In the entire month that I was with her there, I cannot even begin to explain the things I saw. The mistreatment, the lack of respect, the lack of utter care for their residents... It was sickening. The nurses would see the light on- keep in mind, when the light is on, a beeper is consistently going off until a nurse turns it off in the resident's room- and completely ignore it. I would even see the night nurses purposefully neglecting the beeps, on their phones, sitting. It was insane. They would only do something about it when a family member would be there to advocate for a resident. Otherwise, you're left to fend for yourself. I truly changed her diaper more times than this facility ever did because of how ridiculous the wait times are. For a better understanding, my abuela is elderly, has dementia, and was battling C. Diff. And, the night nurses didn't care. Without me there, she would've been sitting in her own stool for the entire night. What's more? Even with me there, they still lacked urgency or care for her or her situation. She still would be waiting for up to an hour for a diaper change! Sometimes, they would even come in and say, "I'll be back," turn off the light, and never return. It was disgusting. What if it were their family members? I could never treat someone the way they treated my sweetheart. The nurses that carelessly abuse of the elderly here... you'll burn for it. Tip of the iceberg, by the way. They also never emptied her urine bag during night shifts; I would have to demand it. They never made sure she was comfortable, especially on cold nights. They did not check on her every 2 hours, as protocols of the facility required of them to. Hm... Apparently not. In the middle of the night when they did enter her room, they were rough and would have an attitude when changing my abuela's soiled linens... something that's completely their fault due to their neglect to check on her, especially knowing she has C. Diff. It was on her chart! One time, an employee even rolled their eyes at my request for care. What's a word that comes to mind for you upon reading that? Me too. All that, while also completely neglecting to tell us just how easy C. Diff was to contract and incredibly serious to deal with. My family dealt with something new every single day. I well with tears just thinking back to this time; I can't imagine what the lives of other senile, elderly residents are like living there. Please, don't put your loved ones in this soulless shell of a place. They will only go here to never be who they once were. The only reason my girl stayed as long was because I was permitted an overnight pass to be with my sweetheart. I took care of her, and looked over her. I will never let her be in a place like this ever again. She's alive no thank you to the night shift. I hope they surround themselves with people just as they are. They should really watch how they treat others. I will always know what they did. Pros: Morning shift- Wilson, Abby, Ieisha, and Danya. Thank you for your help in every way. You were the light at the end of the tunnel. Give them a damn raise.

The sunday nurse was very helpful. The rest, not so much. At night noone answered Dad's call button. My largest concern is the diet. We have instructed them repeatedly on Dad's dietary restrictions, and still someone has to be there for every meal. They have an issue with the room assignments so that every meal comes to him with someone else's name on it. No idea how they think they can keep up with dietary needs of everyone. We've brought up our own fresh vegetables and fruit so that he has something healthy to eat each meal which has helped alot. His blood sugar is now normal. The last two nights theyve sent Dad to the hospital only to have the hospital return him the same night. Actually, this is the 7th day he's been there and they've sent him to the hospital 3 times. He is definitely in worse shape than when we checked him in. I read other comments on the 'speech therapy'. We had that and dementia screening, too. Something every day. He just wants to use a walker so he can go home. I'll post back. OK, so Dad passed today. He was old and his organs failed him. But. The remington folks ignored Dads DNR. Said it wasnt adequate. And my mom had to watch the Remington 'nurse' beat on Dads chest for 4 minutes until she got a heartbeat so that the ambulance drivers could take him to the hospital where he officially died. Sigh. Long story short. If youre healthy, this place can work for you. If you need nursing care, this nursing home lacks. Severely lacks.
