Came here after having dinner nearby. It's a small ice cream/dessert spot. Their main offering is ice cream with a small corner where they have other dessert options (e.g., chocolate). I ordered 2 scoops of strawberry pound cake and a vanilla flavor. It was served in a waffle cone, chocolate dipped bowl. The ice cream was good. The only complaint was that the store was fairly dirty and the beanie babies in the display had ice cream all over them. You could tell the kids were handling them. I don't think they'll sell with ice cream stickiness in the fur. read more

Taffy grapes!!!!!! Run, don't walk, to this bakery and go get yourself a big container of taffy grapes. I'm serious. We came across their booth at the Brookfield Farmers Market on Saturday. The man (I assume the owner) was so friendly and happy, and yes, he lured us with a free sample of taffy grapes. I knew this was going to be a sale when I saw how awesome the taffy grapes looked, and then when I tried one holy cow! They tasted like a mini caramel apple with nuts, except.. not an apple, a grape. And not too much caramel. Ooooooo sooo good. Just enough sweetness. We got a big cup of grapes to share later. I couldn't resist the cute little cake pops that were made in a tiny little ice cream cone cup. I got one for my mom and she really enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back to the market to get some more taffy grapes! Looking for dessert after dinner, decided to stop in to Daisy's. I'm not sure if it was because we were there in the evening, but there were not many baked goods available. As a result, went with the ice cream. Service was very friendly. I had the sea turtle ice cream that had cute little sea turtle chocolates as well as the lemon pound cake which had pieces of pound cake in it. For 2 people (2 scoops each, one in a bowl, one in a waffle bowl) it was almost $20. Inside felt like it was a little dirty. Ice cream was pretty good and they had a decent amount of flavors. I visited their tent at the Brookfield Farmers Market. I tried the caramel with peanuts and the strawberry shortcake taffy grapes. They are both very delicious and addicting. I did buy the caramel with peanuts. The cost was $12 which was kind of expensive for one cup. The employee was nice but I'm not sure if I would visit the store or tent again. I was supposed to get a free regular scoop cone as I reached my 10 purchases. The guy discounted the "munchkin" size, and then didn't give me any punches for my other 3 cones I bought because they were "munchkin " size. This doesn't make sense because the free one he gave me was munchkin size... Also, the employees always give me a punch for munchkin sizes, so this is inconsistent. I walked into the store and it was great at first, but then as soon as I got in line, they let someone cut me and they had a way bigger order than I did and then while I was checking out, they let two more people cut ahead of me. And then they charge me twice for one milkshake. This is the worst experience I've ever had an ice cream shop in the milkshake was horrible. The restaurant looks nice from the outside and as soon as you step in it looks even better, but the customer service is so bad. I would never go here again. read more

Cute little ice cream shop on a nostalgic stretch of Grand Blvd full of small businesses. Zoo City had quite an array of flavors (everything from adult flavor profiles to colorful kid faves like Superman, Kryptonite and Play-doh?! They also have Italian ices!) After a big burger meal down the block I just wanted a little taste, and the kind lady scooping said that I can always be a kid (yay!), so I went with a kid-sized scoop of the Razzberry Rendezvous (black raspberry ice cream with fudge and raspberry candies); for such a decadent flavor the small amount was perfect for me! We sat outside at the sidewalk tables to enjoy :) There's a smattering of nostalgic candies here but the ice cream is the real draw, I think. We order a birthday cake for my and my 7 year old son's birthday this weekend. The cake was the best cake we have ever had!! We order a strawberry flavored cake with cream cheese frosting. All of our guests were so impressed with the how the cake was decorated and when we cut into the pink cake with the think layers of cream cheese frosting everyone was excited to dig in. More specifically, a three tiered cake for my parents' 50th Anniversary. I was able to communicate with Marge and I sent her a photo of a cake I would like. She did the cake to a T! And at an awesome and reasonable price! The best part was the flavor, as I chose chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry for each tier. It also wasn't just the cake, it was layered with yummy frosting. Double check that your order is REALLY confirmed. I ordered via Messenger on a product they marketed via Facebook. They sent a confirmation text that my order was received, and took my phone #. When I showed up to pick up our family's Thanksgiving dessert, I was told they didn't have my order, that someone else named Linda ordered , but it was picked up. I showed the text on my phone and she said well she was the only person who replies on the account - as if I faked the text! Which is just weird, and poor service. She said that even though she asked for my phone #, they didn't really us that to track orders. Based on other posts and reviews from Google Reviews and Nextdoor, multiple people have spoken up about how this business does NOT give their workers tips. All of the highschool and college students there do not get any tips from payments using credit cards and if you would give them service, PLEASE give the workers cash (not in the tip jar). On Nextdoor, someone wrote about their previous experiences working there, which were with very unfortunate conditions. The ice cream is also VERY overpriced for what you get. I think the kids working there get paid very little, probably below minimum wage, and if you want them to receive a fair wage, tip them in cash or don't go to Daisy's at all. read more

Adorable new storefront on Brookfield's Grand Boulevard, offering ice cream, Hawaiian shaved ice, and popcorn. They opened yesterday, and we stopped in this afternoon for popcorn - they make their own caramel corn, cheese corn, and buttery popcorn right on premises. Crispy and buttery and awesome! The ice cream and Hawaiian shaved ice looked great, and we'll definitely get one of the big ol' waffle cones next time... this time was basically a scouting mission. :-) Pro tip: if you're watching your calorie intake, you can always get a Diet Rite - they serve RC products. read more

