The Wisco An Old Fashioned Supper Club - Relish tray, loaf of bread, pickled beets, and pasta salad

I guess it's an old format for supper clubs, but here's how it works. You're given a playing card…read moreby the host and left at the somewhat small, crowded bar. Later on your table server comes and gets the order from everyone that will be at the table. In a few minutes the server returns to take you to your table. You pay your bar bill and head to the dining room. The table is already set with bread and the relish tray. Entrees were ordered while in the bar, so now you have some time to enjoy your company and cocktails. Between four of us we ordered the BBQ ribs, an 8oz filet, the Lemon Pepper Baked Salmon and the prime rib. All were very good but not great. I would pass on the haystack onion rings. Kind of undercooked and messy. Wisco is a very legitimate supper club, you'll have a good time.

I was recently heading south from Fond du Lac around dinner time on a Thursday and decided to see…read morewhat I had bookmarked between there and home. Of the choices, The Wisco stood out because of an all you can eat ribs special on Thursdays, so I stopped there along the way. It's crazy how much food they give you that's not even a part of what you order. They brought out a relish tray containing carrots, celery, crackers sticks, and homemade chips (pieces of fried tortilla) with dip/spread options including ranch dressing, liverwurst, and a brick cheese spread from a local cheese maker (which was particularly great). There was also a small loaf of bread, pickled beets, and a cup of pasta salad. With my meal I got a side salad and upgraded my potato choice to their Wisco Fries, which are seasoned potato wedges covered with alfredo sauce and bacon bits. In retrospect, I'd rather just get wedges and have a side of the alfredo to dip them in as the wedges did get a little soggy under the alfredo. By the time the ribs came I was getting pretty full. I managed to eat the first plate and only got one reorder consisting of two bones. Parts of the ribs were on the dry side, but for the most part they were good. Note, they did come to the table with sauce already on them. Although much farther off Hwy 41 than I was anticipating, I enjoyed my meal at The Wisco and would make the trip out there again, especially to try their all you can eat fish fry.

Have eaten a few times at The Sweet & Salty Pig. Really like that they have breakfast and lunch…read moremenu available until mid-afternoon. Recently I had my new favorite, the Maple Glazed Salmon... highly recommend! My wife's meal however was a little lacking, it was a special that day, some type of shrimp risotto that was lukewarm and a little mushy, the side salad was also a wilted, not fresh. This was a let down, because I usually enjoy my meals at the Pig.... Especially the desserts! I'm going to say this was a one off, and will be back for the Honey Glazed Salmon, and of course, the desserts!

Have extended their seating to include outdoor seating. I love eating outside, would love to see them create a divider between the outdoor seating and road, otherwise very nice. Had the Bloody Mary with chaser, slightly spicy, was very good. We started with the tempura brussel sprouts, absolutely delicious. We kept changing our minds on what to eat and we decided on the brisket grilled cheese and we were not disappointed. The Gouda cheese, brisket, and mushrooms were a great flavor. Server was amazing and very accommodating. All in all a fantastic lunch. Highly recommend.

Well....we really wanted to leave a better review but I think the chef lost its taste buds. I…read moredon't like to leave bad reviews based o one meal but what we ate here tonight made it so we will never come back. Everything was way too salty. We Both ordered the smokey molasses seared Pork chop and it should have been labeled as salted Crusted Pork chop. The pork chop itself was very tender. Mine was a little undercooked so my husband traded with me As his was medium done. They both tasted the same however, so salty we could not finish them and did not want to take them home. We both had garlic mashed potatoes. My husband and I had a disagreement if the potatoes were real or powdered . I voted for powdered because of an after taste whereas my husband thought the aftertaste was related to the garlic. Delivered to our table was a small loaf of garlic bread which was fresh and soft but not necessarily tasty. Next up was soup which we ordered differently. I had the French onion. This was Not a baked French onion but a salty beef broth with ample cooked onions. There seemed to be bits of melted cheese in the little cup making me think that at some time There was some French onion soup prepared with the cheese melted on top and what was left got dumped into the soup pot. My husband took the chowder. He took one bite and pushed it away. He said it was Horrible. I was reviewing everything so wanted a second opinion. I took a mouthful and agreed that it did not taste like any clam chowder I had ever eaten before. It was flavorless and bland. Between the two of us we may have eaten one of the 2 pork chops. I even tried to scrape the top of the pork chop off to reduce the salt but it did not work. On the plus we got there around 5 on a Friday evening and were able to get a table right away. Our waitress looked sad and like she was just going through the motions but she was adequate in refilling my husbands soda and getting our meal to us right away. The place filled up after we got there and there was Standing room only. That has to say something about the food or maybe the alcoholic drinks are good.

Food, drinks and service was fabulous and much better than expected. We had jumbo shrimp special and filet medallions (house special) with risotto type rice and chunks of lobster on top. Absolutely Delicious. We will be back !!!
