DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AVNIDA PHOTOGRAPHY. Harshita, the photographer, will NOT reach out to you once your shoot is over. You will have to beg for your photos and realize you're communicating with someone who is intentionally ghosting you. I'm reaching 2 months now with no photos and quite frankly tired of chasing her down. Since the photoshoot, I never received any communication from Harshita about any timeline. I'm reading the contract agreement and there's no promised time frame either for clients to receive their photos. At this point I'm wondering if I'm ever going to receive anything????? These are precious newborn photos that can't be redone. If you read all the recent reviews, this seems to be her business model - ghosting her clients. Please read all the recent yelp and google reviews to educate yourself. She's terrible at communicating through email. I had to send 2 emails each time to get a response of what date the shoot was going to be, what time, and what the address was...which should have sent alarm bells but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She has a talent with newborns and is a personable person but absolutely cannot be trusted to do business with. She was recommended to us through family who used her years ago. From all the positive reviews that are several years old...it tells me she may have been operating very well back then but something clearly changed between then and now. I understand she is a one woman show running this business- which I have full respect for and was trying not to be pushy. But to not communicate anything for 2 months is completely unacceptable. When I texted her asking why I wasn't receiving a response through email, she said "there's some issue with her email." Don't you love excuses? I'm now not receiving any responses through text either. I'm appalled and very upset this is happening. She is charging $799 for the "My Love Newborn" collection and all packages requires a $225 deposit you can kiss goodbye. This is by no means a cheap service and the very least I expect as a client is good communication and deliverables. Please save yourself the heart ache and not conduct business with Avnida Photography. I will update my review when I finally receive my photos. read more

If I could do it all over again, I would absolutely choose a different photographer. A newborn shoot is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture special, irreplaceable memories. Sadly, every time I look at the photos of my newborn, I'm reminded not of joy, but of how incredibly stressful and upsetting it was to work with Harshita. From the beginning, her lack of professionalism and communication was shocking. She missed every single deadline she promised, including postponing the scheduled shoot. After the session finally took place, she never answered a single phone call from me or my husband again -- not one. That level of disregard made me feel completely disrespected as a client. She verbally promised our proofs within two weeks. It took seven weeks. Once I selected the photos, I had to wait another month to receive them -- only after repeatedly chasing her with messages and unanswered calls. It felt like she had no intention of delivering anything unless I hounded her for it. When I finally got the edits, the quality of some of them was very disappointing. Some of the backgrounds -- meant to look like seamless backdrops -- looked poorly placed, skewed, and unprofessional. I asked for them to be fixed, and again had to wait almost another two months while being completely ignored. In total, from the shoot on March 6 to receiving final edits on June 27, I waited over 3.5 months -- all while feeling like I was being ghosted. I even explained that I needed the photos for a special Father's Day gift for my father visiting from overseas. She never responded. She sent them after the date had passed, with another excuse that she'd "already sent them" days before - then why send them randomly again? What hurts most is the lack of care. Harshita charges premium prices, but provides anything but a premium experience. This isn't just a one-off situation -- after this experience, I looked deeper and found old reviews from years ago to quite recently describing the same issues. I wish I took all her previous reviews into consideration. She may take lovely photos on the day (and we actually enjoyed the shoot and thought we had a connection) but the stress, silence, and disregard that follows is not worth it. Every year we go through the same issues with delay of photos, delayed response but it's become a tradition going to her.. three weeks later she confirms she wasnt doing holiday photos this year and now I cannot find another photographer. First of all, her work speaks for itself. I chose Harshita because the quality of her photos really stood out compared to a few other photographers I was considering. She doesn't use filters, the photos have such great lighting and color and her eye for editing is really pure. I used Avnida Photography for my son's first birthday photoshoot and cake smash. The photos turned out great. Also I had a few requests and Harshita was so pleasant to work with, was able to fit me in and work with my requests. I had been looking up newborn photographers a bit too close to my due date, but I was lucky enough to hear from Harshita that she had a last minute cancellation about a week after my baby was born. Just under two weeks after my daughter Emma came into the world, we had a newborn session at Avnida. Harshita is WONDERFUL to work with; she is EXCELLENT with newborns (and handling first/new parent jitters ;). We felt completely relaxed while she took care of our little one. I was happy to see the variety of outfits that Harshita had available at the shoot. I LOVED the way her pics came out, so much so, that we have continued to get Christmas photos from Harshita almost every year since (not 2020 - pandemic :( I will say that as much as I love Harshita and her work, it does take a bit of time to receive the photographs back. Something to keep in mind if you'd like your images quickly. That will not stop us for going to Harshita in the future though, as we just requested a princess shoot for my now almost 5 year old! read more

