So first, I love DQ, but I hate this place, so disgusting on the inside, I saw NEARLY ALL of the workers without gloves, workers picking up items with BARE HANDS to put into blizzards, workers also were coughing and sneezing without washing their hands and right in front of the food!!!! I was disgusted by this place and when they messed up my order, that I was going to get a refund on, that was the topper. I ordered a 6 piece with 2 honey mustard, a 4 piece with gravy and honey mustard, and then 2 medium M&M blizzards. Not a very hard order, then when I asked to speak to the manager because I got 2 3 piece meals along with the blizzards, which were smalls i was greeted with attitude from a girl with bright pink hair. I then was speaking to the manager, Vicky, and I was getting eye rolls from every worker there. Vicky, the head manager was just as rude! She looked older than I and I was more mature. It's no surprise to me whatsoever that this place has 2 previous 1-star reviews, all for poor customer service. I attempted to take my 2- and 4 year-old daughters into the gas station next door to use the restroom when we were rudely sent next door to this Dairy Queen instead. My 4 year-old was already confused as to why we were turned away to use the restroom at the first place. She was doing such a great job holding it. Their restroom is in the hallway just off of the entryway, so it's not a shocker that they require a key to get in, so everyone off of the street isn't meandering in to use it. There must be a serious problem with that here. Is this a bad neighborhood?? I walked up to the counter, politely, with my 2 year-old in my arms and my 4 year-old hand in hand. I asked the three employees if I could have the key to the restroom. "You have to buy something". I look around quickly and said, "My 4 year-old needs to use the restroom. Can we please use it?" No, admittedly, I didn't have an intention of buying ice cream for my tired toddlers who just need to use the bathroom. The older woman of the three quickly and swiftly ducked behind the wall to look busy doing something else while the teenager repeated that we couldn't use it without being a paying customer. I. was. appalled. It makes me sick just to think about that moment watching my 4 year-old stare at me and then back at the cashier in confusion as to why she wasn't allowed to use their restroom. I asked again nicely if I could please use their restroom so my young daughter who had done such a nice job holding it could go. We couldn't find any other place to go and the gas station clerk next door had sent us here, not allowing us to use their bathroom either. The young girl would not give in. I told that I was very disappointed in her decision that as a business they would not let a young girl use their bathroom. I didn't say anything more, I didn't get rude and confrontational, it's not my style. But deep down, I hoped that this girl had a child one day and that when it came time to make an emergency bathroom stop that someone would let them in their bathroom and she would remember my daughter's confused and hurt look when she denied us. Please do not give this place your business. But thank you for the opportunity to explain to my young daughters that there are just some very mean people in this world and sometimes it can not be explained, even when you did nothing wrong. read more

Unfortunately, it wasn't the food that was the problem. I saw so many food safety and health code violations, I couldn't believe my eyes. The person making my food on the grill and fryer not only did not have gloves on, but they were grabbing raw, uncooked food, then the cooked food with the same hands. I saw this certain employee grab his hair, wipe his nose with the front of his hand, and touch the food directly going in to people's bags. It was appalling and disgusting. I have seen this Dairy Queen location not use gloves for months now, but I assumed that they washed their hands frequently. They do not!! Be careful, bacteria can and would be all over your food from here. read more

Dave, I would not be leaving such a poor review if I could honestly say that we have had a reasonably decent experience at this location more than 20% of our visits. However, that has not been the case. Just today we went through the drive-through and placed our order. Mid-way through placing the order the young lady interrupted and said "I didn't get that". So we started the order over again. Once we pulled up and paid we were asked to go to the holding area to wait for our order to be brought out. After a few minutes the food was brought out to the vehicle at which time we noticed that the order was wrong and missing a single cheeseburger. It was the first (and second) item that we ordered. The young man took the receipt back inside and 5 minutes later a young lady came out and said we didn't charge you for it but you can order one if you like. By this point we had been waiting a total of 10 minutes. I informed her that I felt they owed it to us at that point since they were the ones to get the order wrong. Of course she said she couldn't just give us the cheeseburger we asked for. I was not about to wait another 5 minutes. It would've been good customer service to offer some sort of compensation for our time and frustration (like the cheeseburger that we asked for to begin with). I assure you that you are losing more customers, and therefore profits, because of the lackluster customer service. Take care of your customers and teach your staff that customer satisfaction is paramount. Also it would avoid disgruntled customers if they would actually take the time to read back the order. We have had several poor experiences here with either food quality or customer service. It's really disappointing since Dairy Queen's been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember... just not this particular establishment. read more

