This place is a hidden gem. We're so glad we went! I was on the hunt for authentic Italian pizza that locals eat and this was it. A waiter at another restaurant actually recommended it to us as a top pizza spot where locals go and we didn't regret taking her advice! It's a bit hard to find and looks almost like a small hole in the wall but the pizza here is worth it! One thing to note is that it's self service. You order the pizza and bring it to your own table to eat. There's not service per say but the owner and staff were still helpful. If you're looking for a real authentic pizza spot the locals actually eat at and not tourists this is the place to go. read more

I was brought here by a friend that picked this place by chance for a date and he was captured by its cuteness. In fact this place is so tiny you have to give the right to way to people passing by. Great pizza to end the last night in Florence. It doesn't beat the heart shaped pizza from Gusta Pizza but still satisfying. It's brick oven - you'll get the charred crust and chewy dough. I ordered the rocket (salad) pizza. There wasn't much flavor to it, I just loved the texture of the pizza and amount of greens. Their wine is so cheap! For 3 euros, you get 1/4 a bottle. This might sound little but they put it in a jug and that comes out to a lot more than you think! We sat at the communal table but there are small tables if you want more privacy. Amazing Pizza. Great people. My wife and I stumbled into this place after wandering the area having some drinks and looking for a late night bite. Were kinda on the fence of how 11pm pizza would be (typically in the states anything after 10pm you just aim for edible). Walked up and order 2 pizzas, which are an insanely good price, like 5 euro each. Ordered some house white wine and waited. Place was empty so our pizza came quick. As we ate the pizza we just kept talking about how delicious it was and THIS was the pizza we had been looking for our entire trip!!! A guy sitting at a table having a glass of wine, asked how the pizza was, we said "amazing". Then we struck up a conversation. A long conversation. We sat there until closing, almost 2 hours, and talked about pizza, cooking methods, the passion of cooking and making food for friends, drinks, sports, and the town, during all this the guy had brought us another few glasses of wine. When we saw that the employees had all cleaned up, we apologized for hanging around so long, the guy asked us to sit, poured us another glass and we kept talking. When we left, we thanked him and asked his name, he said "My name is Gherado"....we'd be shooting the 'ish with the owner all night! Just a guy, whole loves pizza and loves sharing his excellence with customers. So rad. So far, I have not been so crazy about pizzas in Florence but this is a very nice place to get a Napolitan pizza! My friends promised me one of the best pizza in town and they almost delivered: it is true that the pizzas were good. I am not sure my quest for the best pizza in town is over though. I liked it but I still believe that my best pizza is waiting for me somewhere else in town. The topping was really nice and tasty, and the products seem of high quality. But the pizza dough was not yet perfect for me, a bit not crispy enough and loose for my taste. About the atmosphere of the place, it was very hipster and crowded. A bit too crowded for me and you do have much space to eat your pizza relaxed - at least that night. That being said, i would come back with friends as the atmosphere is lively - but maybe not for a date. Expect to wait outside a bit, especially in the week end. read more

After seeing this restaurant recommended in some of the travel guides and seeing it was one of the few open on Mondays we decided to visit. Once you arrive you will encounter a very small restaurant with some cozy decor, but you are probably going to be sharing a table with other people but trust me it is worth it. First of all most of the pizzas are under 10 euros and can easily be shared by two people. But the pizza it self is great, it is probably in my top 5 I have ever eaten. The dough was great, sauce was tasty and the pizza itself amazing. In addition the service was ask very good. The best pizza I've ever had, seriously! We didn't have reservations so grabbed some wine and waited @25 minutes on a Tuesday evening. I'm sure you'd need reservations later in the week. Started the meal with melon and prosciutto which was simple and delicious. We had the Diavola for our pizza. The dough was unbelievable and had just bright amount of spicy salami and olives. The house red wine paired nicely and they even had a bottle of IPA (yes, people from the PNW love IPA) which was from Amsterdam and very good. I rarely order dessert but we asked the waiter to bring the best and while I have no idea what it's called it was FABULOUS!! Our clean plate and happy palates are all that was left. This place can be tricky to find if you don't know exactly where to go. It is mostly locals and the menu is in Italian but you really can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. It is traditional wood fire pizza and is so good. Very fair prices on everything including their delicious house wine. read more

On his business trips, this was a pizzeria that my father frequencted. Be forewarned, this place is very cramped! If you suffer from claustrophobia, or peoplephobia, this is not the pizzeria for you. Also the bathroom door is a deceptive sliding door. Slide it over from right to left. You might save yourself from a moment of "touristy" embarrassment. The pizza was delicious, but I ended up ordering a calzone instead. It should have been obvious because the title was "Calzone" but I thought it was just a pizza. It was my first time eating a calzone and I greatly enjoyed it. The pizza dough used was incredible, and the various components were of the highest quality. One flaw I find in Italian style pizza is that occasionally the pizza can become doggy from too much tomato sauce or olive oil, but this wasn't the case here. Everything was perfect, even the amount of charred dough. I tried the pizza my parents ordered as well, and they were delicious. Don't be afraid to try the special! No "hidden costs" here, unless you think the water is free. The water was out of this world!!! Would come back for the water. read more

Amazing! We have been researching all week for good pizza in Florence just to satisfy our craving. We know Florence is not home to the pizza, so we weren't expecting too much. We came in here after reading some reviews, and they let us go ahead and sit before they opened. We ordered the margherita pizza and the s. Lucina pizza- as per the helpful waiters recommendation. We sat and waited in the front table, and within 10-15 minutes two huge pizzas were brought out. My husband said these pizzas were the best meal he has ever eaten... And he eats a lot! Thanks Yelp for helping me in finding this awesome place. While being in Florence for 3 days, I absolutely wanted to have at least once good pizzas. This place is located in a nice area of the city, especially at night. There are a lot of cool restaurants a bit away from the main buzzing touristic attractions. So we entered this mini restaurant and asked a table for 4 without reservation. It was quite packed and got offered to share a big wood table with an Italian family. The nice guy in front of me was good at French and shared with us a lot of tips about what to order and things to do in the city. We got red wine de la casa which was very nice and of course ordered 4 different pizzas. AWESOME!! The crust was thin and the products were so so fresh. I had forgotten how a tomato tastes like. The mozzarella was incredible. Everything was absolutely delicious. And while I usually pay between 15-20 euros for a pizza in my city (Brussels), the prices here varied between 4,5 euros for a pizza margarita to 9,5 euros for the most fancy ones. How is this possible? Service was friendly, atmosphere was pleasant, everything was perfect to spend a cozy night. I love Italy! read more

As I sit here waiting to take out my last two pizzas for my time in Florence. I am so happy that I found this place thanks to all the Yelpers out there! I ate here last night and the pizza was life changing. I ordered the one with sausage and mushrooms. Tonight I'm trying the 4 cheese and the one with mushrooms, sausage, and artichoke. My apologies for forgetting the name. It's a bit hard to commit Italian words to memory being from California. I tried a few other pizza places during my time in Italy and nothing compares. Even the hyped up Gustos pizza was just "eh". Tons of people there but this is more of a hole in the wall gem. Honestly, I think it was better than any of my pasta experiences as well. Unless I just failed to find a hidden gem like this. Try this place and you will not be disappointed and pizza will never taste the same again. I lived in Italy for 4 months finishing my degree and went all over the country. This was by FAR the BEST pizza I had the entire trip. Get the Quattro Formaggio it was life changing. I am pretty sure I ate this in silence because I was in heaven when I had this pizza. Everyone raves about Gusto Pizza which is pretty good but this blows Gusto out of the water.
