I will say that this location 9/10 times will mess up my salad the first time I order it. I have a tomato intolerance, similar to an allergy, and will get violently ill if I eat tomatoes. Every single time I order a salad with no tomatoes, I get tomatoes in my salad. I imagine it's because their lettuce is stored next to the tomatoes while it's on the line. It's frustrating but definitely never been a major issue, I check the salad before I leave drive thru and they're typically more than willing to remake it properly. The ranch at this location is addictive. It's obviously a house made ranch of some kind. Absolutely amazing. Their tenders are tenders and fries are typical fast food fries. The salads are the only dish they ever consistently mess up. They've never messed up anything else for my boyfriend or I. And the ice cream is great. All in all, this place is about what I'd expect from a small Dairy Queen. And way better service than a few other locations in town. read more

We only ordered blizzards. They were good enough, and the little guy that brought them out even turned them upside down. The restaurant is dirty and smelly and the first place we sat I nearly fell on the floor because the bench wasn't correctly installed. If you want a Blizzard do not come here. If you want a vanilla shake without a straw you're in luck! Seriously these are some of the worst Blizzards ever because there's no add ins!! And you're lucky if your ice cream even fills your cup... They used to be better but not sure what happened as they have definitely gone down hill. We ate lunch today and it was great. The food was good, but the guys working there were very polite and courteous. There were a lot of senior citizens in there and the staff were so friendly and nice to them. I myself am a senior and it isn't very often that we (seniors) are treated equally. They were great. Clean and spacious Dairy Queen. The nicest one I've been too. Worker behind counter was very friendly. While eating, I observed him hold the door open for customers leaving with hands full or elderly. The restroom was neat and clean. Oh, btw the food was delicious and hot. Getting someone to acknowledge your presence is an act of God. The service is slow and the food is average. We were missing parts of our order and nobody would come back to the drive thru window to help us despite there being a long line behind us. We chose to leave instead. Took almost 10 minutes before our order was taken. We sat and waited at the menu the whole time and then while taking our order they disappeared. They were out of several items. It took 15-20 to actually get our TWO blizzards. We had to pull to the second window, once we got the blizzards they were so melted they couldn't even turn them upside down. I ordered a 4-piece chicken basket, waited about 10 minutes but to my surprise every item in that order was fresh and freshly cooked making a very enjoyable meal. i went through the drive through and the man was very polite. It's in the middle of a small town so there are not many options to choose from when passing through. From the outside the building looks new and inviting. When you drive thru be prepared to be asked to park and wait for your order. When dining in the staff have always been friendly and honestly the food and dessert has always tasted well also. My reason for one star is that I left feeling grossed out. Just under our table was two slender dead roaches. My family found another in the restroom. It's the kind that run in the hundreds. So if I see them in a small section I can only imagine they're all over. read more

For being the "new" and "improved" Dairy Queen in Alvin it still suffers from the same old problems. Slow service and a messy seating area. My husband and I ordered food and come and sat down with our number sign next to a dirty table. The service here is terrible. At the drive-through they asked me for my order, so I ordered. There was silence for about 2 minutes, and then the person said "Are you ready yet?" I said I had already ordered, and I repeated my order. Then there was silence for about 30 seconds, after which a different voice said "Would you like a drink with that?" This is my second review and not any better than the first. Since it's baseball playoffs I'll go with 3 strikes. 1) When we got to the window one of the employees was scratching her eyes that looked like fake eyelashes (that's unacceptable in the food industry). 2) My oreo blizzard had no oreos, it was all ice cream. 3) My husband ordered a large blizzard and was given a short spoon that didn't reach to the bottom of the cup. I'm going to a Dairy Queen based on the recommendations of a 10 year old. Normally, this would not be my choice. But I'm in small town America and they do make those dipped ice creams..... I'm not a fast food fan nor junkie by any means preferring something with an Asian flair over this any day always: I order some chicken sandwich. I think we get the guy who is in training and definitely still in high school. He's slow, but doesn't care. This at first annoys me; impatient, hot, hungry Californian that I am. He's barely gotten straight what my husband and I want and we have 3 kids we're ordering for too. We're seated, no beverages. No, this is not California. Finally the manager comes over and apologizes and the drinks start showing up. It is prime lunch time here and on a weekday. There seems to be a steady stream of "regulars" and workday people in and out. I don't know where they all come from. This town seems really slow and completely devoid of busy; at least to me. Surprisingly when our meal shows up, it's all correct. And it tastes pretty good. And it was cheap for the 5 of us - $20. Now I can relax and enjoy my granddaughter and try to appreciate what this life must be like. Living in small town America. It's really kind of nice at times, certainly a lot more laid back than where I live. They refill our drinks for free and the kids get some ice cream. I can share a cone. Hee, heee; not have to eat it all. Yes, life is not too bad here this Monday afternoon in Alvin, Texas. And this Dairy Queen is not such a bad place to be either. read more

They stand around and talk forever. We got our food 10 minutes before the blizzards. (It was a to go order). They kept serving the drive thru and then stood around instead of serving us. I have never seen an actual restaurant or food serving store that does not participate in the deals, even though the advertisements say for happy hour, "participating locations may vary."
