Lindsay, is one staff member who took the time to make me feel human, because let's get real, the souls up there can be very lost, and so was mine. I had broke my front tooth down the middle on a snickers and wanted to leave after making it soo far along, yet I had some dentex from the nurses office and instead of laughing at how goofy I then looked, she cared about it. We came up with different ideas to make it match better!(coffee didn't work, nothing did) Needless to say Lindsay was the reason I stayed instead of leaving. The staff can be a bit overwhelmed, but overall this is a great place to go if you are struggling like I once was. If you're anything like me, and need the help, just go!!

Even though I specifically stated I will not be requesting medication from this facility and I was only there for talk therapy, the drug test was mandatory and by even questioning it seemed like a problem. Conveniently enough, the intake appointment is with one of the people who prescribe meds, not provides talk therapy. When I said again I wasn't there for meds, only talk therapy, as I stated since the first time I called there, it's like it was brand new information all over again. It just feels more like an assembly line and not a place to get quality individualized care.

Fortunately I had a capable, kind, and engaging counselor throughout this process and I was able to live my life between sessions, then report my progress and experiences in our group sessions. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and my freedom to take my recovery into my own hands and pursue the paths that make the most sense to me. I received a great deal of encouragement as well as a good amount of constructive activities to work on / present to my peers. The office staff and case manager were simply wonderful to work with, and when I successfully graduated from the Aftercare program, they sent me off with a warm goodbye and lots of encouragement. They're certainly doing something right over there and truth be told, I almost miss the process. Very empowering and a very helpful step in my overall recovery! I still continue to do what works for me in a program of my choice, am flourishing in my personal and professional life, and I can't appreciate enough the fact that I was given room to grow without needing permission to do so, or to follow prescriptive pathways in my recovery.
