I wanted lots of candids and a lot of fun; I wanted the photos to capture my fun and quirky group of friends and now-husband just being us. Todd spent so much time on the phone with me to get a firm idea of what I wanted and how he could do it, and he made every dream I've ever had come true. People were late, people trickled in at odd times, some people wore masks, and he and Dannette worked with, and through, all of it. With all my goals in mind, he helped me choose the best spots to stand without ever interfering with the joy of the day. I almost cried when I looked at the completed album from the day. They are so fun, vibrant, and alive. Best photos of my dog I've ever seen (and I have taken a lot), you could actually go to the end of the rainbow bridesmaid line and search for the pot of gold, and the leaves are absolutely going off with color in the background. I will treasure these photos for the rest of my life. OH- and he also captured the religious ceremony the week before and did the impossible - made my mom happy. Then I saw Todd's stuff. It was the first time I felt that a photographer was actually capturing the spirit and energy of the wedding. His pictures were FUN! And isn't that what a wedding is supposed to be? So we traveled almost 2 hours from where we live to meet with Todd in New Jersey. And he was so chill. And relaxed. And easy going. A nice change of pace from the madness of this wedding world. It was a no brainer. And when you book Todd, you MUST book the second photographer as well. We were lucky enough to get Danette, who is AWESOME in her own right. But getting a second photographer allows Todd to get creative. And that's what you want. Because when he gets creative, your wedding pictures turn out awesome. Our guests were calling Todd and Danette the ninjas, because they were literally effortless and yet everywhere, but you hardly noticed them at the same time. Todd leaked 20 photos from our wedding on Facebook a few days after our big day, and all our guests were blown away. My cousin said to me, "Whatever you paid your photographer, double it." It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about.
