Two dogs and damn good fries
    Lace F.

We enjoyed this spot, it was a long wait to get our order but the quality was there. Like the other vendors here, the pricing is a bit high too. We had the damn good burger, damn good fries and two dogs- chili cheese and Philly. The cheese sauce vibes like 711 nacho cheese sauce. This is not an insult, it's a vibe that takes one back to drunken nights of debauchery on Long Island. This food definitely fits the munchie bill, we enjoyed.

Our experience at damn good dogs is going to be one keeping me coming back for more, especially since we will be in High Point a little more with the children's museum membership. We stopped in because we had our three year old with us and their menu is very kid friendly. My husband got a hot dog, I got a burger, we split fries with damn good sauce and cheese over top, and my daughter got a grilled cheese. My husband said his hot dog was good but y'all thus burger!!! Go to damn good dogs for the burger. It's a perfectly juicy, saucy, well seasoned smash burger and I ate every last bite of my double. I also got the damn good sauce on my fries and it definitely leveled them up. I love the atmosphere of the stock and grain food hall and the service at damn good dogs was friendly and efficient - we got our food fast and fresh just like we like it. Although on the pricey side, this is a spot I will frequent while in high point for sure!

The boys had to try out @damn.gooddogs on our holiday trip to @stockandgrain These sure do look mouthwatering good. The boys enjoyed these Damn Good Fries (warm cheese sauce, sweet onions, ketchup, damn good sauce) and a Bacon Dog, during our food hall feasting. Don't they look good? It's cool that this place offers vegan options at a burger and dog place. It's conveniently located inside HighPoint's new food hall. Lots of seating in a new and spacious area that is key nice and clean. Restrooms available. Plenty of parking on side gravel lot out front. Outdoor seating as well. Service was very friendly and our order was perfect.

Well the name says it all. This hot dog and burger spot is pretty Damn Good! Located inside of the Stock and Grain food hall in High Point, Damn Good Dogs offers many different hot dog and smash burger options! On our recent trip we opted for the Damn Good Burger, a Philly dog, and the Damn Good fries. The burger was a smash patty topped with cheese, pickles, and the Damn Good sauce. If your looking for a good flavorful burger I would highly recommend this, nothing crazy just some basic toppings, but the burger is seasoned well and the Damn Good sauce is the perfect topping. The Philly Dog was a hot dog topped with peppers and onions, cheese sauce and Philly steak. This was our favorite from the visit! This was literally a combo of a hot dog and Philly cheesesteak and it just worked together perfectly. We think that they could even add a Philly cheesesteak to the menu by itself and it would be great! Lastly we got the Damn good fries! The fries were pretty good as well. Topped with cheese sauce, onion, ketchup and damn good sauce. Everything tasted well together, but I would suggest maybe combining them with an order of just plain fries as they were extremely saucy and got a little too soggy from all of the sauce and toppings. All in all a great spot for some Damn Good food! We will for sure be back in the near future!

Cheeseburger and hot dog all the way

Damn Good Dogs is located in the food hall near the baseball stadium. I had no idea all these great restaurants were there. I ordered a single patty burger, and a hotdog. My burger was very good, juicy and tender. My hotdog was huge as it was stuffed with chili and coleslaw. I got takeout and I couldn't wait until I got home so I ate them in the car. My only complaint was the wait time which was about 30 minutes, but to their defense they did have a rush of customers in front of me. I look forward to trying this place again. If you're in the area, give them a try.

Recently stopped by Stock and Grain and decided to try a few snacks from different spots! We stopped by Damn Good Dogs and tried their Philly Hot Dog Combo. Their flavors and combinations are super funky and fun so I was really excited! Unfortunately once the hot dog came (which it came really quickly), it was a bit of a disappointment. The hot dog was covered with thick nacho cheese, and small bits of steak and peppers. Super messy to eat and didn't have a ton of texture and flavor. Would have preferred shredded melted cheese and a grilled hot dog and bun to add a crisp texture and richer flavor. The fries weren't crispy and lacked salt as well. Really hope this spot continues to improve because their concept is really great!

