Met a friend for lunch who is a hot dog fanatic and we had to get hot dog city. They do have some of the hot dogs around and they load them down when you get it all the way. If it's not messy, I don't want it! You know the messier the dog the better it's about to be.

Yet another fantastic visit to hotdog city! My son, my daughter, and I were absolutely delighted with our meal choices. I opted for the Philly without lettuce or tomatoes, smothered in cheese sauce which I would rate a perfect 10 out of 10. My son decided on the chicken tenders and chili cheese fries; he mentioned that the tenders were different but still tasty. Meanwhile, my daughter indulged in a bacon cheeseburger and an ice cream topped with sprinkles - what a treat! The service was impeccable, with a very friendly staff earning a solid 10 out of 10.

Y'all may know by now, my favorite food is a hot dog. I'm always on the hunt for the best in the triad and Hot Dog City lived up to the hype. A true hidden gem slanging delicious hot dogs, Philly cheesesteaks, Rueben's , loaded fries, and other yummy dishes. We went with a few different hot dogs one of which had spicy mustard, charred onions, and BBQ sauce on it (The Manhattan), and their loaded Buffalo chicken cheese fries which were our favorite dish of the day! Already planning my trip back to try and fried okra and Rueben. The owners are such kind humans you'll want to support them. Trust me, this will be a new staple!

Definitely a hidden gem here in Winston-Salem! You have to travel a short distance outside the center of downtown to find Hot Dog City on the corner of Patterson and Glenn. There is parking right by the building. The ordering space inside is kind of cramped but there was some nice picnic benches out front where we waited on our food. Everything is made to order, so keep that in mind with wait times. No inside seating, so if the weather isn't cooperating, you'll want to take it to go. We were craving hot dogs and boy do they have options. Something worth noting - growing up in this area, I always recognized "all the way" on a hot dog as slaw, chili, onions and mustard. Theirs includes ketchup as well, and I am not a fan, so I'm glad I asked! They also asked if we wanted to add cheese to the all the way dogs which, we love the option to add cheese to anything! The hot dog has that classic toasted bun we all know and love! I will say, it is a good hot dog but not the best one I've ever had. The chili wasn't my favorite and it just overall didn't top some of the other hot dogs in the area for me. My friend ordered the Manhattan dog which had caramelized onions and a sauce which looked great. I definitely love the creativity! The winner of our visit was the loaded fries! We decided on the Buffalo chicken fries and wow. Packed to the brim with crispy fries, tons of chicken, ranch and Buffalo sauce. These fries hit just right! They also offered chili cheese and philly steak fry variations. Upon talking with the super kind lady working behind the counter, she said they're in the process of revamping their menu and would be adding more loaded fry options - YAY! I can't wait to come back and try more. Super affordable spot too. A gentleman leaving while we were eating said they had the best fried okra in the world, and another recommendation suggested the Reuben! Lots of options here, check it out!

    Great footling!

Had a foot long hotdog with chili, slaw, onions, and cheese sauce on a toasted bun with FF's and a large Pepsi. All was cooked to order, fresh ff and hotdog. Very nice staff. This is a walk in to order, they have tables outside, I ate in my car no problem.

I'm glad I came here today, the hotdogs brought me here but the Philly cheesesteak caught my eye! This was so good meaty and cheesy, bread soft and toasted, fries seasoned to perfection. The staff was also great. I'll be back.

Besides the location, Hot Dog City has the best hot dogs, smoked sausage dogs and food on this side of town. They have a really good vegan menu, they do not sell any pork. All orders are cooked to order but worth the wait. This is the place to go on your cheat day for hot dogs, wings, Philly cheesesteaks.

Best hotdogs I've ever had in my life go here it may take like 5 minutes for your food to come out but it's worth it

We've been here a few times and we've ordered some "hit or miss" items on their menu. What we like from hot dog city is of course their hot dogs, they do have some good chilli cheese fries, cheesesteaks, burgers, sandwiches; its pretty much your typical take out place. I would call your order in advance though, because they do take a little longer when you wait to order there, and each time we go, we get their delicious dessert like cheesecakes, ,sundaes, italianice, icecreams and my favorite the blueberry shortcake Despite the location and how run downed the building looks its still pretty good, it's like that saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" thats exactly what you'll think if you ever decide to try them out!

I'm so glad we did, because this might honestly be one of the best hot dogs in Winston. I got two dogs with ketchup, mustard, and onions, and my husband got two all the way (Carolina style). Everything was delicious. The line was a little long, but it moved quickly, and the food came out fast too, which I appreciated. The hot dogs themselves were top-tier in flavor, but I have to talk about the buns. The buns were perfectly toasted with butter you could actually taste, and it made all the difference. Seriously, I'm still thinking about these hot dogs. We'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend them to anyone who loves a good hot dog.

You don't run out of hot dog before you get to the end of the bread like some places. The chili is really good and they use red onions instead of yellow or white. And the slaw is good as well. And don't sleep on the smoke sausages. They are beef as well and so juicy. You get a choice of 5 toppings but I always get spicy mustard, texas pete hot sauce and grilled onions. You can get it split or whole. And did I mention how affordable it is? The only negative I can give is no fries, the combo comes with chips and a canned soda. You can upgrade to a glass soda for an extra $1. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

There is no ambiance like it's 108 years old. So can cut it some slack. Fortunately the employees are much younger! As for ambiance not much except so far best dogs in Triad IMO. I have a rule to never eat in my automobile. Not many option where people do eat in their car.Wooden stumps to side of place to sit but too hot for that.
