We felt we were catfished by the beautiful pictures of the Inn. The street is also quite busy and fast moving traffic makes it a dangerous cross to get to and from the pub/restaurant. The pub is awesome with friendly staff, very old, rustic decor and loads of taxidermy.

The first night we were a bit tired from the drive and didn't feel like cooking, so we visited the restaurant. It's nice and bright with great views of the Loch. Service was very friendly. We had the Goat's Cheese Salad (Grilled Goat's cheese served with roasted peppers, salad leaves, soda bread and raspberry balsamic dressing) and the Haggis Bon Bons (Crispy Haggis balls set on roasted tomato and chili chutney served with salad garnish) for a starter. Both equally good, but especially the Bon Bons were a pleasant surprise, good tasting Haggis! For the mains we had the Salmon with veggies and potatoes (daily special) and the Traditional Fish & Chips (haddock served in a beer batter served with chunky chips, peas and Tartar sauce). Both fish tasted very fresh and tender. Hot and crispy chips. With that we had a bottle of White wine, a Sauvignon Blanc Panul from the Lontué Valley, Chile. Fresh, fruity and crisp. Just 18£. We really had a great dinner. Good, fresh food for very fair prices, especially given the fantastic location. If you just come for dinner without staying here, the way back on the one-way street might be a bit dark. Luckily our way home was just a few steps :)

We were in the area for the Loch Fyne Food Fair and it was handy travel wise. We had a very warm welcome from the owners Jenifer and Alastair who are the friendliest people you will meet. The house itself is an elegant Victorian country house with pretty gardens that you can sit outside in, although the weather wouldn't allow it this time. There are splendid views over Loch Fyne to Inverary. Our room was at the front of the house and had a magnificent 4-poster bed and was immaculately decorated. The bathroom was modern and spotless. There is an inviting drawing room that you can use with a fire and glasses for you to have a drink. The breakfast was delicious and we were offered recommendations for restaurants which Jenifer booked for us. The guest house is near to Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Inverary for sightseeing. I would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return again.

Warm, hospitable, and *stellar* food (oh, that ribeye!)…read more Owned and operated by a wonderful couple - Sally/Mac - this is *the* place to stay (and/or eat) when in the Dalmally vicinity. The place is old, but renovated, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming, the bed makes for blissful sleep, and the restaurant is, as I mentioned, *stellar*. About that restaurant - Sally is the chef, and she knows her way around the mostly Scottish/locovore-y cuisine. We worked our way through as much of the menu as we could (and that was quite a decent bit of it!), and it was all _excellent_. The ribeye in particular is to die for, be sure to get it! If at all possible, save room for dessert - they are all really really good! The cuisine, as mentioned, is largely Scottish-inspired, using as many local/seasonal ingredients as they can get their hands on. Don't let the "scottish" tag put you off - this is *excellent* cuisine, made with a deft touch and no end of love - it is destination dining! About the owners - they are genuinely friendly and helpful. From opening the kitchen early on a Sunday to make sure we had coffee/brekker before we took off on an early hike, to explaining how she got the crust on the ribeye (oh, that ribeye!), to, well, just being friendly, they are genuinely nice people. It is not cheap, but good value for money if you want to push the boat out a bit for a special break away.
