Dana is a wonderful person. I just came home from Florida with my Dog Bella Mia who was mistreated by her groomer Gone to the Dogs in St Pete beach. One groomer refused to cut her because she suffers from anxiety. They called her trouble some and a pancake which caused her more anxiety and she urinated on herself. When my husband picked her up. We have a gentle miniature schnauzer named, Arthur (aged 8) who has a coat that very easily gets matted and out of control. If I could give negative stars I would. I went to speak with Dana prior to bringing my cocker spaniel there to let her know, under no circumstances did I want her coat shaved down again like the previous groomer did. She assured me that if she were to do that I would receive a call and she would explain why. Her first groom went well, but her coat had not grown in yet. 8 weeks later she was starting to fill out and we returned. When I picked her up, she had been shaved down even worse than the last groomer. She had pink patches on her skin and razor burn. I had to take her to the vet the next day and the vet gave her antibiotics. Said the grooming was the cause Dana was nasty, non- apologetic and argumentative with me when I picked her up. Of course this was AFTER I paid (with a tip) and before I realized my dog would need a vet visit. I would never recommend this place to anyone read more

Dana's does a wonderful job on both of our rescues. Panzer the big boy is our Newfoundland mix and foxy is our Eskimo/Pommeranian Mix. From small to big, Dana's can do it all. They are very good with them even when the big guy is a bit grumpy. I am so glad we have a great groomer here on the Island. Don't hesitate to take your dogs to see Dana's. Absolute Nightmare! My mom dropped off and picked up my dog for me at Danas Stylin Pets. They gave her the wrong small white dog similar to mine! She left the store and got to the car. She realized that the leash was different so she went back inside with the dog and questioned them if they gave her the wrong dog. They went and got the right collar and leash and just switched them, telling my mom everything was all set! she made it all the way home (about 30 miles) before the groomer called saying she had the wrong dog to bring it back, (after she had questioned them). Then when she arrived back, they told her that they UNDER CHARGED her and demanded more money! I can't believe how irresponsible these people are. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EXPERIENCED! They can't even keep track of dogs they are grooming. I would never recommend anyone to trust these people with their pets. read more

6 years ago, I began my search for a groomer for my dog Sasha and happened to come across Dana's Styling Pets. Throughout the first 5 years of taking Sasha to get groomed and cleaned, I couldn't have been more pleased with the care my dog received. Unfortunately though, there has been a sudden change in how Dana operates and treats her customers. One of the simple requests my family makes to Dana in regards to to taking care of Sasha is to use the special shampoo that we bring with us every single time we take her in. This past time, Dana did not use the shampoo, instead using a different shampoo that Sasha was having an allergic reaction to. When Sasha came home, she was itching, and scratching herself. We went to give her a bath when we realized she had not used the shampoo that we brought to her. In order to figure it out, we called Dana asking if she had used the shampoo we always bring. Instead of a calm conversation, Dana reverted to screaming and yelling at my husband for no explainable reason and informed us that we needed to find ourselves a new groomer before she hung up. This was the last time I ever take Sasha to Dana's; it is not worth the suffering for Sasha, and not worth the attitude given to us. We will no longer be recommending her to anyone. read more

Dana does an excellent job with our Portuguese Water Dogs. She does basic cuts for our "house" dog and "special" cuts for our show dog. She makes sure they are always smell wonderful and always has them completed on time. If you have a special "request", talk to her, she's always willing to work with families (I have witnessed this myself). It's worth the trip to the Island if your looking for your dogs to smell great! She's right off the first exit, right next to the Tim hortons and Burger King, in the lot where the "Theodore's" Hot Dogs are. She also carries flea and tick medicine, which is very helpful, and a cleaner for your carpet (excellent), to get dog accidents out. Give her a try, you won't be disappointed!! read more

Spoke to owner, Dana, on the phone questioning the price charged because someone other than myself picked them up- She was shrill, rude, and impatient. They do a decent job but I will not use their services again after being spoken to in this regard. She should avoid talking to clients and stick with dogs. read more

Sorry this is so long... Heads up all people thinking of using Dana's Stylin' Pets in Grand Island... I took my Wheaten Terriers, Makayla and Finn, there for grooming for the second time. The first time, all went well...the second time, I realized the next day, that something was going on with her back end. She was licking a lot and she was all swollen. At first I thought, hmmm...could she be in heat? But no, it would be another month before its time for that, so I took her to the vet. Turns out, the groomer clipped her vulva with the clippers and either didn't realize it or chose not to tell me. I know right?! Anyway...$68 vet bill plus medicine that needed to be applied 2-3 time per day...ok awesome! I figured accidents happen and I would address it with her the next time I brought them in as I was leaving for an out of town wedding. So the doggie sitter had to put medicine on Makayla's choochie...great! (thanks Mal ) Fast forward...I make an appt for grooming the other day and ask who groomed her last time. She said it was the owner, Dana...I explained what had happened and asked for nothing in return, I just wanted them to be extra careful in the future. She put me on hold and when she came back she said nothing about the situation just briskly reiterated the date and time to come in...ok...I figured I would address it again when I went there. When I got there to drop them off this morning, they quickly whisked the dogs back and there was another customer talking to Dana, so as she took the dogs, I quickly reminded her to please be careful with her. She barely looked at me and said ok, ok...like, how rude of me to interrupt. Needless to say, I spent the next 3 hours trying to figure out how to explain that my expectation was to get an apology at the very least, without it turning into an argument. Well, that wasn't going to happen. When I said I'm feeling bad that you haven't addressed it, she actually said in retort that she "had to fix the bad haircut I gave Makayla and that I probably did it and am trying to blame her!!" I informed her that I only cut Makayla's head because I'm too nervous to try to cut the other end...and that I'm not looking for compensation...just a simple apology. Something like..."Oh, I'm sorry...I didn't realize the clippers got her. I'll make sure I'm extra careful in the future! Thanks for trusting me and bringing her in again!" No...not even close...she said, "I'm not going to apologize for something I didn't do! I don't care WHAT your vet said!" To which I responded...well, I won't be back then. And I walked out. So rude and zero customer service skills!!! Please do not take your pets there!!! read more

I will no longer be utilizing the services of Dana's Stylin Pets. She gave me service that is anger worthy. On February 11, 2015 I took my Cocker Spaniel to her to be groomed. When I went in with my dog I pointed out a growth to her (Dana, the groomer) and said "do not cut to closely to this, in fact if you have to leave fur around it. She is going to the vet Tuesday to have it looked at." I left a quiet salon with my dog being the next up for grooming. I expected a call sooner than later that she was done and to come and pick her up. I got a call at 3pm (our appointment time was 10am) that she was done and come and get her. First she asked that I pay, then after I paid her she said "You know that growth, there is a hole under it." I said a hole, she gave me back my dog with a bleeding hole in her back after I had told her to leave the growth alone! She cut the growth off and left a hole in my dog that by the time we picked her up was only mildly bleeding. I got home and immediately called my vet, they said bring her in, she needs to be looked at and get antibiotics. The appointment was made for 6pm that night and we had to drive her in to the vet in a driving snow storm during rush hour traffic. At the vet my poor dog got two staples to hold the hole shut, a shot of antibiotics, and pain medicine. I took her back two weeks later for the staples to be removed and I got a home care regimen that includes washing the hole out with antiseptic soap twice a day. To this day she is still bleeding and she may need surgery to permanently fix the damage. She is 8 and I am worried about doing surgery on her for many reasons. I acquired nearly $400 in vet bills, and it still isn't over. I say avoid this groomer if your dog has any issues, she doesn't listen, and she takes things in her own hands. read more
