The best supper club in the Holy Land! We eat there about once per month and it's consistently great drinks and great food. It's typical for the place to be shoulder-to-shoulder during peaks hours so be prepared for that, but it's part of the fun and atmosphere. A few highlights- A fritter to start? You'd be crazy not to! Their beef barley soup is the best I've ever had. Their tenderloin also ranks among the best I've had, at their best it will have a pronounced and pleasing sear on it that is second to none. Try the cold strawberry soup, it's pleasantly unique and delicious. Their tuna is solid, not the best around but reliably good and always a good value. They have a cajun pasta that is outstanding if you don't want a big hunk of meat. It's also a big portion. Highly recommend. read more

Amazing place we're visiting from out of town for the men's state bowling tournament. And we stumbled on this place, down the street from our Airbnb. We arrived and open to door to a JAM PACKED BAR, we were not so sure at the beginning of this was the place. But one of the ladies followed us out and convinced us to stay. All of the staff is very friendly and they really have service down to a science. They take your order at the bar, and seat you and bring you your food when it's ready. Or closer to being ready. So that they don't clog up tables with people just waiting. Our server Brittany was AMAZING. Very kind, quick, and every time you asked for something she brought it right away, never missed anything or forgot anything. The restaurant dining area is smaller and cozy, but they are trying those tables as fast as they can. And the food is outstanding, great flavor. And large portions, you get a lot of extras too. Great food and service. The place is on the smaller side and the bar is crowded and noisy as you wait for your table. But they take your order while your having a drink and we always have gotten seated pretty quickly. Bartenders and waitstaff are friendly and very efficient. We can't help but order the same thing every time because it's so good! Beef tenderloin with fried shrimp is prime supper club fare and Cedar Lodge does not disappoint. Usually excellent but this time not so much. My steak and my daughter's were ordered medium and came out rarer than rare. Sent back to have cooked more. Still rare. Sent back again and finally medium but absolutely no flavor. Not seasoned and not even the taste of steak. A hidden gem! This place is almost out in the middle of nowhere, but definitely worth the trip. Reservations not required, but recommended. There are about 12 tables total. Ordering is unique, they take your order and then seat you when your food is ready. On a Saturday night it is not unusual to see people 3 deep around the bar waiting for their table. Fortunately they added some more tables to their outside space, so our visit last Saturday was fantastic. We got a drink and waited outside at a nice high top table. Our waiter came out to get our order and let us know when we could come in. You start off with the soup/salad course. Next they bring you a warm cinnamon fritter dusted with powdered sugar. A taste delight. (Pro-tip: when ordering ask for the fritter to come at the end of your meal. Otherwise you will be too stuffed to eat!) I have not had an entree I didn't like. This time I had a baked haddock off the lighter menu with a twice baked potato. The fish was deliciously flaky, the potato good as well. My husband ordered the ribs and perch, intentionally so he had lunch for the next day. Both were tasty, the ribs just shy of falling off the bone - perfection! The portions are always generous and we typically end up with 1-2 meals to reheat later. The food is spectacular even reheated. After a few hiccups many years ago, which caused us to stop going for the longest time, we started returning again about five years ago and glad we did. Prepare for it to be crowded and busy. Chances are you will wait for a table, so get your name in right away and then enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Old fashioneds are my choice. Bar service is always excellent. I cannot believe how the bartenders (Emily specifically) can remember what we drink when we only go a handful of times a year. Before you know it you will be handed a menu while still at the bar and then a waitress will come to you and take your order before you sit down. This is old school supper club procedure. You will then be told where your table is when it is ready. We never make reservations and rarely wait more than 45min to an hour, which gives us time to have a cocktail and relax. Come hungry because you will get a lot of food. Most full dinners include a yummy fritter (or fruit) for starters, a basket of rolls and muffins, soup AND a salad, along with a potato choice with your entree. Everything we've had here has been good, but my tenderloin last visit was excellent! It prompted me to write this review. It was perfectly done, I barely needed a knife to cut it. Their menu is large, you will have a choice of steaks, seafood, pasta, even frog legs. I've also enjoyed scallops, salmon, and a cajun pasta to name a few. Definitely is a small town vibe here, and you will feel welcome the second you walk in the door. Tip - women, leave your purses and even coats in the car. Finally made it down to Dale & Candis Cedar Lodge and it was worth the drive. The bartenders and server were very friendly, food was great. Cheese cauliflower soup was very good and so was the french onion, could have had a beefier flavor but still good. The blue cheese tenderloin had a bit too much blue cheese for my liking but still good. The crispy hash browns with cheese were the best I have had in a long time. We've been eating (and drinking) here for many years. Brunch on Sunday is great with a Bloody, but dinner is off the charts. Steak is melt in your mouth delicious, salads are fresh, sides are so good. Drinks are as Wisconsin as they get. Staff is friendly, family owned and they are a great family. Visited Cedar Lodge on a Saturday night. Needless to say the place was packed...and i mean packed, literally flowing out the door! Thankfully we had reservations otherwise we would have given up and left like many others did. Once we managed to squeeze into the bar we were able to get drinks, thankfully they had 2-3 bartenders keeping up with the chaos. Old fashion's were OK at best. It was about 45min past our reservation time before someone came and took our order in the bar. We were seated probably 15min after that. Not only was the bar small and tight, so was the seating area. If you are a group of more than 6 people, don't bother coming here. Even folks that were a group of 4 were crammed around tables that should've only been for 2 or 3 people. Also, very loud environment, so don't plan on a quiet and peaceful meal! I ordered the prime rib and scallops and the wife got the tuna. The fritter was good, but odd having it before the meal. I'm a huge fan of hot bacon dressing so the salad was good. As for the main meal, the wife was pretty happy with her tuna. My scallops were ok, not alot of flavor. The prime rib was fattier than what i'm used to and someone went a little heavy on the fresh cracked pepper i assume they put on top of the meat before it was sliced up. The price for the 2 of us was around $70, so not cheap but not out of line compared to other supper clubs. read more

