Princeton Forrestal Center - The Death of James Forrestal

    Princeton Forrestal Center

Poor James Forrestal, he didn't quite have the Midas touch -- the last cabinet level Secretary of…read morethe Navy and then the nation's first Secretary of Defence (who died mysteriously by suicide in 1949 after being asked to resign by Harry Truman.) A favorite of President Roosevelt, Forrestal and Truman hated each other. And as harsh karma goes, you may just want to skip the almost sinking of the supercarrier, USS Forrestal in 1967 by exploding missles from their own aircraft on the flight deck that sadly killed 134 sailors. All insult and injury as he is now the namesake of one of the most criminally underutilized retail/business developments I've seen. Anchored by the Westin Hotel and Conference Center, Forrestal Village is a mixed use retail/office pedestrian ghost town of Chernobyl proportions. No advertising and scant promotion for any tenant of note has created a zombie mall where no store or restaurant sticks around for more than six months. If you see an actual person here, they're probably lost. Hell, I have lived within walking distance for more than two decades and without the occasional foray into the Westin for dinner, I would have absolutely no awareness of it's existence. If you're in the area, try the hot new club Liquidation and it's companion restaurant, Everything Must Go. Forrestal Village is truly the go-to shopping and entertainment destination for discerning adults who value their privacy. The complex also houses a satellite campus of Princeton University (Forrestal graduated in 1915) and research facilities for the Department of Energy but given the abandoned nature of the shopping facilities, poor James Forrestal probably deserved better but certainly lived by Ray Charles' lyrical code... "If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." Two stars

They are constantly making upgrades and coming up with new offerings to foster community and professional growth. The space itself is beautifully designed for a peaceful, cozy, and inspiring environment. My clients frequently make mention of how nice it is and I can tell it has an impact on their experience. Logistically, I have a hybrid virtual and in-person practice and paying for real estate would be my biggest overhead cost. I didn't want to sign a rental agreement that wouldn't fit my situation or have the flexibility that I need. It's also a fantastic option for folks who are just starting their practice or who have a part time practice. At Be Well, I can increase or decrease the amount of time I use, and it isn't restricted to certain days of the week if my or my clients' schedules change. It really is the best of all worlds - I get office space with a luxury feel, flexibility in scheduling, fair pricing, and networking and community events with my colleagues. This was definitely one of the best investments I made for my practice.
