Chianti by the glass was reasonably priced. My wife and I split the shrimp avocado salad to start. It was delicious. The produce tasted really fresh. This was followed by an eggplant pizza. This is the best pizza that we have had in Florence to date. Our friends enjoyed their vegetarian pizza. They had cappuccino that they liked. I concluded my meal with a generously sized afffogato. Nice restaurant with decent food. However, our waiter was not so kind. He was tall with round black glasses. The impression we got was he couldn't be bothered waiting on our table or us. We are from the US and asked a lot of questions relative to the menu choices. All said and done, I forgot my bag of gifts which I placed behind my chair. It wasn't until the day when I realised I left the bag at the restaurant. Went back to the restaurant to inquire if the bag was returned or found. We booked a reservation for our last night in Florence. They have multiple inside dining areas, outside dining, and a bar area where you can drink or eat. Very clean and inviting. The host was very helpful. Our reservation was supposed to be 830 but was booked for 930. He was very accommodating and was able to squeeze us in at 9. He suggested we wait in the bar area while waiting for our table. The entire staff as we waited were very friendly and all spoke English and Italian. Our waitress was not that great. I don't think she spoke English very well which caused her to barely check on us. We saw her 3 times for a total of maybe 1 minute. Very different experience than other restaurants in Florence with the waiters and waitresses. They had many more food choices than any of the restaurants I visited in Florence. Lots of delicious pizza choices as well. We ordered the Salamino piccante pizza which was spicy salami and mozzarella. Very delicious and a little spicy, just spicy enough to enjoy the flavor. We also ordered the Florentine t bone steak for 2. Cooked medium rare and was very juicy. The pics look more rare than it actually was. The potatoes were a delightful surprise. Stumbled upon this place while we were walking around as it was nearby our hotel. We came here for a late lunch and the outside was packed so we sat inside which was fairly empty. Service is quick and friendly and they happily accommodated us Americans. My husband and I shared the Toscana pizza number 3 for lunch and it was seriously the best pizza I've had in Italy. It was fresh, crisp, and so flavorful! And this compliment is coming from a NY'er who is very critical of pizza. It was so good we came back here twice in 4 days. So glad we were able to get a reservation here! Had to take an early seating, but wow was it worth it. It's redundant to say the food in Florence is good but this was one of our favorites. Got a delicious Florentine steak (when in Ro- er, Florence) and spaghetti carbonara along with two drinks and it was fantastic. Even the table olive oil was exquisite and we tried to find it in local shops before leaving. We sat outside in the covered seating, while the inside is smaller and more intimate (not sure if there's bar seating as well). The staff was wonderfully friendly, and the good part about sitting outside is you can enjoy the beauty of Florence if the weather is right. We've recommended it to all our friends who visit because it's a place we'll absolutely come back to when we return. Set a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the more populated streets, this restaurant provides a very good experience with great food. Service is not at the highest level, which is a common theme in Italy given the fact that they are not working for gratuity, and so there is a little bit of a lack of hospitality. But, if you can get over that, the quality of the cuisine is better than most. The seafood spaghetti, and the clams linguini are both excellent. And the tiramisu dessert is deconstructed, but is still a very interesting way to finish up dinner. I'm surprised by how negative some of the reviews are. After spending 5 days in Florence, I've realized your experience is highly based on what you order. The service was prompt and attentive. I had a couple of glasses of rose' while my husband had a negroni. We shared the tagliatelle ragu and the sea bream seared with a potato crust. Both were quite delicious. Look no further, for you have found the spots of all spots for pizza. I must have tried 6 different pizzas in Florence and I just had to dine here back to back nights because I was in absolute heaven. (It's even better than that one that's touted on yelp as the best of the best. Hands down) Now, don't be put off if there is a wait for a table because I'm going to let you in on a little secret! Each time I went, there were about 4-5 parties waiting in the entrance area. Walk right past them, turn left and head to the bar which will be practically empty as it is not visible from the front. Bar is also nice because that is where the pizza oven is, so you get to see dough spinning and the chefs preparing your pizza from freshly made dough. Now on to the pizza. Crust is soft and doughy with a heavenly flavor. Tomato sauce is perfect. Not too sweet, not too tangy. Perfect amount of spicy salami and mozzarella cheese which again is a flavor to remember-tastes fresh-homemade. Not strong, just perfect-you have to try to know what I mean. Freshly grated Parmesan available upon request. Every employee I came into contact with was pleasant and looked like they genuinely enjoyed what they did. All of this made for quite the experience.