First, this is a great restaurant..the food is normally great. Tonight my lobster tail was over cooked and tough, I could not eat it. The waitress was notified but still brought a full bill. I asked if they could make an adjustment and the manager came out and proceeded to argue with me about how they know how to cook. It would have been no problem if she would have just apologized for the bad tail. Instead she was confrontational. This is the only reason for one star....I'd go there again, but the manager needs to learn how to handle a customer complaint with more grace. read more

We came to Cedar Lodge with friends. We were told that it is always packed: and it was. The bar has a lot of beer on tap and an even greater bottle selection. We had a choice for appetizers: a fruit cup or a fritter. (fritter please). Salad is included. Choice of potato. I ordered the pork chop(s). They were hot and juicy. I was only able to eat one. They also brought a bread basket to the table. They also came often to freshen your water glass and ask if there was anything else you needed. GREAT food. A little cramped, but still comfortable. Seriously, the best food in the Fond du lac area! Order a drink at the bar and chit chat with the locals. When they sit you, the food comes out fresh and hot, and portions are plenty. The prime rib I had was so tender and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes and all sides taste homemade. On top of that you usually get some great bread, mini dessert and a small side of seasonal fruit. Come in, sit down at the bar, if there's room, order a couple drinks (full bar and beers); and place an order for a table! Hint: I always call ahead for reservations! Arrive 15-20 min early so you can enjoy the bar! Always order the fritters, unless it's breakfast! You will not go home hungry! And... it's great food from a large menu! I'm a Wisconsin supper club buff and let me tell you this place does not disappoint. Yeah it took me and my wife 2 years to finally eat here as the hours can vary from what is said online. None the less we finally were able to stop in. Food is excellent. Yum yum in our tum tum. Best fish in the valley. No question. It's cozy and really no break from the bar to the dining area. That is the only negative. We did find out that they take reservations as long as you call it in before 4. Good to know for next time. Great desert collection as well. Wait staff was top notch. Went to the Cedar Lodge for the time this past weekend. The brunch we ordered was excellent. We were surprised and happy to see the portion of the food. The taste of everything was excellent. The placed was packed with customers and we were able to get a table right away. The service was excellent and very fast with an excellent waitress service. I would give Cedar a 5 star rating except for 1 major thing. The 3 of us walked into the restaurant with covid masks on. There was no one with any masks on which made us feel unsafe. This is our favorite supper club in Wisconsin! It is your traditional set up, order drinks and food at the bar, you will be sat at a table when your food is ready. Seating is limited in the dining room and at the bar, so plan on staying a while. I try something different there every time, but one thing remains the same... the fritter! It comes with all of the meals and it the perfect starter (or choose to have it as dessert). They are served warm and covered in powdered sugar. As far as food goes, I recommend any of the steaks or fish. My favorite side is the twice baked potato but you can't go wrong with any of the options. The portions are huge, so come hungry or build up and appetite at the bar. I highly recommend trying their breakfast too! read more

This was the best breakfast I have had in years. As an out-of-towner, walking in to the Cedar Lodge was a little overwhelming. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. Everyone is friendly and knows each other. We went on Valentines Day Sunday. It was 9:30 AM and everyone in the place was huddled around the bar waiting for a table. Everyone had a bloody mary and you would swear it was 11 PM on a Friday night! We sat down at the bar and asked for a menu. At the Cedar Lodge, you place your order at the bar, they prepare your food and place it on a table for you, then call you over when your order and table is ready. We got a Bloody Mary with a beer-back before our meal (only $4!). I got a 3 egg omelet, which seemed like 5 eggs. It came with toast and a really fresh fruit cup. My girlfriend got the pancakes which were so delicious and sweet they could be confused for a fresh funnel cake. We both got the cinnamon fritters, which are their specialty. Do not leave the Cedar Lodge without trying one (fried cinnamon bun dough rolled in powered sugar). This is one of those gems waaaay off the beaten path, but well worth the drive if you are in the Lake Winnebago area (only 20 min drive from Fond du Lac). Cedar Lodge is the place to go on the east side of the lake. Everything is cooked with fresh, from scratch ingredients. There are a lot of 'ands' on the menu. Soup AND salad AND fruit. This place is a real gem on the west side of Lake Winnebago but don't blink because you may just drive right by. What this place lacks in size more than makes up in the food. I have had a number of dishes here including steaks and my favorite being the ahi tuna which is perfectly cooked every time which is not easy to do. Bring your appetite as the meals starts out with a warn fritter, salad, soup, veggies and main course. Veggies always are fresh and not over cooked. The salad is simple and the soups are always very high quality. As a plus the prices are very reasonable especially for the quality and amount of food you get. The place is nearly forty minuets from Kewaskum but it is so worth the trip. read more

This place is WELL worth the drive from Appleton, and it is a gorgeous drive. The meal was outstanding. Drinks were well poured and service was exemplary. Virtually everyone encountered was friendly and helpful. As others have written, the meal begins with WONDERFUL warm fritters, followed by a basket of MORE warm bread, then soup then salads. Both the steer tenderloin I had, and the ribs/baked prawn combination my dining companion had were perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. (Just be prepared and make room in your refrigerator for the styrofoam containers you WILL be bringing home.) Should you feel so inclined, we were able to try their cheesecake and I would kill for the recipe, it was so good! If gas goes to $10 a gallon, we will still find a way to return! read more

It used to be the reference for all other restaurants but in the last year they've fallen apart. The food orders weren't correct when brought to the table and this happened on the last 5 time we ate there. The meat was under cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen.
