Made a reservation beforehand (emailed them) for a trip to Florence coz I'd heard good things. Service was REALLY fast, so I appreciate that. Food was hit or miss here. Love how they gave fresh bread at the beginning and also water on the house. A lot of places charge for water. LOVED the Bruschetta. I'm not usually a fan of tomatoes but this was amazing! I even had extra haha. Costata di Manzo alla Griglia 500 Gr. - We really wanted the Bistecca alla Fiorentina in 1/2kg, but they didn't offer that option. Steak was flavorful. Some parts did have fat and were a bit cheeky, but overall not bad. Roasted potatoes with the steak were good too! Pappardelle alla Chiantigiana - Pasta was cooked well and the beef part was flavorful too; Would certainly have loved more beef in there! Molisana Pizza (tomato, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, spicy salami) - Really delicious pizza! The ricotta and spicy Salami combination was amazing! Biscotti di Prato con Vinsanto (biscotti with vinsanto dessert wine) - Biscotti was delicious! Did not like it with the actual wine though. Plain biscotti was lovely. Everyone loved the Tiramisu as well.

We came upon this place by accident and we are so glad we did. They have a lunch special for €12 that includes two dishes and 1/4 liter of wine. The choices were varied and the food authentic and delicious. We had the bacon tomato pasta and tomato caprese from menu and a Gorgonzola pizza with two espressos for a total of €21,50. 95% of people there were locals. Oh and service was great and very friendly. Honestly it was a refreshing experience compared to anywhere we went in Rome.

Food and service were good. The portions were good size. The atmosphere was nice the restaurant is bigger than what it looks.

The food here is amazing and the service is great. We were treated like friends here and it made our dinning experience so much better. Some of the best pasta we've ever had, and the veal is great too. I HIGHLY recommend this place and the prices are great too. Thank you so much!!

Came here for dinner after reading the reviews. I'd have to say that our experience overall was good but wasn't the best we've had. We got the pasta (ricotta, spinach with mushroom sauce) and 500g steak.. both were good. The restaurant was busy and felt like a nice little local spot in the city. All of the service was great and felt well taken care of. Overall, I would recommend!

Saw a crowd of people in front of this restaurant last night and decided to make a reservation for tonight... so glad we did! Everything was cooked to perfection and was so flavorful... my husband finally got his Florentine steak we've been hearing about during our tours of Florence and it did not disappoint! Server was busy, as was the restaurant, but he checked on us to see if we needed anything, offered to switch out our coffees for limoncello shots, and was pleasant and attentive. We all loved this restaurant so much that we want to go back for lunch tomorrow. One thing to note: the T-bone meal for €38 each (minimum 2 orders per table) comes with a LOT of food: appetizer platter, T-bone, roasted potatoes, 2 desserts, 2 coffees. In hindsight, we should have skipped the separate bruschetta order since some already came in this appetizer platter.

Best meal so far in Italy. I'm glad we came here with the recommendation from our Airbnb host. Loved the ambiance, staff, and food!!! Such great hospitality from our waitstaff as we work through the different courses. We started with a bottle of Chianti wine. Our appetizers included the octopus carpaccio, asparagus salad, and mussels. All were wonderful. The only change I would make is to consider having the asparagus grilled rather than blanched. For entrees we got the sirloin in wine sauce (not pictured as the hubs dug in before my photo opportunity), lobster gratine, and seafood risotto. They were delicious. Nothing to complain about. For dessert, we tried the chestnut panna cotta, regular panna cotta, cheesecake, and custard puffs with chocolate. My favorite was the chestnut panna cotta with the slightly burnt caramel sauce- it's a must try in my opinion! There is plenty of seating for groups. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Florence.

The owner and staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The wine bar itself is a small quaint little place. They do a fantastic job of pairing everything together to really bring so many flavors to your tastebuds. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. The waiter explained that a few items on the menu weren't available due to seasonality, but informed us of replacements. For starters, we had the zucchini carpaccio (one of the replacement items), thinly sliced zucchini with cheese and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and the fried polenta, served with mushrooms and pate. For our pasta course we had the gnocchi with meat sauce and my boyfriend had the naked gnocchi, another replacement item, which was stuffed with spinich and cheese. For our entrees, we had the stew with grilled polenta and my boyfriend had one of the other replacement items, scallopini. For dessert, it was the apple pie, made in the kitchen of owner's mom and biscotti cookies and wine, in which you dunk the cookies in the wine until soft. You continue with all the cookies and when you are finished with all the cookies, you drink the last of the wine, which has cookie crumbs in it. Therefore getting cookies and wine in every taste. All the dishes were prepared perfectly. The timing between courses was excellent. We neither felt rushed nor ignored. I normally don't order cocktails, but the drink menu had several tempting options. I opted for a citrus gin concoction with basil that was simply amazing, The dinning experience began with two "welcoming" appetizers consisting of steak tartare and a vegetable pastry puff. The experience similarly concluded with two "departing" desserts which this evening included seared watermelon "tataki" and fruit pastry pieces. There is an extensive selection of complimentary in-house made breads that are presented in a wooden small box with functional drawers. The food was inventive, flavorful, and masterfully prepared. High points were the complimentary bread "box", the mixed drinks, the seafood puffed rice "lollipop", the risotto, and of course the amazing desserts. I was also impressed to see the chef check on the guests at various times of the meal. Food: 5 stars. The restaurant is on the Michelin recommended list and IMHO worthy of a single Michelin star. Service: 5 stars. Superior service at all levels. Ambiance: 5 stars. Upscale, classy, refined yet not pretentious in anyway. I highly recommend Gune and would certainly come back.
