Cheese plate

Up the stairs (a lot of stairs) from Punto Regina hotel is Da Gabrisa. I was looking for a place we could sit outside and see a beautiful ocean view. We found it here. Sitting is a little odd in that the road sits between the outdoor tables and the restaurant, but the cars drove more carefully and later at night it wasn't as busy. The food was excellent. Everyone raved about their meals. I chose the sea bass (branzino) and it was excellent. It had a nice seared top but the fish was flaky and tasty. It came with potatoes and grilled veggies. It was so good. One person at our table wasn't sure about the coffee fettuccine noodles. No problem to substitute homemade spaghetti. We started the dinner by sharing 2 cheese plates among 6 people. It was just the right amount of food to start. The cheese was presented by age. All quite excellent. We also each got a chef's special of deep fried pizza. The bread was so good as well. A great compliment to the meal. Everyone got dessert at our table and all the sweets were enjoyed. Service was excellent. We were very well taken care of, including small wraps for all who were feeling chilly sitting outside. Excellent experience!

A great place to get a beautiful view of the town. The food was pricey but that's typical in Positano. Our waiter would be hard to track sometimes but overall the experience was nice. I ordered the ravioli and my fiancé ordered the lobster pasta. Both were great and we got complementary bread sticks and mini calzones.

This was one of the best meals I've had in Italy. This was a veal cheek with a potato croquette that was stuffed with cheese. The veal cheek was beyond tender, seasoned and the sauce was amazing. The service was amazing and of course the view of Positano was incredible. If you're in positano, this is a MUST visit restaurant. One last thing, I've had so many caprese salads and this was far the best as well. The tomato's were seasoned and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious.

Nice view, good service, and the food was Decent. Not the best food we've had in Italy but the apps and one of our dishes (the ravioli) were very good. My cannoncini was just okay.

This is by far the best restaurant in Positano. Everything is outstanding, from the view out over the water and city below that takes your breath away to the kindness and personal attention of the staff, this restaurant is unmatched. We ate there on multiple nights because the food was so good we dreamed about it. Just thinking about the meal I wish I were back there already. Why are you still reading this?! Go make a reservation already. You'll be so glad you did.

Delicious evening dinner. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and staff was more than accommodating. Chef prepared an amuse bouche GF and DF for me and brought out a piping hot GF roll (one of the best I've had). While we were not able to sit outside and watch the sunset, the interior of the restaurant was pleasant. What to order: Apps: - Eggplant Parm (eggplant parm in a burrito form - genius) (not allergen-friendly) - Roasted Octopus over polenta with olives and tomatoes (GF and DF) Entrees: - Ravioli with spring veggies and ricotta (not allergen friendly) - Spaghetini with Clams (GF and DF) Dessert - Chocolate mousse with salted peanut gelato - Vegan Raspberry Cheesecake (GF and DF) Drinks - dirty vodka martinis were wonderfully balanced. They have Tito's if you need it certified GF!

Absolutely fantastic lunch. The staff sat us right as they were closing, brought our food and drinks out quickly, and it all tasted absolutely exquisite. 10/10 recommend.

Came here for lunch on an overcast day. The view of the city must be pretty nice when the weather is better. The food was absolutely delicious. The ravioli alla Nero was phenomenal, I would 100% recommended it. They also had some craftbeer from Campania which was a pleasant surprise to see. I think we will try to come back one night when the weather is nicer.

Great food and location overlooking the sea! Got a bit windy during our meal but staff was kind enough to move us inside.

Very good food. Fancy plates with a fancy spin on traditional Italian cuisine. Outdoor seating by the ledge is a beautiful experience but since it was so windy, we had to go back inside where it was less appealing. Just a bit bright but not horrible looking. Definitely recommend the friend zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta. Fresh and delicious. The big pasta with meatballs were really good. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was hearty and damn good. The mixed seafood risotto was excellent. The best thing I had however was the lemon sponge cake. Lemon ricotta, spongey vanilla cake with fresh lemon cream. Amazing.

A view from the front of the restaurant.

