After doing my research and calling around, I chose Daddy's though the price was higher than franchises or other shops. Unfortunately, my experience was not positive from the beginning. I was told to wait and was ignored by the clerk for several minutes. He misquoted me by over $100 and misinformed me that it would take from 2pm to 5:30pm, which I had to correct him. There was also no convenient place to wait. They luckily finished at 4:30 and it appeared good with expected bubbles. I was blindsided when I had to pay a 3M warranty card and TX compliance sticker fee. After waiting the required 3-5 days, I noticed there was a flea stuck between the tint and front driver window, and the tint was catching whenever adjusting. I noticed the rubber on the front two windows were slightly slashed. I called 2 weeks later and told to "walk in whenever" to get it redone. So I walked in and serviced in between other customers. It took 1 hour, and I immediately noticed there was a large obvious piece of debris right in the middle. Disappointed, I made an appointment for the next day, and it was replaced and clear of debris. Car window was busted out a few weeks ago. Since replaced, I needed some tint. After searching for a 3M dealership, I came across Daddys. I called in the morning to make an appointment to get the one window taken care of. They didn't disappoint. They were able to get me in same day. This is based solely on the customer service here and not anything to do with the tinting/alarming they do. I got a recommendation from a friend to go here to get my windows tinted on my new car. I looked up some reviews on their website and noticed in a lot of the reviews people had gotten a ride back and forth from the business while their car was being worked on. This made me happy as I work a 8AM-5PM M-F type of job, so for me to take off 3 hours from work while waiting on my car would be literally impossible. Especially considering they are NOT open on weekends, only 10AM-6PM M-F. I called the place to find out when they could get me in, they scheduled me for the next day during lunch time (12PM) I told them I could drop off the car but there was no way I could stay there for the 3 hours while they worked on my car, I would have to go back to work. The man told me on the phone that if I wasn't able to find a ride to and from work that they could reschedule for a more convenient time for me. I tried to find a ride to and from work while they worked on my car but no such luck, I cancelled and told them I was going elsewhere. Now, I don't mean to sound whiney, but if I'm paying $300 (which is pretty expensive after looking elsewhere at other places) I expect to get 5 star treatment. If people on their website are exclaiming they are able to get a ride to and from work while their cars are being worked on, I would assume they would have AT LEAST offered. I can understand them not, depending on how busy they are. But for me just to cancel and them not try to keep my business really put me off of coming to this place. The man I dealt with on the phone was having a conversation with someone else while he was talking to me, it was so unprofessional. We just had our second car tinted at Daddy's. I had my Honda Accord tinted at Daddy's over 6 years ago, and the tinting still looks as good as new--no bubbling or discoloration whatsoever. Based on the tremendous job they did with my Accord, we had my wife's new 2017 Civic tinted. It looks picture perfect! Not a single bubble or imperfection. They started immediately at our appointment time. My wife and I grabbed some lunch, and the work was completed less than 2 hours later. Sure, you can find cheaper tint jobs. This is based solely on my experience with one gentleman at this establishment. After receiving an estimate on redoing my front two windows, I scheduled a time one week later to bring the car in. Keep in mind, to do the estimate, he saw my car. He saw my tint. He knew what I wanted. And I was quoted a price for the work to be done. When I returned a week later, the same young man had no recollection of me or my car. I told him, yet again, what I wanted. He saw the car, again. He saw the tint, again. I was told it would take about an hour. We agreed on the price. Half an hour later, I was told, by this same guy, that my tint was illegal, and to do the tint at all, would require something they didn't have there, would cost more, and would not match what I had currently. Why was I not told this when I first arrived? He saw the car and the tint then, I could have saved everyone the trouble of me trying to get my tint redone, and wasting a ton of time. read more

I really hate to leave this negative review but the work just was not done to my satisfaction. They just could not get the back window of my GTI right. After taking back for the second time still not right. The owner was nice enough to take me to work. I was dropped off by a coworker same day after work. However my VW GTI was still not ready because they had to re-do the window. No problem, I wanted it done right so waited another hour. After inspecting I noticed what appeared to be "dust specks" under the tint. The owner said it not going to be perfect and got a bit irritated and then told me they will go away "probably" once the tint cures. Well 2 weeks later and keeping out in the sun as instructed multiple dust specks remain on the passenger side rear window and also the bottom left edge has peeled. Needless to say I was very disappointed and will more than likely file a dispute with my credit card company for the portion of work that was not done right. The passenger side windows are perfect. They just could not get the back window done properly. Talked to the VW of Alamo Heights dealership where I purchased my car and they said they could re-tint it for me and quoted me a very reasonable price. After being denied a state inspection sticker due to my two front windows registering in at 21% as the new state law requires 25%, I saw that there was a tint place across the street from the inspection hub. I felt the easiest solution to remedy my failed inspection was to remove the tint completely off of my two front windows so that I could get my state inspection sticker and avoid getting ticketed by the cops. Anyhow, I drove my car across the street to Daddy's Tint and Alarm and met an older gentleman who took my car in right away to steam the tint off of my two windows. I was quoted $40.00 which was fine and they finished within 30 minutes of my arrival. The place is very nice, clean, professional and safe. As a lady, I am always worried about going to a tint place and being exposed to riff-raff. Not at Daddy's -- it was clean and very safe feeling. The main waiting area was small, so it was hard to sit down as a man and his wife had come in and the man who accompanied his wife was not a gentleman and refused a lady a seat, so I was standing the entire time watching the shop through the window remove the tint off of my windows. After they successfully removed the tint, they spent another 15 minutes cleaning my windows professionally by removing the excess and I was very impressed by their care and high regard for my vehicle. The gentleman who greeted me and walked me through the process was a true professional and that's why I will return. I had also asked him how much it would be for the re-tinting of my two front windows and he had stated it would start around $119.00. He also recommended that I get my sunroof re-tinted since there was heat coming in and he was right, there was a hotness I felt from my sunroof. The recommendation was definitely a good one to protect both my skin from harmful rays and keep my car cool inside. Now, I am sure you could go somewhere for less, but as a businesswoman and educated professional, you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying a little more for exceptional service, a clean and safe environment, and precise care for my vehicle. I was not expecting to be tended to so quickly, but I was able to pass my re-inspection the same day since Daddy's was so quick and professional. I highly recommend this place and give it a full 5 stars. It is encouraged that you make an appointment from what I learned overhearing the gentleman speak on the phone with a prospective customer. After our van was broken into, it was clear we needed to get an alarm for it. I looked on the Internet and saw that Daddy's received great reviews on various sites, so I gave them a try. Their prices were competitive when I called for a quote (it's amazing that they would actually quote a price!), so I made an appointment. Because the work was going to take a couple of hours and I didn't have a ride, they gave me a ride to a local restaurant and offered to take me elsewhere if I wanted - no charge. They ended up getting the work done faster than promised and went over the functions of the alarm in detail to make sure I was comfortable using it. Unlike most places, the van was clean and neat after their work. These guys are great! Their shop is clean and organized and everyone is incredibly polite and helpful.