Dairy Queen is as it always was...fast food with really tasty ice cream treats. We went tonight for combo meal and ice cream. Ordering was fast. The cashier was very not personable. Parking lot is super tiny and hard to get around cars that, like us, had to wait for food order. Our order was given to another vehicle and soon discovered it was ours....after other vehicle opened to inspect what he thought he ordered. We were not given option for a possible virus free replacement meal. It was either take the box or order a new one. The other vehicle opened our food and even had some fries. The employee took from him and brought it directly to our car. We said we wanted another box. Employee was mad but went inside and poured the meal that the man in the other vehicle had started eating into another box and promptly handed it to us. We get out maybe once a week due to covid19. Dairy Queen let us down on this outing. We may try location in wadsworth IF we ever want drive up ice cream treats. Ps..my blizzard was yummy...that was my dinner despite us paying for combo meals that we were afraid to eat due to a possible virus carrier eating what he thought were his fries. Even without the covid 19, we should have not been given a box of food that another party had received in error. read more

This particular franchise location is appalling. Their food is beyond subpar. The burgers do not even taste like a typical Dairy Queen Brazier, and the french fries are crusty, very greasy, and gross. However what "takes the cake" is the service. The children at the counter refused to serve ice cream out of the machine upon request. Sounds weird right? But they pre-make certain items and store them in the freezer at subfreezing temperatures. So if you want to eat whatever item you're ordering right away you can't because it is hard as a rock. However when asked to make an item with ice cream from the machine they refuse.... They did however offer to MICROWAVE one of the pre-made sundaes out of the freezer, instead of just making a fresh one. Yes you read that right, microwave an old sundae, instead of just making a new one. I worked at a Dairy Queen as a teenager for 2-1/2 years. I can't believe this behavior is excepted this or any franchise location.... I will never return. read more

Very poor customer service. I went there and didn't get everything I order. Offered me no solution besides to replace the items at a later date which was only the gravy and bread from the chicken strip basket. The manger was rude as was the other lady I spoke with before the manger. No wonder their rating isn't great! They completely disregard their mistake and want you to drive back and not eat to take it back. Usually you go to fast food to be able to eat quickly and not have to go back! I've been to this location multiple times over the years and have never had any of the issues the other yelp reviewers had. I would assume being next to a high school and a middle school along with a gas station that doesn't allow their customers to use their restrooms, this Dairy Queen has taken precautions with their restrooms so they don't get used hundreds of times a week by people that are not customers or are simply are their to cause some type of damage. It says right on the door for customers only I don't see why anyone would expect they be treated different then the last guy that was turned away. Just buy a drink and call it a day. It is not the employees life goal to keep you from useing the restroom but their employer or boss has told them what he expects and do you really think they want to be reprimanded just because you really gotta go but don't want to pay for anything. As for this so called Sunday that was old and frozen that the employees offered to heat up I'm pretty sure this would actually be a personal ice cream cake not a Sunday at all hense why it is frozen just like every other cake next to it, I believe it was actually kind the employees would offer some sort of solution to the issue of not being able to eat it right away. You can not expect to be treated differently just because you want to be special people. The personal cake is pre made daily and it would not make sense to create a brand new one every time someone requested just because the other one is to hard. If you would have ordered an actual sunday I'm positive it would have been made for you with ice cream out of the machine, side note this location uses a flat top grill and not a brazier so that would be why the burger didn't taste like it was cooked in a brazier and I happen to love the crusty fries and I would assume most everyone else does as well or they wouldn't sell them. For the hot dogs I don't have much to say, it's a hot dog you can get your own at the store cheaper but as a hint if you want your dq hotdog to be different ask for it to be set on the grill or even fried for a mineut it will make all the difference. I left this review because I worked here and there are two sides to every story and it was saddening to see a one star review because 3 people had a bad experience that could have been avoided if they where better informed. STAY AWAY!!!! Run by a bunch of teenagers, including management. My wife went through the "drive thru" this evening 15 minutes before close to pick up a chicken basket for me to eat for dinner. Upon arrival she was greeted by giggles and other noises through the speaker. When she asked if she could place an order she got no response. After several attempts they finally took her order after 5 minutes. As she pulls up to the window they shut down all of the lights, this is still 10 minutes prior to close. With a darkened store and parking lot they then asked her to pull forward, which she did reluctantly as she did not feel safe. After another 8-10 minutes they bring her the food. When I opened it I was severely let down by the contents of cold tenders and a handful of the saddest fries you have ever seen. Not only that they gave me honey mustard dipping sauce instead of the standard gravy. When I called to speak to a manager the only thing she had a reply for was the lights... Seriously, she couldn't have been less of a help. A call to their customer service line (corporate) yielded even less help. I simply wanted to know which other locations were owned by this particular franchisee so I could avoid them and continue to patronize the stores that are not owned by them. I was told it is against their policy to give out such information. I did not ask for a name, address or contact info of this franchisee only which ones they own and was denied the information. After a troubling conversation with the "specialist" I asked for a supervisor and William (so he said was his name) said that there was no supervisor on site. I found this unbelievable. A call center with no supervisor, manager or anything!? At this point I had not yet gotten William's name and asked for it and he tried to double talk me. It took no less than 5 attempts to get him to give me a name. So it would appear to me that this is a systemic problem not just at the franchises. read more