No doubt Harshita is extremely good in her work and pictures came out really beautiful for both of my Daughter's photoshoot but you need to be very patient and keep no hope, excitement to see pictures. Every time she told us in 2 weeks we will get the pictures , but it took more than 1.5 months to finally see them. We were ok to wait but she needed to be transparent with her customers and share timely updates. she will never respond to your email and messages after the photoshoot never means never. While my pictures came out great and props were wonderful - her transparency on timelines to receive photos wasn't there and communication was unprofessional. With pricing that is fairly expensive - not acceptable. it took over two months to get newborn pictures and countless follow ups required - she ignores messages, has excuses when she does. I had my newborn's photo shoot here. Harshita was very quick to respond to me BEFORE the shoot. After she got paid, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with her. It was already 2 months after the shoot and still no pictures. I borderline had to harass her with emails and texts and kept having to corner her to get everything my package consisted of. I still have a milestone session left to redeem but I was so horrified by the way she did business that I am not even going to redeem it. Even though the pictures were fine, the communication and timeliness were so terrible that it just was not worth it. Taking MONTHS to send out my baby's birth announcement is just not acceptable. read more

Pros: Good with Children Many props Good Photographer, takes great photos Cons: Terrible on the business end, which i find with a lot of photographers, just wants to take pictures but poor follow through. Bad communication. Lots of emails back and forth and shes not keeping track of anything. Said she mailed out a final product to me without even showing me a template of the collage that I requested (which happened to have 3 of the exact same picture) And then made it seem like that was my fault and I should be grateful that she was redoing it for me. Final product had good pictures, but not what i specifically asked for from the beginning, which was a canvas collage. What i got was a collage on something very different. Recommendation: Its a gamble. Recommendation for Harshita: Hire someone to handle the business side, not your strong suit. read more

The photos are lovely but it's very hard to work with Harshita. She is not good at communicating... she does not respond to emails and only responds to texts about 50% of the time. We took maternity photos in early November and didn't get the final images until March 2. I had newborn photos done and it took her a month to get them to us. When we finished the shoot she said she'd get them to us within 2 weeks but it took a full month and many efforts on my part asking where they were. read more

Contacted her on Thursday Feb 4th to do a shoot for my twin babies before their mother goes in for a major surgery on the 12th. Set a shoot date for Wed the 10th, Was told she would send me out a contract. Never got the contract. On the 9th I contacted her about the contract was told her child was sick and wanted to move the date, I moved around doctor appointments to make it work got a new date for Thursday the 10th at 10:30am, I was then sent out a contract and informed that payment would have to be made in full before the shoot. Payment in full? If I was told upfront about this I would have never booked this shoot and wasted my time. She had already moved the shoot date once, didn't get back to me when she was supposed to to send me out the agreement, what if something happens again? I WOULD NEVER PAY FOR ANY SERVICE BEFORE IT'S RENDERED. Anyone that pays for a service in full before it's rendered is an idiot. Would you pay for a meal before you went to the restaurant? Or a dental visit? She claims it's "policy" well policy just lost you a new customer and got you this review. She might take good photos from some of the reviews here but I almost start to question how legit these review are. My husband and I found Avnida Photography after doing an online search for newborn photographers in NJ, and we couldn't have been happier to have found Harshita! We were very impressed by the samples of her work online and even more impressed after our personal experience with her. Having a very fussy newborn baby, we were very worried that our son would not do well during the session. The moment our baby boy began getting fussy at the start of the session, we thought we would be going home right away! However, our worries disappeared the moment Harshita began working her magic with our son. Harshita was up for the challenge and was so patient! She took her time and was so sweet with our baby. She's also a perfectionist with great attention to detail, and so she captured so many beautiful shots that we will forever treasure. Harshita was great with my newborn and the photos were fantastic. I initially was hesitant to do a newborn photoshoot. My husband and I thought we could DIY... which obviously did not work. So I found Avnida photography on Yelp and google and decided to reach out. Harshita calmed my worries about how my newborn would do during the shoot. I used Avnida Photography for my son's newborn photo shoot. Harshita did an excellent job, is very good with kids and is a particularly skilled photographer. She is extremely patient and asked me to come back the following day to take some more pictures because my baby wasn't cooperating as much as we needed him to. In the end she took some amazing pictures. I got a ton of compliments on the birth announcement and newborn photos Harshita took. The only thing I would have liked her to do is to edit the stray hair out of my face for the parent photos on the digitals she gave us.
