I have been all over looking for this stupid paper (I don't but them for myself, I buy them for my boyfriend's dad) and no one ever has it! Except for United Express. And I love them for it. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the young lady working there. She was very friendly, knew exactly what I was talking about, and knew exactly where it was! That is a lot to ask in today's world! Good customer service is hard to find! So if you're looking for magazines and papers that other places don't usually have, give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised!

It is a small newsstand with magazines and newspapers from North America and around the world. I always found the selection be good, and purchased quite a few music magazines here. It also sells cold drinks and snacks like chocolate bars and chips. The store is very small and gets cramped when it is busy so best not to hang out there too long reading the magazines.

International News is a decent little news stand…read more It's located in a corner of the Kingsway Mall (next to the Second Cup) so it's pretty hard to find unless you're actively searching for it. I come here if I need a quick refreshment, some gum, or something to read when I'm waiting for my sisters to finish shopping at the mall. They have a good selection of newspapers and magazines. The great thing about it is that they have some foreign newspapers and magazines as well. So you might even find a newspaper from your home country if you're lucky! The foreign magazines are a tad expensive, but that makes sense since they have to import them.

It profiles local talents, local products, and local events. The only thing I don't like about Avenue is it tends to cater to people with large disposable incomes. The products that are advertised are usually high end products. I like reading Avenue to keep up on my city. They are free and you can check out the website to see where you can pick one up.

With print going into decline thanks to the Internet, the Metro is the only newspaper in Edmonton that I feel has merged the two mediums together. I think of it as a Digital-Print Magazine. They plug in highlights from their social media outlets (like Twitter feeds) into sidebars on the newspaper, which I find useful since I use Twitter very often. If you want to take the paper along with you without physically carrying the paper, you can use your smart phone to scan the QR Code (kind of like a barcode) that let's you access a particular section of the newspaper instantly from your cellphone. I think that's pretty neat. You can also download and view the day's newspaper from their website as well, if you like. I like the articles they write, too. They all seemed very relevant and I could relate to them very easily. Lots of good tech news as well.

The articles are nothing of real interest. I don't even really see the point of this newspaper. With papers like Vue Weekly and See Magazine, I don't understand how Metro survives. I have also seen the pages of Metro littering our streets and numerous public restaurants and coffee shops. But I've never seen anyone actually reading one of them. I think that people like the idea of the free paper but once they pick it up, they are grossly disappointed.

Audreys Books is so easy to find.... On Jasper Ave, just look for the maroon awning and inside you will be transported to a world of books. Anything and everything you could want to read - magazines; non-fiction; new releases; local authors - they have it all. And, if you're not sure what you want to read they will help you find it. I've been to Audreys for 2 local author book releases... I love the fact they support local authors. Encouraging them to host book signings and book releases at the store and encouraging patrons to purchase local books. I've also called the store asking about what to buy for a niece, unsure about her age group and they made a suggestion, put it at the front so all I needed to do was run in and make the purchase. They are amazing, friendly and accommodating.