Hot dogs that look 3 days old and tasted like it too. Overpriced low quality food. 15$ for 2 dogs no sides or drinks.

Terrible customer service, bad food quality. Overpriced food. I won't be coming back again.

    Damn okay burger
    Justin F.

I think damn GOOD dogs is an appropriate phrasing here. Not damn great but definitely good. The burger, as I mentioned in the pic, was a damn OKAY burger. Nothing wrong with any of the food, but it is a bit expensive and underwhelming. I enjoyed the Philly, but I would honestly not recommend the fries. There's nothing special about them, and the topping for the damn good fries didn't really wow me. I don't see any need to go out of your way to try this place, but if you're already in Stock and Grain and looking for burger and dogs, your options are limited and could be much worse.

Finally made it to damn good dogs and it was okay. The burger was just fine and we got loaded fries that were very good! I'd go back and get a hotdog next time.

    New York Hot Dog

I was excited to find this hot dog joint while in High Point! I tried the New York style dog, and it was amazing! The bun had a wonderful soft texture yet I could tell it was toasted. My only complaint was it was kinda small considering the price, but I love a good hot dog so I don't mind that. The service was fast, but I think I was the first customer of the day.

    Damn good smash burger

On a recent visit to stock and grain food hall, we got to try damn good dogs. They have a variety of different hot dogs and smash burgers. They even have a vegan hotdog and vegan burger option! I love hotdogs and Philly cheesesteaks so the Philly dog was the best of both worlds for me! I was surprised at how tasty it was since I'd never had a hot dog like it before. The cheese, steak, onions, and peppers all complimented each other nicely and made for a great hotdog! We also ordered the damn good smash burger. The meat was seasoned and cooked nicely. I think the damn good sauce, cheese, and pickles were the perfect touch to this classic burger. We also ordered the damn good fries. It was a nice portion of fries loaded with cheese sauce, onions, ketchup, and damn good sauce. The flavor combo was nice with the sauces but I think there was just too much on the fries. Next time I'd probably get regular fries. I'm excited to come back and try some of their other hotdogs!

Pretty good, but WAY too expensive! Feast your eyes on $13!!!! Works easy again at half price.

So I hate that 1 person had a bad experience but I just wanted to personally say I've never had a bad experience with Damn Good Dogs! The owner has always been nice, food comes out in a reasonable time for 1 person doing it all and never have I gotten sick off the food and I have had Damn Good Dogs multiple times. I got the Philly Dog tonight and it's my new favorite!

She was literally hoppin' it was so busy but did a good job of keeping up. She helped me find items on the menu that fit my dietary restrictions. Nice vibe, laid back, loud. Parking isn't great limited onsite but there's plenty of additional parking across the street. The best menu! There's SOOOO many things I want to try. I mean, a variety of different fries are you kidding me? My friend had the spicy goat burger which she said was good: if you don't like messy don't get it because the sauce is very sticky and she said there needs to be more sauce on the burger. I had a customized salad which was huge and delicious. The salad was too big for the size of plate though. The dressing was a house made roasted shallots and was yummy. Outdoor and indoor seating. Since I was driving back by on my home the next day, had a late lunch. Arrived around 3pm on a Friday and sat at the bar. Given the hour, it was fairly quiet. Weird experience, bar was wide open. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, someone decided to sit in the seat right next to me. Why?! I must comment on the service. The barkeep got me a menu quick and I ordered a water. During my meal, my water sat empty for 5 minutes or so even thought I counted 8 staff members behind the bar. Given the time of day, it was not busy. I ordered onion rings (as a side) and the Bacon Jam burger as it came with the "cordon Bleu" fries. The onion rings stole the show. So good. The fries were not my jam. Low quality cheese sauce with lunch meat ham that was diced. My fault, I should have subbed regular fries as I don't like stuff on my fries. I was expecting it to be a seasoning. My mistake. The burger was good not great. I got the 12 oz size and learned it is 2 fat 6 oz. patties stacked. Makes it VERY tall. The description of this burger is shown in one of my photos. Again, it was good but the flavors just did not pop. Wish I got the French Onion burger. Next time. :-) I do recommend!

