So after doing some research on Yelp, I discovered Flobo Photo and reached out to Andrew via email to schedule a photoshoot. Andrew was very responsive and the next thing you know, we were booked for a Saturday morning session at Fort Greene Park at 8am (hooray for off leash hours!). The shoot was so much fun, and this, coming from someone who doesn't typically enjoy getting her photo taken. Bella took to Andrew almost immediately and he got some amazing shots. He had all the spots picked out ahead of time, knew exactly what he was doing and I trusted his expertise completely. In fact, the shoot went so well, that I had over 117 photos to choose from, which was a GREAT problem to have. The package I purchased come with 5 digital photos, but in the end, I chose 20 and Andrew gave me a great deal on the additional 15 pics. I had a great experience here when I recently adopted a kitten from Sean Casey Animal Rescue. I have heard that trying to adopt a cat in NYC can sometimes be a trying, time consuming and overall unpleasant experience, but my experience here was the total opposite. I spoke to someone nice on the phone to get details about the cats they had, and they offered to hold a female kitten who sounded perfect until I was able to come in. Well, perfect she was and in less than an hour they had all my paperwork processed, called my references, approved my application, went over her medical records with me, and recommended a great food from their pet store to me. Not to mention that she is the sweetest little lovebug anyone could imagine and has been a total joy- used the litterbox from day one, gets along with my dog, only scratches her scratching post, I could go on for days! While in the store I also took a peek at all the exotic animals they had- I can honestly say I never thought I would see a tortoise the size of a dog just freely roaming around a pet store in Brooklyn! They also had snakes, iguanas, lizards, guinea pigs, hamsters, and parakeets (due to legalities regarding the keeping of exotics in city limits, certain types of animals are only available with proof of address outside of NYC). They are the only place that I've come across in NYC that offers its (excellent) rescue services to these cast off exotic animals and it's wonderful to see a place committed to helping every homeless animal that needs help- not just the ones that are cute and fluffy and easy to find homes for. The Shoot: This was our 4th session with Meredith but our…read morefirst time working with her outside the comforts of NYC. Like every other previous session, she brought her energetic spirit and magnetic charisma behind the camera. I still don't know how, but she manages to capture so many moments of candid magic. Whether indoor or outdoor, pre-planned or off-the-cuff, Meredith never fails to bring out the absolute best in us with every session. A good photographer may take flattering pictures, but Meredith is an artist that captures moments. The emotions and actions in front of her lens are perfectly preserved in time and I cannot stress how much of a difference it makes to be able to look at her work and see the joy and love expressed in it. The Products: By now we've enjoyed several products that I think I can provide a recommendation here. 1.) First and foremost is the album. Whether you go with the leather, linen, or the hardcover, get yourself an album! Regular albums contain a series of photographs that are nice to look at, but what you'll put together with Meredith is a story captured in images. The narrative you build with her is woven into the album in a way that you just can't replicate by yourself. It may not seem all that significant if this is your first album, but you'll understand it a year from now when you look back. 2.) The think the gallery canvases are the best way to display your moments on the walls of any room. The quality of the images are excellent and worth every penny. I recommend using them in a 2- or 3-part series if you have a wall that can accommodate. 3.) The crystal trio is what regular acrylic frames wish they could do. With the image professionally affixed to the block, there is no wear and tear on the image, no magnets to rub up against the photo, just a perfectly preserved picture with a high quality acrylic block that creates a beautiful effect that you don't get with anything else. The moments that you want to revisit over and over again are the ones you want to preserve in these. 4.) The digital collection is my personal favorite. Take the images and throw them on your smart TV or whatever streaming device you use and you've got yourself a big screen digital frame. Set them as a slide show in your screen saver or background on your computer or phone and you can enjoy them in your office. If figuring out the order to display the photos is not something you want to spend time doing, the image slideshow Meredith produces are an exceptional way to get the "story" feel from the album in a digital form. When I got my pup (Ollie), he was a little scared of other dogs. He would bark at them and go crazy, he will also see certain people and go nuts as well. If you got into an elevator with me and him, he would bark at you. Not in an aggressive way, more like who are you give me love kinda of way. He also loved to pull and drag me or whoever walked him around. I had already trained him with potty training, but was concerned that his behavior kept getting worse. My neighbor also has a German Shepherd and her dog is insane. She can barely control him and he's also super aggressive. My fear was that Ollie would wind up like that and that I'd have to give him up because I wouldn't be able to control him). After reading a lot of reviews, I contacted Abcs of Dog Training, and spoke to Michael. I was interested in the three week training. Michael was very clear and honest from the start. Seemed to know what he was doing. He agreed to come pick up Ollie. While away, Michael sent me updates. He taught him commands and socialized Ollie. Now when I take him for walks, Ollie never barks at anyone, not even at other dogs. The only time when he barks is when we are inside the home and there's someone approaching the door from the outside. He walks great on the leash, and listens to me. You have to keep on practicing the commands (heel, sit, leave it, lay down, stay, drop it, measure walk, and a few more). I'm extremely grateful for Michael and his training. Training was a bit expensive but so worth it. Michael also offers the two week follow up and is there for any questions you may have before and after the process.
