Luckily, we stumbled across L'Isolotto, tucked away on a side street, just a couple hundred feet from the main square. After checking out their menu posted outside, we were thrilled to see some fairly reasonable prices for wine, pizza, pasta, seafood, etc. We scored a lovely table on their outdoor patio and enjoyed a couple liters of vino frizzante -- perfect for a warm, sunny day on the Italian Riviera. Our group of 3 shared a few different things, all of which were pretty tasty! The focaccia stuffed with cheese was our antipasti, followed by frito misto (mixed fried fish, one of our fave Italian dishes when close to the shore!) and a pizza with spicy salami. Gnocchi curry style sounds like an abomination to italian food, but was a great match. The mussels were fresh and plenty - very well priced this one. The squid were fresh as well, perfectly cooked and tender. But for 20 Euro on the upper end of the price list. You know when you visit Portofino that you will pay for it. If you are aware of that, then you will enjoy this town and this restaurant. Food was great. We paid 60 Euros. Of course you will pay less for the same in a countryside mom'n'pop Trattoria. For the mains we ordered the fried seafood and a the Trofie Genovese. The fried seafood was good, but honestly we've had better before. The pasta on the other hand was very nice. Trofie are a nice kind of pasta, pretty heavy and filling. Great Pesto Genovese. A Tiramisu for dessert. And that one was very very good. It's easy to find Tiramisu.
