The teachers and staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child's happiness, development, and well-being. Our daughter received so much love, care & attention. She was always excited to go to school and we could see how much she learned (counting & singing in Spanish), grew, and blossomed during her time there. All of the teachers go above and beyond to make the children and parents feel comfortable, safe & cared for. Knowing our child was happy, safe, loved, and surrounded by people who truly cared about gave us such peace of mind. My son absolutely loves DPM. We switched to here from another school a month ago and I was very nervous because my son cried everyday at the other school. It's been the complete opposite here. He will literally ask to go to school and when I pick him up he is so happy!! He has bloomed so much the last month and his vocabulary has literally tripled. Before enrolling our son at Dana Point Montessori, we had two wonderful nannies who took excellent care of him. However, he was very shy and had limited opportunities to socialize with other children. After starting at Dana Point Montessori, we watched him truly blossom. Mrs. Tedra's individual attention, warmth, and encouragement made such a difference in his confidence and social development. She also recognized his love of art and encouraged him through creative projects, helping him develop his interests and abilities. Ms. Megha is an excellent director and a wonderful leader for the staff. She is attentive, approachable, and genuinely responsive to the needs of both students and their families. We were also very pleased with the curriculum. The teachers taught our son letter sounds and introduced phonics, helping him begin to read CVC words and develop a strong foundation for literacy. Each month, the children also explored a new theme--such as sea animals or dinosaurs--and our son learned so much while remaining excited and engaged. This is just a small example of everything he learned during his time there. Many families choose to keep their children at Dana Point Montessori for several years, which speaks volumes about the community they have created. Our son attended for two years, and we plan to have him return this upcoming summer. Dana Point Montessori has become a real family to our twin boys. They started when they were about 2.5 years old and attended for almost 2 years. School is very clean, well-organized, lunches and snacks are delicious, lots of toys, books and activities to do. Our boys found friends and always were happy to go there. We want to say "huge thank you" to amazing teachers - Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Darcy, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Tedra, Ms. Sarah and two directors Ms. Lena (who was there when we started) and current - Ms. Megha! I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Dana Point Montessori when we moved to Dana Point a year ago. I enrolled both of my children in the daycare, so I know the teachers in both the "toddler" and "primary" classes, and I can tell you that they are all absolutely incredible. Tiare and Vanessa taught my 2-year-old so much , and are just amazing and so caring with all the kids. Tedra leads the primary class, and they are learning the same things my TK-er is in elementary school! My son just turned 3 and he can recognize letters already. I especially appreciate that the school teaches life skills as well. There's plenty of fun, play, and art, but also so much learning, and I love that balance. We were so lucky to find Dana Point Montessori for our daughter! Our daughter has been attending this preschool for nearly one year and she likes it so much that she is attending their summer school program as well. My son went here for an hour and a half before the "Director/Owner" Lena called me up to tell me I don't think this is gonna work out we gave it a shot, your son is telling the teachers no and is having a hard time listening. Gave it a shot. An hour and a half?!?! What a joke!!! She didn't even give my son the chance to settle in to a new environment. Poorly scrutinized him from the beginning. Horrible absolutely terrible. You'd be doing your child a disservice by bringing them here!!!! Think about your child before you sign them up to this awful place!!! And she has her own son there with his own private sector for his special treatments in which my son was intruding on. So professional and welcoming. I am a former preschool teacher here and this place truly became like home to me. The community of parents, teachers, and kiddos is definitely special. I worked here for a few years and can say that the children there feel at home, at ease and there is so much trust and bond between the teachers and children. My son started at Dana Point Montessori last year, right before he turned three. I was nervous, because he had always been home with me. The owner/director, Ms. Lena, was very informative and reassuring that he would be okay and have a great time learning and playing with the other children. Sure enough, she was right! When my husband and I were looking for a preschool for our 2 year old I really liked Dana Point Montessori because when I met Miss Irina I saw love for the kids around her. This is not a business for her, this is what she likes to do. When you love what you do everything fits together and the kids love her and Miss Nancy. They are doing a great job here. I was so stressed because I didn't think my kid was ready for this but he loves going to his preschool where he has a music room and a classroom and a patio to play with all the kids and a lot of fun.
