Dale's Natural Foods has been a local community store for decades. I have fond memories of shopping here with my Mom when I was in elementary school, and it was located downtown. It seems to be keeping up with the various health food options and dietary preferences. I was pleased to see some of my favorite foods, snacks, and products in stock. Most of the prices are comparable to what I'd expect for these types of items. Although I've yet to try it, the cafe and juice bar looks like a nice edition to the store since the days of being located downtown. The store is generally always neat, clean, and organized. Someone will typically say hello when you walk in. I'm glad to see that this store is still in business after many decades, and I wish the family much success in running the store for generations to come. read more

Great place to shop friendly staff good prices healthy foods vitamins vegan foods ect

First visit today. Had many items I'd normally drive to Whole Foods to find. Dietary such as gluten free or vegan are available. The soups and coffee were great, can't wait to try a sandwich. I bought some food to go aside from groceries. Small seating area, plenty of parking, easy highway access, senior discount. Third generation local business, so nice to see that. Stopped in recently to check them out and was pleasantly surprised at the selection of nuts, healthy snacks and supplements; a lot of which I haven't seen at the traditional grocers around town. Their prices are a little higher for items you may see at other stores but you expect that from small chain stores. Grabbed a small black bean and quinoa salad from the deli and it was super fresh. Really expensive, even for mundane items that you can find for far less at a traditional grocery store, but customer service is great and that's primarily what you are paying for. At long last, I was able to finally find my elusive Paba supplements here, though they cost a little more than I anticipated ($10) for a tiny bottle. Unfortunately, those suckers are hard to locate, so I gladly paid it and went on my way. Still, it's a nice store with a lot of gluten-free items, herbal remedies and supplements. A great place to shop for anyone with GF allergies. Plus, they have plenty of unique grocery items, including artisan-style breads, but beware the price. They don't come cheap. Those loaves of bread cost about $7, but occasionally they run half-off specials on day-old stock. Longer hours hours be nice. I've often found myself rushing to get here before the store closed. read more

A rockstar biznass with rockstar's runnin' the joint, Dale's is the ONLY game in town for amazing, healthy, wholesome and awesome food, fruit, supplements, powders, produce, scrumpdiddlyocious smoothies and fresh juice. I'm not excited to post a bad review, because I'd rather praise a place than give a bad review, but I think people need to know. I've shopped at Dale's for years on and off (when circumstances required I had to) ... even since they were downtown. I've never been impressed and they've finally lost my business. Dale's get two stars for being in a town without much. For ex, it's nice to get my hands on pastured organic butter which is hard to come by in Flint. However they fail in many other regards. To begin, the prices are ridiculous. I think they figure you'll save on gas from not going all the way to Whole Foods so they charge an arm and a leg for their goods. I'm not typically price sensitive and willing to pay more for quality but I'm borderline offended at their prices. That's bad ... but what makes it worse is that on multiple occasions the products are stale. Most recently, two trips yielded poor results: organic red bell pepper with mold in it (the produce in general rarely looks fresh), frozen organic wheat hot dog buns that upon thawing were hard and not edible, and a raw Crunch Bar that was stale and with no "crunch" (I buy these bars frequently on Amazon and they're fresh and crunchy there). I also saw a bag of bulk style prunes on the shelf, and the bag was torn open. Eww. When I called to complain they were apologetic but didn't offer any resolution (refund, etc), but to try to improve. Sadly, they've lost my business as well as my whole family's. For those interested, I was happy to learn that Kroger down the road has a clean (and more fresh) selection of organic foods ... including a pretty impressive selection of frozen health food, organic cereals, etc if that's your thing. read more

One of the only (or quite possibly the only?) health food gigs in Flint. It's no Trader Joe's, but they've got a fine selection of nutritious eats and a deli style counter in the back. The veggie juice needs a bit of tweaking, but the hummus pocket and wildberry smoothie were spot on. Tasty lunch, lots of little tables in the back or get it to go. read more

Very nice and helpful staff, enormous selection of vitamins and supplements with someone at the back to help with supplement questions, a great selection in the deli of healthy fresh snacks, home made desserts, menu sandwiches while you wait, fresh juices "juiced" while you wait, fresh breads (from Crust in Fenton), smoothies, soups, groceries and even "green" cleaning products. I just can't say enough. Try the hummus pocket in the deli. This place will never go out of business. NEVER!!! It's just too good. read more

Dale's Fails. High Prices, bad produce and fruit (old, rotten, and poor quality), very limited selection, Questionable products that use GMOs, EDTA, preservatives, gluten, cane sugar, etc., etc.. Very disappointed. This natural food store has very small selection of fresh produce, which is of very poor quality. If you're looking for pre-packaged "natural food" that's about all you'll find here other than the deli. read more

This place I love so much. The tuna pocket is amazing. And I love the fact that during the week they have different entrees. Very clean, and the workers are so amazing and friendly. On the pricey side but I would rather pay more for the quality in food and service. read more

Dale's has really stepped up their selection since I was here last. Great gluten free and even a few paleo options now. Their produce looks better than ever. This is the best option in Flint when the Farmer's Market is closed. They also have a juice bar! Tasty, cheap raw juice! read more

I like Dale's Natural Foods, though it was a bit smaller than I expected. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The market is more expensive than the competition but they do offer a vast array of grocery and household products that are either organic or responsibly sourced. I didn't get to try the delicious looking hot food station in the back of the market but will definitely return for some vegetarian comfort food. read more

I've always used Dale's when necessary or in the area and want an organic bite to eat. They have always been very knowledgeable and those of you who do not appreciate small business and the work and efforts, make it impossible for the little guy to keep going. They are doing very well continuing as the original proprietor began his business on the foundation of knowledge, education and great resources. read more
