LOL) The Prices are so good, that even if you are not actively looking for an item that you found, you'll look around and say, "It's such a great deal, I gotta get it!" Wow! Oh My Word! This place used to be Great to go to, I hardly ever walked out empty handed... But today (after being closed for a bit) I walked in and things were moved around a bit, but when I got to the "back" (at least that's where the store used to end), it kept going! I got through the next section, only to find more!! I am So impressed by this place, that I went back to the front door and took a 10-minute video... I tried to upload that, but it was too long, I took the video x16 and made a 30-second video... But I also 2x it and made 8 smaller videos... We'll see if they upload... Nana's House helps foster parents provide a safe and loving home for neglected, abused, needy, and abandoned children by providing housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, school supplies, toys, household items, and anything else the foster families and children need. Nana's House will also pay for any extra curricular activities the child is interested in. The children live in a home with two foster parents and up to five other children. I loved visiting this neatly organized and large thrift store. As soon as i walked in a tree full of charming Christmas ornaments for only $1 caught my eye. If you love Christmas they have a whole Christmas corner set up. Christmas was even 50 percent off during my visit. Nana's House also sells very nice furniture, art, home goods, games, puzzles, toys, clothes, linens, shoes, books, and more. Prices on everything were very fair but check the board for even more sales. I really enjoyed my visit to this store and learning more about this valuable organization. Community of Hope was founded in 2003 by several churches who wanted to address a lack of shelter and transitional housing in Brevard County for homeless families with children. After they were granted their 501c3 status they found housing for their first family in 2005. They have now grown to 34 housing units and are building more in Titusville at Hope Hammock. Services they offer include a short-term family shelter program, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, a program to help families safely reunify, mentoring and case management, and financial assistance classes. Community of Hope serves an average of 35 families a month in housing they maintain and have provided a safe home for over 200 children and their families over the years. You can help Community Hope continue their mission to house homeless families by donating to and shopping at this store and by volunteering with them. They sell gently used furniture, home goods, art, books, and a lot of Precious Moments figurines. I see them all the time at thrift stores now. We need to brainstorm on a way to repurpose them, LOL. They also have an area in the store to meet with clients. If I lived local this worthy organization would be on my thrift circuit.

Jordan along with Habitat founders Millard and Linda Fuller developed the concept of partnership housing. Those in need of shelter would work side by side with volunteers to build affordable homes at no profit. House payments would be combined with no interest loans provided by supporters which would then be used to build more homes. In 1973, the Fullers took their house building concept to Zaire where they worked for three years. They then returned to the United States and founded Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn became involved and raised awareness. Habitat is now in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. They have helped 29 million people be able to afford safe shelter. In 1991 Habitat for Humanity launched the concept of the ReStore in Winnipeg, Canada. In 1992 the first Habitat for Humanity restore opened in the U.S. in Austin Texas. The ReStores accept donations from the community and home improvement stores and then resells the items to the public at a discounted price. The profit from the ReStore supports the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. This store in Palm Bay is part of the Space Coast Habitat for Humanity. They have helped 575 families in 37 years and they are designated as a Veteran Build affiliate serving the veterans in the community. They support programs for home ownership and home preservation through zero-interest mortgages, volunteer labor, and community support. I love supporting Habitat for Humanity and stop in the thrift stores whenever I can. This store was large and clean with a mixture of new and gently used items. They had furniture, home goods, home improvement items, and more. My favorite find was a vintage Capodimonte porcelain mirror vanity with perfume bottle. If you have any home improvement projects on the horizon, I encourage you to check them out.

She is very friendly and goes above and beyond to help customers. Since it is 45 minutes away from home, I will call on the phone and sometimes she will go check to see if they have a particular item which is not required it's more of a self-service store unless you need help loading your car. I have been shopping there over the last six years, recent management has really cleaned up the place nicely, things are more organized. My only dissatisfaction at this point is the prices have skyrocketed which there is no excuse for right now the rest of the world is experiencing higher retail prices because of higher fuel prices and lack of people willing to work. One day I was on my way in to go shopping, A customer was leaving and commented to me on how high the prices were. Unfortunately, the donation area required carrying everything up a flight of steps, which is very difficult for us. I knocked on the door to ask for assistance. The woman who answered seemed irritated that I had interrupted her, was rude, and appeared very reluctant to help. She eventually brought out cardboard boxes for us to transfer our donations into and, again reluctantly, helped us. Since the quilts and drapes could easily be damaged by rain, I suggested they might want to move the boxes inside. She simply shut the door. The experience left us feeling unwelcome and unappreciated. Donations are given freely by people who are trying to help, and a little kindness goes a long way. New toiletries available. Rather small children's section. Credit cards accepted. Most of the store is accessible by wheelchair or walker, and is one of the safer stores as far as children go - just keep them out of the housewares section. The store only has a tiny presence of 'thriftshop scent'. One of the better shops for controlling odor. Staff is plentiful and very helpful. Drawbacks are some items smell terrible once one draws closer. Temperature is on the hot side now, and I can only imagine how it will be in summer. Also, some shoes are marked with an X (means it can be purchased with their social assistance voucher), and an employee is required to price those individually.
