It's very disappointing that I have to come back and change my review to one star, but I'm tired of…read moresupporting businesses that don't follow through on what they promise. I planned a spa day for my husband's birthday well in advance. The day before his appointment, I received a call informing me that the esthetician who performs the facials was sick, so that portion of his appointment would need to be rescheduled. Although I was annoyed, I chose to make the best of it and keep the remaining services. About an hour later, I received another call from the spa saying his appointment time had to occur at a later time than I booked. After multiple changes, inconvenience, and uncertainty, I decided to cancel the entire appointment. I requested a full refund. I spoke with the manager, and the owner personally called me to apologize and assured me that I would receive a full refund. I appreciated the apology, accepted it, and moved on. Imagine my surprise when I received my credit card statement and discovered that I had been charged the full amount for a spa day that never happened. I immediately contacted the spa and spoke with the manager, but the explanations I received for why the refund had not been processed were unconvincing and frustrating. After everything that happened, I should not have had to chase down money that I was already promised would be refunded. I'm now being told that I will actually receive my full refund. That remains to be seen. The entire experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Customer service isn't just about apologizing, it's about following through! Unfortunately, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be patronizing Sensory Sentiments again. To the owner, manager and staff...DO BETTER!

I started getting massages after years of having back pain and neck pain,…read moremostly due to the fact that I was spending a lot of time sitting down and reading for school, which strained my neck and shoulders. I moved to Bowie recently and wanted to find a massage therapist closer to me. I started with the Groupon deal to check Massage Savvy out, and loved it. Elizabeth really puts in good work to satisfy my neck and shoulder pain. I used to walk out of massages feeling good but still not entirely satisfied because even when I would tell my previous massage therapists to apply more pressure, did not really do much for me but I still appreciated their work nonetheless. Elizabeth applies the perfect amount of pressure and makes her customers feel at home. Highly recommend! (Note: Her practice is in side the "Turning Point" acupuncture office. Threw me off at first when I first visited, but thankfully I always give myself 20 min extra to get to a massage therapist so that I can relax and sit while waiting for my appointment so I was not late.)

Elizabeth is outstanding...hence her schedule being so booked (but she is working on that and sometimes will move mountains so don't let that stop you). This therapist is so sought after and for good reason. I can't stress enough how blessed I am to have found her. I've already booked my third visit. I'm a lifer. Highly recommend 90 minutes!

I have come here at least half a dozen times and have always seen John D. I moved to Bowie from…read moreGermantown, MD about 3 years ago and had tried several other local massage studios with mixed to awful results. I have severe neck and back tension for the last 12+ years with frequent tension headaches and always ask for *DEEP* pressure. At other massage studios I've either had a massage therapist that was not using enough pressure, wasn't focused on the areas I requested, or did not seem to be well-trained to give a massage. And even if I found a therapist at a studio that provided a decent massage, the next time I would get someone else with wildly different (poor) skills, or after circling the "problem areas" on their form or telling the therapist directly what I wanted, I would just get a generic massage over my whole body instead of any focus areas and they wouldn't avoid the clearly marked "avoid" areas. And even if they immediately recognized and acknowledged "your neck is very tense!" I would leave feeling frustrated, still tense, and feel like I wasted money. Or the therapist would use things like their elbows (why?) to jab into me which was "deep" but didn't seem like it was an actual massage technique or if it *was* it wasn't used appropriately, as deep does not = pushing as hard as you can. After dozens of massages over the years I can tell on the first visit if a place is worth going back to. Onto John: From my very first visit here (Sept 2025) John immediately sat me down and asked, what was bothering me? After going through my issues, he'd then confirm "Would you like me to focus on your neck and shoulders today?" and then get to work. John is a rather big guy, (not sure how tall he is but definitely taller than 6'3!) and can look intimidating but he's a big softie! As a woman who mainly preferred female therapists, I was immediately comfortable with John and have exclusively booked with him since that first visit because I can tell he knows what he's doing and I always feel better after my appointments with him. I've also gone to my last several visits in a walking boot (I have an achilles injury) and he's made sure I'm comfortable and I completely trust him to avoid my injured leg and listen to what I need each time. My hips and lower back have been very sore from the walking boot height difference compared to my functional leg and he's focused on that recently at my request and it has helped immensely with my pain. I've always booked 1 hr visits but have considered booking longer visits which I never really have done elsewhere! Elements is more expensive than the non-chain studios in the area, but those places weren't worth the cost anyway! Another national chain (has envy in the name, you know who!) gave me a super lackluster massage in the past so I had been hesitant to try a chain again, but my experience at Elements has remedied that fear! Elements also offers gift card deals occasionally that give a discount which I just utilized for their mother's day specials. I will continue to book with John for as long as he is available at the Crofton location! I've also had great experiences with the receptionist - when using gift cards, canceling an appt after I chose a different day and time, and I've also had her reach out to offer an earlier time when John had a cancellation. The only thing I wish they offered was the ability to cancel your own appointments online but I understand they might not offer that so that people aren't constantly cancelling. A small critique as calling or texting the receptionist gets a quick reply always! Although I have not booked with anyone else besides John (looks like I've had 6 appts with him) based on his skills and knowledge I would bet the other therapists know what they're doing also! I will also consider getting a membership here because I know that I will keep going back :)

This is absolutely crazy. I do plan on getting a massage but not from this place and I will not ever recommend a Spa that doesn't have a live person answering the phone, hell I would have even left a message if it would have allowed me to. This Spa should be shut down if they don't have the manpower to have someone answer the phone and schedule appointments.
