After carting out to some trails in Muskego that I found were closed, I decided to walk Whitnall park since I haven't before. I found this big parking lot right next to this great playground. The baby isn't quite old enough yet for the playground, but we will be back as soon as she is. Anyways, we took a walk around and found out this was pretty close to Boerner Botanical Gardens. The area is all lush rolling hills, woods, wildlife, ponds, streams and waterfalls. It's seriously beautiful and definitely worth walking through. My only complaint is that I read on the Internet that this park had a paved trail, and it did. The paved trail, however, was actually a road. Most folks were very careful and took it slow driving, but there was a few dingleberries who decided to whip through like it was a highway, so for that, I knocked off a star.

I hadn't planned on going to this playground, heck, I had never heard of it before... But, our plans to head to the zoo got foiled by the massive lines from the free Senior day. So, I opened Yelp, searched for playground, and this beauty popped up. Yelp, you saved the day, yet again! The little kids side (2-5) is unique, but in a positive way. I feel like most little kids areas are the same basic=boring setup. It sorta reminded me of the old woman who lived in a shoe, with a sloped roofline and misshapen/unbalanced look. This area had ringing music notes, a track to run little cars/balls down, a crawling tube, a spinning giant glass marble, on top of the slides, climbing ladders, etc. Plus, there was a dedicated little kids swing set, with two toddler swings, two regular swings, and then the much loved yet hard to find toddler/parent combo swing!!! The big kids side includes a four seat seesaw, an accessible swaying "boat", multiple climbing walls, a standing gravity spinner, five slides, "concessions stand", a dedicated big kids swing set with accessible swing, and more. All of this included old shade trees, overlooked the diamond, and was a short walk from the bathrooms. Kudos to West Allis for installing a truly great and unique playground.

We've never been at one, but we've seen some take place while we've just been there during a free time. They have bins for when toys get icky and need to be taken away from the rest of the stuff. Everything seems to be very well organized, cleaned really well and the equipment is really interesting and different than a lot of other play places. Again, I think it's suppose to be giving sensory needs to a wide range of individuals and children. And it's cool! They also have a calming room with a beautiful mural on the inside as well as an infant room which is a great way to section off some of the smaller kids so there's less likely for injury. The main area does have running around, swinging, jumping, but that's what you're there for! They have dress up costumes, coloring space, a giant chalkboard wall and trampoline. I will say the staff is usually hosted by one or two younger people, there's no real problem with that except when they were experiencing technical issues with their portal to be able to login to register your kiddos. That happened a few times a handful of months ago, but now they've switched to a new system and that all seems 100% better. We've been there multiple times and we will continue to go back, our twins love it.

My dad works on vilet street as a sergeant and I could have called him but my phone was almost dead. WOW! First time here and we got kicked out. Yikes! Great playground for kids and adults…read more Being 6'1", it's not easy to fit on most playground items to interact with my kids, but the spaces here were fairly manageable, aside from a few tighter squeezes. The main play center is GIANT with several sections and multiple slides and stairways to get around. There's also a ninja warrior type course in one section. They have a light up room, coloring area and much smaller play area for kids 2 and under. They have several bathrooms and a cafe for food. They also have staff coming around to clean constantly. One pro is you only pay per kid and each kid gets in two adults for free, however, one con is you leave you cannot re-enter. This may be to sell more of their own food at the cafe since you cannot carry in food or drinks. Overall, I'd definitely consider coming back, especially on rainy days or in winter.