So many places throw on one or two extra and call it a day, but this was a legit pickle situation. The crinkle-cut fries were seasoned and really good, the milkshake was decent, and the burger was solid overall. Nothing fancy, just classic fast-food comfort done well. For two double combos and a chocolate shake, it was $29 and some change, which felt pretty reasonable. I'd definitely grab it again if I'm in that area. Perfect post-disc golf fuel.

Smart move on their part by sending the most adorable teenage boy with perfect puppy dog eyes to humbly hand us our bag as he kept saying how sorry he was. Who could be mad at him? Not me. We had ordered on their app as we were passing through the area and they were very busy so I get how a mix up could occur. The 5 stars happened because even though we sat for 20 minutes, our food did not. It was hot and it was fresh. Other places could take note of this and maybe step up their game a bit or A LOT.... I'm not saying any names but their initials being with Whataburger... Anyway, I digress. We both got the same thing. The double burger with chili, slaw, mustard, onions, and pickles. While not necessarily the best choice for a road trip lunch driving down the interstate, it's hard to be salty about something so delicious. Messy? Yes. But it was a glorious mess!! You gotta love a place that not only allows you to completely customize your food, but allows it for relatively no extra charge except on the big ticket items like bacon or extra cheese. And they don't skimp either... which again made for a messy drive but well worth the laundry I had to do as soon as our 7 hour drive was over. The two patties were perfectly done, the buns were fresh and they were very, very liberal with the included toppings. This thing was stacked with a wonderful, meaty chili, cool, crisp slaw, crunchy pickles, and rounded out with fresh onions that added a terrific contrast to the chili and slaw. And the toppings were spread through out the sandwich so that every bite delivered on flavor. They were also generous with the napkins, which is rare these days and very, very much appreciated. The fries were good although I'm not a big fan of the crinkle variety... that said, I do appreciate that you have the option in the app to get them extra crispy. That made for a much better experience. Though they're not my favorite type of fries, these were well cooked, soft on the inside without being mealy like most crinkles are; while having a nice crispy exterior. If I have to have crinkle cut fries, I'd prefer Dairi-O's. I also tried their tzatziki sauce because I love that as a dipping sauce for fries and it was pretty spot on. At first, when I saw it on the menu, my thought was, "what does a burger joint really know about tzatziki sauce?" Turns out, a lot. It was creamy, tangy, with just the right amount of fresh cucumber and dill. Over all, as far as I'm concerned, it's a solid fast food choice that feels less like fast food and more like eating a perfect burger from your backyard grill. We both enjoyed it very much and will be back.

I recently started seeing a lot adds on social media for their new smash burger tacos, so one weekend I was feeling lazy and needing some lunch I decided to go give it a try. There was a bit of line when we arrived, but the cashier kept the line moving quickly. I ordered (2) of the tacos, and some fries to go. Apparently, they had a promo going that weekend with their app, that you'd also get ANY size, free custard made to your liking. The order came out pretty quickly, didn't have to wait long at all. Got home, unpacked everything on a plate, and enjoyed my tasty lunch. The tacos were great, basically just a soft shell taco with a single smash burger in each, cheese, a little lettuce and fry sauce. Probably could add some other toppings, like tomatoes, but overall they were really good. Their fries are also great, but very thin, so you kind of need to grab a few at a time. There fry sauce those is what makes the fries even better. Must try! The custard was also great, i got one mixed with oreo, one of my favorites! It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.
