My mom passed nearly three years ago and I can't begin to express the professionalism of the Damiano Funeral Home. They pick up your loved one in a most timely manner and before they even approach the deceased, they will offer you their sincere condolences. The decedent is then handled with care and the upmost respect. When you go to make the arrangements they have a very attentive ear. They will not push you but rather help you with your selection. I am sure that they can size up what kind of money they're working with, but in my case money was not an issue and I never once felt that they were trying to take advantage of me because of this. I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of flowers, however not the name. Buddy listened and turned right to the page of what I was asking. Caskets, sealers, vaults were then explained to me so that I could make a practical and educated decision.
My mom had been ill for quite a while and I really was not looking forward to seeing her in a coffin. When I finally got to view her, the first words out of my mouth were, "You look beautiful !!!" Buddy and/or staff fixed her up to perfection!!! They did exactly what a funeral home should do and that is to bring comfort to the family and to make their love one look natural and like they're at rest. Words can never tell how comforted I felt once I saw what he did with my mom. I must also tell you that attention was paid to EVERY single detail. My mom's hair ( which was a mess when she passed) was done to perfection. Her nails were shaped and colored beautifully. Her diamond bracket peeked just enough to be seen beneath her jacket sleeve. As I said ...detail !!!! Mom had a trach in her neck when she passed; there was no sign of it in when Buddy finished with her. Her clothes were fitted around her as if she had dressed herself...just perfect. When they removed mom from the facility where she passed, she was wrapped in her own Jehovah-worded blanket. When viewing mom, they had this blanket neatly folded and off to the side for us to take home. It was such an added personal touch. As I said, they pay close attention to detail and you'll leave saying that no one could have fixed your loved one up any better. In closing, I do believe that this funeral home ranks at the very top. There is nothing that they could have or should have done differently. Three years later, I am left with a visual picture whereas I just see my mom at a peaceful rest. Because she had been ill for so long, I needed that. Although I do not want to meet up with Buddy again in this venue (you can understand why) I am so thankful for how he was there for me in my time of need.
My only suggestion is being that this funeral home is now getting so many minority bodies, it would be nice to see a minority who is visible on staff. This may be a long time coming but then again, so was our first minority US president. It's time to change our way thinking. read more
