The customer service here is excellent. Everyone was so on point and attentive. I would give my veggie patty burger a 3 stars but the staff was really kind and helpful so I bumped the rating to a 4 stars. The milkshakes are pretty good too. 4-5 stars for the milkshake quality. The Vanilla flavor is mild but sweet and the strawberry flavor one is more flavorful. The veggie patty crumbles very easily and it doesn't have much flavor to it. The veggie burger is pretty big though. And the cheese seemed cheap on my burger... I am sure that the burgers with actual meat in them are better in this establishment but I wouldn't know. read more

This is my favorite burger joint in Winnipeg. The deluxe and the Greek are my goto burgers. The deluxe is basically your standard fatboy, plus bacon. The Greek burger (from what I can tell) is not just a regular burger with some feta thrown on top, but the meat is actually seasoned differently, similar to a Greek bifteki patty. The gyros and other stuff I've tried have all been solid, too, but the burgers are the star of the show! read more

Daly Burgers is on Corydon and near my house, so I figure it was due for a visit here, since I pass by here all the time without actually going in. I arrived here quite late, around 9:30pm on a Friday. The restaurant was slowly winding down for the night, with more people leaving than entering. I had the deluxe cheeseburger with a side of chocolate milkshake. The patties and buns here are quite supersized. If you don't have a huge appetite, I highly suggest not ordering the double, as I only barely finished a single. It's quite good, aside from a bit too much bun compared to the patty. Portions are still large regardless. The chili sauce was a bit on the salty side, which some people might find a negative. Otherwise I was quite satisfied with the burger. The chocolate milkshake was also very good, and not too overpowering as well. Service was excellent, the employees are very friendly and will offer you suggestions if you're a first timer. Sometimes you find something too good that you need to share it with others... So was this place. The place is retro diner type of a burger joint. The employees were nice and the place was clean. I had the "THE BOSS" burger with onion rings and my gf had their "Gyro chicken wrap" with fries. The boss burger was just incredible ... It came with chilli and a very nicely done patty. The bun was really soft and the meat and chilli were just heavenly. Onion rings were good aswell. Although, the gyro chicken wrap was just whatever. Nothing special, just plain and simple and my gf dint seem to like it so much. But dont let that steer you away from this place. Overall it was great and i'd be going there again. It must be said that small things go a long way in business. I've been a long time patron of Daly Burger and it was unquestionably my favourite burger joint in the south side of the city. I've been several times since they opened up their second location (only twice to the other one) and haven't really felt the need to say anything until now, and I will say something. Unfortunately this review wont focus on the food too much because well, as I said the small things seem to go a long way, and the incredible food can still taste sour if businesses do the wrong things. 2 months ago I went into this location and found signs everywhere about this new 'coney island' burger, I asked the guy behind the counter and he explained it. "so kind of like a fatboy." I affirmed "what's that?" he inquisitively asked. I then explained what a fatboy was, and advised him not only had I ordered it several times from this location, I had eaten it here too; and never had confused anyone. He then started to argue with me about it's existence and how I may or may not be lying. After agreeing to disagree I ordered a 'deluxe cheeseburger' and poutine - which I must add was fantastic, even if I had my heart set on a 'fatboy' and poutine. Flash forward to yesterday. I walked in an knew not to order a fatboy. I looked up at the menu and (this is important) did not (read: didn't care) if my 'deluxe cheeseburger' and 'poutine' cost 25 cents more than when I was here 2 months ago. You know what I did notice? When they tried to charge me 25 cents more to use their debit machine. I cancelled my transaction, turned around and walked out. I will never step foot in here again as long as management tries to get me to balance their books for them. I am aware debit costs money, much like heating your building or paying your staff. Learn to charge the correct amount for your 'deluxe cheeseburgers' or you won't be in business. I've heard from several people the food has gone down hill in the last few months, but can't back my weasel words up since I refuse to patron there. read more

Another of the fantastic "real hamburger" places Winnipeg is dotted with, along with Junior's, VJ's, The Dairy Whip, George's, The Red Top, and Dad's Family Restaurant. They are all pretty much the same -- all outstanding as far as the menu goes, with their fantastic burgers including the fabled Fat Boy, generous portions of fries, all freshly cooked while you wait and quick (considering they cook fresh) service. Some have seating (Daly, Dad's, The Red Top, George's, and Junior's) and others are just places with takeout (Dairy Whip, VJ's). With places like this, why would one ever want to patronize the fast-food chains? read more

