Adventure Damascus & Sundog Outfitter had high-quality, feature-rich bikes and helpful staff. We rented the Velotric ebikes because we were interested in trying them out and they were fantastic (although not really necessary for the trail). Only the Abingdon to Damascus portion is currently open, but having never done the trail, we didn't miss the other half. We will certainly be back to try it once it opens though!

The check in process was quick and easy, try out a bike and grab a helmet. Then you're on the way up the mountain. The ride down is great. So many different people we on the trail. In fact, one time they took me to the top of White Top mountain but didn't pack the correct bike (I paid for a tag along). Thank goodness there was a man there who let me switch bikes with him so I could attach the tag along. This past visit, the 2 staff ignored me when I asked for a cruiser, (I have lower back issues). They gave me a man's mountain bike, but I was pulling a tag along so it was very difficult getting on and off the bike. And it killed my lower back. Not to mention the comfy seat was torn so it wasn't that comfy!!!! Ouch!!! We were there on a Tuesday so it wasn't that busy, and there was plenty of bikes available. On a good note we really like the shuttle drivers. They are very kind and helpful.

The bikes were perfect for the Creeper Trail. I have some bike riding anxiety because I guess I'm prone to wiping out on turns, but I felt secure in the bike I had--good tires with good treads, solid breaks, smooth gear shift, all the good stuff.
