The first day that I met him I told him that I could not stand the guardianship company, especially the people that worked there, who was in charge of my father's finances and health. And I said that I would have liked his help in saying something against them in a hearing in front of Judge Freddie Burton. He said yes to this in the meeting. Of course later he said that he could not do this because he did a lot work with that specific guardianship company. I was going through the grief of losing a parent and he never had a decency to say condolences over your loss. I have text messages which prove how he never empathized. A therapist told me at the time that,"This lawyer is not trying to get the physical possessions that your father left for you in the will." Not a single text message or communication indicates that he made an effort in me getting these pempathize. He did not care that I lived and died. One day, left a text message one time saying that I was worried about being stranded in Detroit and missing the last bus back to Ann Arbor. Ironically, I saw him later that day after he existed Coleman A. Young Municipal Center; we made eye contact, I waved, Ieagerly smiled but he averted his eyes. I still have that text message I sent him and how I have no response from him. He made certain racially negative remarks about Blacks in Wayne County that was appalling. I have a college degree, and filing a will with the Probate Court is something I could have easily done without his help. He made all these promises towards what I was looking for-which is why I hired him. He certainly sold me at the consultation meeting. But he never helped with those things at all. I paid five years earlier via a debt solution settlement company called Heartland Legal Group -- This Heartland Legal Group turned out to be a shell company - a facade - a fraud. I paid thousands and Heartland absconded with service fees, moneys and NO ACTION. Was there any consumer protection? Is there any resource? I was left with lawsuits. It is NOT that I did not pay and I have payment proof. Stillman Law's Kevin Hughes refused to even consider any portion of what I was saying, and worse, claimed he did not receive my exhibits sent Priority Express, Next Day Delivery, that had been delivered into the Stillman suite in the reception area prior to Court. Of course, Stillman Law demanded, and was awarded, Court costs and incidentals. However, with all that I now know about Heartland and Strategic Financial Solutions and the multi-state pending lawsuit brought by the AG of Minnesota, I will do anything necessary to bring these companies to the forefront where they can get the harsh attention they deserve and the disgrace that should accompany it.
