great Pesto Genovese. A Tiramisu for dessert. And that one was very very good. It's easy to find Tiramisu. But hard to find really good ones. And this one here was great. Had a bottle of red wine with. Matched very well and good priced below 20 Euros. All items were priced very well, a night out here wont' break your budget. It was a pleasant dinner. Good, honest food. But was it the best food in town during our stay? No. But enjoyable and worth the money.

Take your business elsewhere - this restaurant could care less about the service and will go out of their way to defend themselves aggressively. Obvious hate towards Americans is displayed here. We will let everyone we know who travels to Rapallo and Liguria to avoid this restaurant like the plague - they have overwhelming toxic hate towards Americans. Hopefully karma catches up with them!

The food was okay, but the kitchen got two out of six orders completely wrong and the other four…read moreorders included elements that one should never see in a restaurant: burnt black pizza crust, a rancid mussel, and ineptly cut and presented seafood mushed atop pizza. We were on a family outing and very hungry, butwe had to wait an hour before the first dish appeared, even bough the restaurant was half empty. When the baby's pasta finally arrived it was too salty to eat and was missing it's cheese topping A water glass had a long crack in it. Food came, was found to be "wrong" and disappeared for several minutes, only to appear again with the missing element (tomatoes, in one case) heaped on. Nice waitress, but she offered no condolences. The bill was exorbitant for a meal we could have gotten at many take-away restaurants for one-third the price and triple the quality. Do yourself a favor and do not under any circumstances patronize this place. It was a depressing end to an otherwise lovely day at the water.