A higher level in Positano both in it's location & cuisine. By far the best dinner I've had during our stay & this is dinner #3. Less traffic in the more residential neighborhood helps set a more relaxing dinner al fresco. The hostess & waitstaff were friendly & knowledgeable & all four of our entrees were superb. I was a little more daring trying sea urchin for the first time - the TAGLIOLINI AL NERO DI SEPPIA CON RICCI DI MARE E LIMONE was sublime. I appreciated the chef relaying to me via our waiter the advice to toss the pasta before eating. The pasta was so light & flavorful - truly tasted like the sea. My fellow diners enjoyed their sea bass & "Positano style" spaghetti with conch, clams, smoked cherry tomatoes. Lots of vegetarian options too. We all decided if dinner was superb, dessert must be wonderful too & we were not disappointed - the banana soufflé with salted peanut was divine. Such a great dining experience. So much so, I'm taking the time to write this review. Worth the climb up to the restaurant. Grazie, DaGabrisa

A beautiful restaurant with amazing food situated in Positano Italy with one of the most beautiful views ever of the Amalfi coast. Truly was a beautiful experience I recommend. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

The lobster pasta was cooked perfectly and the lobster itself was amazing. Not overcooked, not too oceany tasting yet freshly caught. It's a lemon sponge cake with a lemon sauce over it. It was good here, but we had better at another restaurant. Overall was a great dining experience. The service was typical of Europe where you don't see wait staff as often so don't be afraid to raise your hand if you need or want something. Seif was an awesome staff member and gave us wonderful advice for our upcoming honeymoon. And he also gave wonderful advice for being newly weds. The ambiance is more upscale looking and feeling. There isn't really a view of anything specific but not every meal needs a view of the Positano cliffs. Highly recommend eating here if you're in Positano.

I came to Campania for wine and family history and a birthday present to myself. My last day in…read moreItaly, my Wine Check was four bottles light. This cannot happen. So I asked a man I met while traveling for some bottles I should bring back. He gave me a few producers as well as a few of his favorite bottles. Vintage and maker. I set out to find a wine shop, not a grocery store. I planned to spend a reasonable amount of money, €30-€50 a bottle. I saw a sign on the main street in quartieri spagnoli that just said "enoteco" I believe. It was brown. It was hot. The streets are steep. I had no cell signal and figured... What the hell. So up I went. And up. And up. And there it was. My Italian is pitiful, limited to basics and things you learn when your grandmother is angry at you. I walked in and the man working the shop greeted me. I asked if he spoke English, he did, very little. I explained I was looking for local wines, the varietals, and that a friend had given suggestions. He pointed out the two specific bottles on my list he had, then I asked him for recommendations on two more. As any good wine monger (my preferred term, don't judge. It makes me smile) should, he asked how much I was looking to spend, and if I liked this or that (or acidic or buttery whites, big structure or more supple reds.). Then he pulled down the bottles and told me I wanted these. I paid him, thanked him, and was on my way, back in the heat with my four bottles procured. Overall, the shop is tight. And packed. And the guy seemed knowledgeable enough. English, for an American with terrible Italian, was quite adequate. I will come here if I'm ever in Napoli again. Only complaint, and it's a small one... He put four 75cl bottles in a single plastic bag. When you are walking, A: that's heavy and a bit unruly. B: the bottles clanked constantly. I'm used to the individual bottles at least having paper to keep them from smashing against each other. I managed, and it was a good experience. Check this place out!

We had already had pasta yesterday and with both of us having Celiac Disease, opted not to stop for dinner as they only offer gluten free pasta. So, today we stopped for lunch and the chef was out and about and visited with us. I think they were surprised that we both had Celiac but it was evident that they were committed to serving us. Our server left briefly and came back with a grocery bag which contained what we believed to be gluten free pasta. We ordered the pasta with pesto and were both very pleased with the pasta and how it was cooked and with the pesto. The chef even returned to our table with the bag to "put us at ease" that it was truly gluten free. I ordered fruit salad at the end of the meal and we both ordered cappuccinos that were very good. Anyway, we asked about gluten free options and the owner was super nice and told us he had only one type of gluten free pasta. If you eat gluten free you know one is enough. So we started with the insalasta formaggio and the insalata prosciutto cotto. These were not memorable but did improve when we started to cut our order of buffalo mozzarella and add it in. The mozzarella was the highlight of the meal. It was warm and so juicy with just the right amount of flavor. My wife ordered the gluten free penne and pesto which was super oily and my wife said immediately this looks old. She had made fresh pesto so I trust her judgment. She did not finish it and it wasn't because she wasn't hungry. I had the tagliatelle pomodoro e provola which was pretty good. If this review was for the mozzarella and my pasta it would be rated higher. So we sat outside because it was a nice day and realized 15 minutes later what a bad idea it was. The street is super busy and really noisy. We ordered wine and the waitress brought us a brandy glass and a martini glass. I get you are trying to be cute with your drinks but I am drinking wine not a sangria or a concoction of some sort. The owner was super nice though and I felt for him. Again if I had gone and ordered the mozzarella and tagliatelle pomodoro e provola the story would be different but unfortunately the story is what it is.
