I never have encountered racism and general harassment at a Walmart before. I have been told that "your black friends are more likely to steal things" and that's why we were being followed through the store. On a separate occasions, I was accused of attempting to steal a can of veg-all ($1.29) after already purchasing $73.52 worth of merchandise that day. I was instructed to change lanes and simply forgot the can in my cart. I was then brought to the manager for attempting to steal the product. After the manager laughed at his employee, I was compensated the can and sent on my way (due to the employee clearly being incompetent to understand the difference between a paying customer and a thief).

Bring your own quarter to check out a shopping cart. Be sure to bring your own bags as well, however there are bags available for purchase at the checkout aisle. You'll be bagging your own groceries. My only true complaint is the lack of selection. You can't be picky with brands here, because you basically get one option/product to choose from. I love coming here when building charcuterie boards, because the meats and cheeses are so cheap! Produce is good, however items like the bananas and watermelon that we've had in the past didn't really ripe and had little flavor.

So we decided to take a road trip and pick up some steaks. When you first come in it's pretty much what you would expect in a small town store. We go to the meat counter and look at the steaks, and honestly they don't look very impressive. Nothing in the case did. We ask the kid at the counter if these are aged steaks and he says " I'm not sure. I just got here"..ummm..ok... got the same response from the other young man behind the counter..instead of trying to explain to him what we meant, we asked for 2 ribeyes. He pulled them out of the case and there we immediately 3 flies on it. We shooed them away and he wrapped them up. Flat fee of $7 each for a 10oz ribeye. Not bad. I used the restroom on our way out and wow. Scary! There was a huge tub of meat in the back room sitting at room temp with flies all over it. I was a little apprehensive to eat the steaks, but they were tender and delicious. We will make another road trip to get some more I have no doubt.