I wrote a review on here on a few days ago and it since disappeared...Trying again... Went here last weekend and their smallest scoop of ice cream shrunk. The employee behind the counter seemed miserable to be working and didn't know how to scoop ice cream. We paid for about a teaspoon of ice cream. Very disappointing! We used to order the same size scoop of ice cream every weekend last summer and it was never ever this small. I think the employees just need to be trained how to scoop ice cream..... it's an easy fix. Hope this issue gets resolved because we'd love to continue to support local businesses - I know this business is under new ownership. Also bought some baked goods but the price rang up more in computer than advertised. Don't mind paying the extra money but please give us our moneys worth of ice cream and please fix signage for baked goods. read more

I saw on Facebook that they were serving soup and sandwiches. My sister and I decided to take my dad out for lunch on a nice Saturday afternoon. As we walked in, I saw the woman working behind the counter slam down whatever she was working on and say "great" all sarcastically and glare at us. I asked "Are you open" and she glared at me and said "yessssssss". Like I was the biggest asshole alive. We looked around the empty shop trying to figure out what the problem was because they CLEARLY DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER CUSTOMERS they were occupied with. We walked out. We ended up eating at Burger Antics, had a great time, spent $70.00 and left our server a $20.00 tip for her FRIENDLY service. I try to spend money at small businesses as much as possible but I'm not going to be treated like I did something wrong especially when we are taking out my elderly father who rarely gets out much anymore. Before the buyout Zoo city treats used to be a marvelous local icecream treat shop featuring cheap icecream, great service and a wide variety of treats But I have too say this transformation into Daisys treats has ruined everything; even with the rising prices there is no feasible reason a single scoop ice in a bowl should cost 5.50, now onto the service it is horrendous with Employees unable to fulfill orders, not giving napkin with a messy icecream, rude and impolite when I take a second to grab change and cleaning my table while I'm still sitting at it, and onto the treats it went from a huge treat shop full of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, chocolate covered marshmallows to a couple of chocolate covered bananas; this buyout is disappointing and I will be buying ice cream at restaurants like Bills place and machinto icecream where they can show true quality read more

I was so happy to find out that a new ice cream place had opened in "downtown" Brookfield. I have been thinking the the area could use a business like this and I can now walk there whenever I please. Just a little weird that it opened towards the end of summer. The inside is cute, nothing fancy. They have a good amount of flavors to choose from. I got the moose tracks which was pretty darn delicious, HOWEVER they are pretty skimpy with the size of their scoops. I originally ordered one scoop and as soon as I saw the lack of ice cream, I had to ask to make it a double scoop. Slightly over-priced for the amount you get but nonetheless, will be back (for ice cream and to try the popcorn) and I hope this place survives the winter. read more

Love stopping by Zoo City Treats for a couple of cones for kiddo and me. The ice cream is high-quality and we love to support small businesses. Also, their flavored popcorn is great...bought several flavors last summer that proved to be a hit at our block party. The only downsides for me are that they stopped accepting Amex and, while parking is plentiful, backing out of the angled spaces can be dangerously tricky. This used to be my favorite ice cream shop. I live a few blocks away and would always make an excuse to head there. Now the experience of going there is annoying to put it nicely. The ice cream is still good but the method of service is terrible. Here is some advice to the owner who stands over the cash register like it is counting the numbers wrong, allow the person who makes the order to ring it up and keep the customers moving- you have one line to order and one to pay and it takes forever. The ice cream is good, but there is one person that works there that gives the smallest scoops ever. When I say small, I mean the tiniest I've ever seen. Like a tablespoon small, we ate it in under a minute. You can tell he doesn't want to be there, he's not friendly at all and almost looks pissed. We look in and if he's working we just don't go in. Once we went in cause we didn't see him and he came up from the back, we let others go in front and the scoops were the same, so we walked out. The rest of the staff gives nice generous scoops, the owner is great and the teenagers that work there are always friendly. read more

I LOVE that this place offers munchkin scoops, kids scoops, and regular scoops of ice cream. A munchkin scoop is small, but it's still big enough to satisfy my sweet tooth craving and is perfect if you get a couple scoops. I came here almost every Sunday last summer with my family for their munchkin scoops and always had a good experience. Very reasonably priced and a yummy assortment of flavors. Went back yesterday for the first time this year, and the munchkin scoops we got were half the size as last year. I literally had 1 small bite of ice cream for each scoop. It was really disappointing. I'd be happy to pay more but don't make an already small scoop of ice cream a non-existent scoop! The staff I see working here are always young but please train them how to properly scoop ice cream...it's a simple fix. I don't think the scoop size changed, it just because the employee didn't know how to scoop the ice cream. Also, the person who helped us seemed miserable to be working there. We also bought a baked good and it rang up as more than advertised. I understand this store is under new ownership so I wanted to write this review to hopefully improve the service. Absolutely love this place! The woman that works here is very friendly, patient and sweet. I saw her go into her meager tip jar to cover the cost of candy for a kid (who had already eaten candy and ice-cream). Who does that?! The ice cream is very good too. I like that they have scoop sizes so you can get your kids a kid sized scoop. The prices are reasonable and the variety is very wide.
