the outside of a dairy land

This is a classic place to get a burger and fries. Everything is made as ordered and fresh. It's one of the few places you can get poutine, or gravy fries, in Texas. While the toys, fries, onion rings and Burgers made be great, their ice cream is even better. No add water mixes here. They have a freezer with Blue Bell ice cream. Yo can get amazing milkshakes, fantastic floats, hot fudge sundaes or even a hand dipped cone. While they don't have any indoor seating or a drive thru, the outside seating has 11 benches under a covered platform with music playing all the time. Be sure to check on this awesome place for lunch or dinner. Just be sure to bring a coat if it's cold outside.

Dairy land is a must when you are in the mood for a tortilla burger. It is unique and must try. Also the Maggie burger is awesome. The wait staff are super friendly and never had a bad experience.

Alvin staple was a let down for my family tonight on the burger side of things. First time there, and mine and my husbands patties were so burnt we couldn't even eat it. Now I liked the onion rings and when I went to take the burgers back they where nice about it and offered to remake. I declined that option not only because the patty was so burnt that it was hard as a rock but the size and shape was a total turn off three stars for the onion rings and the service was pretty good. Wont be coming back and would have a hard time recommending.

Traces of Texas Facebook page posted a photo of food from this place. We live nearby so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't even know it was there. My husband went over there to get burgers to go. Yummy! We both had cheeseburgers, and they were excellent. They had great flavor and tasted flame broiled. We tried the curly and crinkle fries, and the onion rings, and loved all 3. For 3 burgers, and fries/onion rings, it was $21. I thought that was reasonable. The portions of fries and onion rings was generous, and the burgers were large. I just wish there had been a way to look at their menu online.

Love the burgers here, it's nice to sit outside and dine watching the traffic go by. Good hot dogs too. Love the 50's feel of the place.

Tried the froyo concoction called Ball Bering. It had whoppers, cookie dough, caramel, and fudge sauce. It was amazing. The staff is so friendly and accommodating too. There's an area you can sit outside in swinging chairs, order froyo at the counter, and lay games like bean bag toss, connect 4, corn hole. It's a really relaxed place. We'll be coming back. *Save 4% on your bill by paying with cash. I only wish it was a bit cooler inside. That's my only "complaint". Those wall AC units were struggling. But it's not a big deal with those overhead fans running.

You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

This isn't a shiny, soulless concept bar with Edison bulbs and a marketing team. It's a neighborhood joint that understands the fundamentals: cold beer, poured correctly; food that knows what it is; prices that don't insult you; and a staff that actually gives a damn. Let's talk beer first, because they clearly do. The draft list is deep and thoughtful--enough variety to satisfy the hop-chasers, the lager loyalists, and the folks who just want something cold and honest after a long day. And yes, they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Settle time. Correct head. No shortcuts. That alone tells you everything you need to know about their priorities. The menu doesn't try to reinvent the wheel or lecture you about provenance. It's bar food done with intention. The street tacos are the kind you order expecting "good enough" and end up wishing you'd ordered two more. Balanced, flavorful, no unnecessary nonsense. The fried cod special? Exactly what it should be--hot, crisp, flaky inside, and served without ego. Comfort food that respects the eater. Prices are fair. Refreshingly fair. The kind of prices that make you relax, order another round, maybe stay longer than planned. That's not an accident--it's hospitality. This is the kind of place that reminds you why local bars matter. Why it's worth skipping the chain down the road and driving a little further for something real. 2 Ways Draught & Kitchen isn't trying to be famous. It's just trying to be good. And that's why it is. My friend & fellow elite and I arrived on a Saturday around 11AM and didn't have to wait for a table. I had the Big Breakfast which includes 2 pancakes. They have so many different mix-ins for their pancakes, anyone's bound to find their perfect mix-in combo. I think I found mine with the banana pecan mix-ins and sides of strawberry butter. The pancakes are huge. I ended up taking one home. The bananas weren't too sweet and had the perfect amount of ripeness for the pancakes. I ended up getting 2 sides of strawberry butter but could've easily eaten like four of the small . The biscuit with the big breakfast was fluffy and delicious especially with the yummy strawberry butter. The eggs over medium were cooked perfectly. The cheddar jalapeno grits were a little bland but did the trick. I tried my pal's hash browns and they were perfectly seasoned and thoroughly cooked but not crispy. The hash browns are definitely the better option over the grits. The bacon was delicious and perfectly crispy. I asked the waiter for crispy but not burnt bacon and he got it just right. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The waiter was super personable and helpful. I felt like I was at breakfast Disneyland.