Great burger, the chili sauce really added flavor. 3 Bacon Cheeseburgers, 1 large fries and 1 regular fries, no drinks. Total was around $27.00. I thought the fries cost too much, but the burger was a good price. Our son who lives in Winnipeg said he will be back. We'll have to wait for next years visit. The quality of Daly Burger has decreased drastically over the years. There was a time when this place had some of the best burgers in the city. Now it's about the same quality as a microwave gas station burger. A Greek style burger joint. Its' right on Corydon at Daly. The burgers are made fresh in the back room,typical fat boy style lots o' Chile on them. The Fries are great, huge portions, one serving feeds two. the onion rings are standard frozen ones nothing to write home about. It's not fast food, a burger takes 12 minutes to cook and serve, if their empty, 17-20 if their full. . The staff are great. the decor is Pictures of Greece, and European soccer scarfs The restaurant seats 40 and has parking round back for about a dozen cars. I hadn't been to Daly Burger in a long time but I remembered loving their Fries and Gravy so I decided to give it a shot, especially since everyone raves about their burgers and I'd never had one there before. The burger honestly, to me was nothing special. It was too loaded with things, I may be willing to try it again and try to get it plain because the chili was too bitter and thin for my liking and it was dripping out of the sandwich i could barely eat the burger because everything was falling apart. Being a former love of their fries and gravy I decided to give their poutine a try and was very underwhelmed by it. The fries were soggy rather than their usually crispy self and the cheese wasn't very flavourful, over all I wouldn't try it again. I have to admit as a customer I was very troubled by the staff behavior. One man openly stated to his coworker the man in line before me (who had left at this point) was an employee there but didn't give him his staff discount (even though I heard him assure him he had) because he just didn't like him and didn't think that (because he was taking his order home) he should be allowed to use his employee discount. This behavior seems relatively unacceptable in general, but the fact that a restaurant full of people could openly hear the conversation made it that more offensive. I wouldn't say I wouldn't go there again but I was really underwhelmed and It will be a while before I step foot in there again. read more

First off, this place is not inexpensive. You pay a lot for a big portion. This place doesn't have proper sizes. I ordered a chicken fingers and fries meal and it was enough for my girlfriend and I. There's no way I could eat all of it on my own and the cost was over $10 with no option for a smaller portion. The food was not amazing. Definitely not the kind of quality I'd expect from a ma and pop burger joint. For the price I paid I expected a lot more in terms of taste. Daly burger is a locally owned retro style burger place, located on Daly and Corydon. The retro feel carries through from walking into the door all the way to the food. While the prices at Daly burger might be higher than other large fast food chains the portion sizes are much larger. Whenever I go I will usually get the deluxe cheeseburger, an order of fries, and a milkshake. The burger has mustard, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and chili. It has a great balance of flavor and always leaves me full. The fries are crunchy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. In the summer I will go down for just a milkshake. I would recommend Daly burger to anyone looking for a retro burger place. read more

I was a long-time fan of Daly Burger, and this restaurant has been a guilty pleasure of mine for nearly 17 years. From what I understand, the owner sold out a couple years ago, and the new owners are intent on driving it into the ground. Let me be clear, I'm not a casual patron, I've stopped in every time I was passing by until the last year as I have given up all hope in this being corrected -without- them reading these bad reviews and taking corrective action. As soon as location #2 opened, the price went up, and the portions got smaller. This place used to be on par with Superboys in the North End for burger-size. Now the patty is quite smaller than it used to be, and the toppings have been micro-managed into something that isn't what a long-time customer has grown to expect of Daly Burger. The increase in costs pushed down to the customer lead me to believe that they are getting the last of the long-standing fans to fund their doomed-to-fail second location. Seriously, the owners need to actually visit the other high-ranking burger restaurants and see why they can't hope to survive in our competitive market. You may have been able to pull this off and ruin a good restaurant where people had no other choice but to come to your venue, but not in Winnipeg. The love is gone, and it shows. But hey, if you have enough disposable income to buy a $7 burger that wont fill you up, by all means... stop in, and let them spill your fries en route to your table and not replace them. read more
