5 years ago we stayed i the small town of Rugby N.D. we ate regularly at the Dakota Farms restaurant. We'll today as we drove thru Rugby again we stopped And had lunch. The service was just as good as i remembered. I just had eggs with links hashbrowns and toast. I was as good as it gets. Our server was there as soon as we sat down took our order and got us back on the road in record time I give them a 4 star for their efforts. read more

We stopped here for lunch while passing thru. We had been here 5 years ago while visiting The International Peace Gardens. They serve breakfast till 4:00 which was nice. We decided to get breakfast for lunch today. I got eggs toast Hashbrowns and ham. Everything was fine. My husband got the same but got sausage links instead. Good to stop and relax for a bit from driving. read more

Good basic small town restaurant, one of only a few in this area. Nothing they really stood out except a really nice waitress. Kind of 70s decor and connected to a hotel/Motel. If I was in the area again, I may stop in. Had the hamburger and onion rings they were what you would expect. read more

I wasn't expecting much from this place when I walked in, but I had a great experience here. We were greeted with a friendly welcome upon arrival. Sat in the bar area since it was a little bit before dinner. Received our drinks promptly while we perused the menu. The calzone was recommended, so I went with that, and the French Dip was also given props when it was ordered. The food was really good, and Ashlynne was really friendly during the entire meal checking to see if we needed anything. It was a typical pub setting, but the experience was better than what I've had at similar establishments. It was a nice stop on a road trip, and I'd probably stop again if I am back through Rugby. read more

Poor wait staff!! Waited 20 minutes for a check and counting! Never got ranch or refills. Only 3 people in the restaurant area; far from busy. Food was average for the price. $7 for a turkey sandwich seems a little steep. Nice area clean and newly remodeled but doubt we will ever return. read more

Prior to stopping in, I read a review of this place where someone commented this was "Meat Country." Later, my husband and I realized what that meant. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the fish sandwich, both with fries on the side. My chicken sandwich came back as two fried chicken strips with NOTHING else on it - no lettuce, no tomato or any type of sauce - just the chicken strip and toasted bread. This is also how my husband's fish sandwich turned out as well. From what I recall, we paid about $7 and some change for each sandwich- which of course is extremely overpriced for what we got. Fast food places would be cheaper and probably have better food. There are much better places to eat in Rugby in my opinion. read more

Food presentation may feel somewhat diner-like, but this is better than your average diner. I can recommend their Knoephla soup, which is delicious. I also had the roast beef dinner, which was tasty. This is more homestyle cooking. Not with that salty canned taste you get at diners. read more

This place is connected to a motel and is a local chain. It's a greasy spoon but for the area it's the best thing they have. I've only had the breakfast and it's good. Oh and the Carmel roll is tasty. read more

This was the only place open after 7 so we ate here as we were passing through, for work. Service was mediocre; restaurant set up is so that you walk in toward the back where the servers are. There's nobody to greet you and it takes a little while to're acknowledged. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken salad which he thought was really good. I ordered pancakes with eggs and bacon. The bacon was delicious! Pancakes had a good flavor; however, they were a bit gummy, I'm guessing due to being flipped more than once on each side. Considering it was the only place open for supper, I can recommend this place; just take it won't be the best culinary experience you've ever had. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by the food at Dakota Farms. We were driving through Rugby and decided to give it a try. It looks pretty basic on the outside but once you enter you will realize it's a nice little restaurant. Nice sized portions, nice presentation and very friendly staff. We will be sure to stop back in on our next drive though. read more

Nice restaurant off Hwy 2, a major east-west highway in ND. I had breakfast. Homemade pancakes and I think homemade country sausage. It was alright. Great coffee. I actually felt like Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks. It was moderately busy with regulars. If there isn't a sign, I often seat myself, so it took a while to get noticed. Food came out quick. Check dropped. Don't recall if they topped off my coffee, which was okay because I had had a lot at my previous appointment. read more

Very poor service. Took 20 minutes to just get seated. Then the waitresses proceeded to walk PAST our table numerous times over the next 20 minutes, we never did receive drinks. At which point we decided they just didn't want our business and left. Not sure if this treatment was based on our non-white race or not but all the white customers in the restaurant appeared to get great customer service. read more

We came for a quick meal. We got the best soup I have ever tasted. A German potato soup Kneafola with dumplings. We have a good meal. The Carmel role for dessert was excellent. Served warm with drizzling Carmel sauce. Dinner -drinks (non-alcohol) and dessert for two - ' $18!!. read more

Absolutely awful. For $16 shrimp alfredo you'd think they'd at least know how to cook pasta. It was overcooked and mushy. The shrimp was way overdone and tough. The alfredo sauce tasted like it was dumped right out of a jar. Our drinks were never refilled, and we waited an hour for our food to be served. Others at the table had meals with french fries and they were overcooked and hard as rocks. Do yourself a favor, don't ever go here. Your money would be better spent at the Dairy Queen. Our waitress doesnt like her job. She wasn't the least bit cordial. She acted like we were a job not someone who enjoys what she does. On the menu it says what's in the product. When we showed her she said the menu changed and it's not like that anymore. When we asked her for something she acted like it was an inconvenience. Then she walked away like we asked for the moon. She had her hands at her side and acted like she wanted to blow up but just shook her hands. Body language. We weren't rude either. She just had an awfully big chip on her shoulder. Her name was Makenah. Server 62. I had the same meal as last week which I reordered because of how good it was. This time I had more bread than chicken. In a small town with not a lot of restaurants it was ok. You kinda enter through the back. I had never heard of their special soup and the waitress brought over a small cup for me to try, it was super yummy. You can tell that it was probably one of the busy restaurants in town, nice crowd in there. If I was in Rugby again I would definitely eat here again. read more
